After deciding on what to do, Leonard Ethan roughly estimated the size of the kitchen. He set the detection range to the size of the kitchen and used the [Detection (N)] card.
In an instant, the card disappeared from his mind, and a force was infused into his eyes. Then, a dazzling white light appeared around him.
"It seems there's no interlayer here," Leonard laughed after realizing the source of the white light was from the pile of things beside him. It made sense since it would be unlikely for every place he visited to have hidden treasures.
Through gaps in the cluttered room, Leonard curiously looked at the object that emitted the light. Due to the pile of mess in the center of the room, he could only see the curved and smooth copper plate.
"Is this a can or a pot?" Leonard thought about the various items he had cleared from the corners of the room and sunk into contemplation.
Soon, he started clearing the objects piled on the container, realizing that the easiest way to figure out what it was would be to take it out and have a look.
"What are you doing?" Pierce, who had just returned from putting things outside, curiously asked while watching Leonard suddenly dismantling the pile of objects he had just stacked.
"Oh, I remembered that among the things we found this time, there is one that seems special, so I wanted to find it and take a look."
Since Pierce could not see the white light formed by the card activation, he naturally found Leonard's actions quite strange.
"Is there really a treasure here?" Hearing Leonard's words, Pierce became excited too.
Although the pile of items belonged to Leonard, Pierce, who had been swindled by the Russian tycoon, was eager to see his friend find some treasures that the tycoon had overlooked.
"Not necessarily, but it should be the most valuable thing in this room." After thinking about the contents of the card, Leonard shook his head with a smile, then took a complete medium-sized stew pot from the pile of objects and put it aside.
Finally, they took the target they was looking for from the iron stove at the very middle of the pile of items. The moment Leonard touched the copper pot, the light on it disappeared.
The object was a huge copper pot with a lid, which appeared to be much thicker than the waists of the two adult men on site. The pot was shaped like an inverted round tower, with a lid and a pair of handles.
"If you cook a meal in this pot, it could probably feed about twenty or thirty people," Pierce exclaimed while staring at the large pot.
He now believed that this pot should be the most valuable item among the pile of objects, at least when it came to everyday items, as those that were particularly large or small usually sold at a higher price.
"This pot must have been used in the manor to cook stews or soups for servants. Meanwhile, the owner of the manor and the guests would have had their food prepared with a smaller pot in the kitchen on the first floor," Leonard said as he tapped the copper pot with his hand.
The pot had been placed in the bottommost section of a cabinet, covered in dust, black oxide, and pot-bottom ash when discovered, looking unremarkable and dull.
The only unusual aspect was a wiped-off stamp-sized area on the dusty lid, revealing the copper color.
Clearly, the ones who searched here before must have noticed this pot at first glance. But it was abandoned as it had no patterns and its large size seemed to be intended for use by servants.
No matter what, the Russian tycoon was at least a wealthy man. He could have taken away valuable things from those rooms in advance out of stinginess, but taking things like large copper pots or cast iron stoves would seem too cheap.
Although Pierce seemed somewhat excited on the side, Leonard still felt that something was wrong.
Because just now, there were some bas-reliefs on the cast iron stove from the Victorian Era placed under the pot, and the matching fire tongs, graphite box, chimney, and even the hard brush and other accessories were all available and in good condition. In theory, they should be worth more than the big copper pot.
"There must be something I haven't discovered." thought Leonard, but he also knew that cleaning the pot in this place didn't seem appropriate.
So he and Pierce quickly loaded these things onto Pierce's RV, and then called the person left by the tycoon to inspect the work.
Soon, the four houses passed the inspection. After receiving 1800 Pounds each from this person for their salary, the two immediately drove back to London.
As for this place that had taken advantage of them, they didn't want to stay for a second longer.
Fortunately, since the two of them worked promptly, their speed was faster than expected. So when they returned to London, after finishing half a day early, the sky had just turned dark.
After returning to London, Leonard and Pierce didn't go back to their residences. Instead, they went straight to the Emerald Antique Store after buying fried fish potato chips and coca-cola on the roadside.
Only this time they didn't enter through the main entrance but went around halfway and parked the two cars at the back of the antique shop's warehouse.
"I plan to start cleaning these things tonight, what about you?" asked Pierce, turning to Leonard after eating their dinner in the RV's driving compartment.
"Of course, I'll do it together. There are quite a few things in my pile that are relatively easy to clean. It's perfect to clean them tonight and sell them to you." Leonard said as he opened the car door and walked to the warehouse.
Due to their previous cooperation and the small space of Leonard's rented room, his cleaning tools were placed at Pierce's side.
After using a forklift to unload all the things from the two cars into the warehouse, the two started cleaning work under the bright lights. After briefly cleaning a stack of ceramic bowls, Leonard placed the large pot on the workbench to organize it.
"Huh, what's this?" As he wiped off the dust from the pot and started cleaning the soot at the bottom of the pot, some letters appeared on the cleaned part of the bottom.
"This should be Arabic, right?" Pierce, who was attracted by Leonard's low cry, said as he looked at the twisted strokes of the characters. "Although I can't tell what it says, these characters look quite familiar."
"Not necessarily, there are several languages that use Arabic letters. Just like the whole of Western Europe uses Latin letters." Leonard said as he cleaned the bottom of the pot.
"So at least wait for me to clean out a complete word, and then we can confirm the meaning of these characters."
With the help of Pierce, who came to help out of curiosity, the two soon cleaned a complete word from the bottom of the pot covered with soot. After staring at it for a few seconds, Leonard recognized what the word meant.
"Constantinople, it seems like this is a pot with a story." Leonard tapped the word lightly with his right index finger and sighed.
