After the destruction of the 6th layer of Troy due to an earthquake, the land fell into a brief silence. Then, a group of residents from the Small Asia Peninsula came to this pile of ruins and began to build their own city.
This is now the 7th layer of the Historic Ruins of Troy, existing from 1275 BC to 1100 BC, belonging to the era documented in "Homer's Epic."
Unlike the previous layers, which all represented a single stage, this layer of ruins can be divided into Stages A and B, with Stage A belonging to the period of the Trojan War, and both created by people of the same cultural system.
The famous war, ignited by the unparalleled beauty Helen, erupted in this important era, and a great number of traces left by the war can be found in the ruins of Stage A.
As for the ruins rebuilt in Stage B, they clearly had a much smaller scale than those of Stage A and lacked the former prosperity, which aligns with the epic's account of the Trojan survivors rebuilding their homeland.
