In order to avoid being eavesdropped on by others through the walkie-talkie, Leonard and his team had previously agreed to convey information through knocks with specific rhythms.
Sure enough, less than a minute after Fairmont sent the signal, rhythmic knocking sounds came from the speaker of the walkie-talkie, and the two teams in other locations received the information from Leonard and his team, indicating that they would arrive immediately to join the excavation work.
More than an hour later, both teams arrived and joined the excavation work. It had to be said that these true professionals were much better at marching in the snow than amateurs like Leonard.
The excavation work went smoothly; apart from occasional stones, bullets and warheads mixed in, the ground here, although frozen, was much softer than Russia's permafrost.
