Glancing at the dilapidated elevator and confirming the target was on the fifth floor, Leonard Ethan decisively pushed open the fire exit door and climbed up the mottled cement staircase.
Looking at the somewhat blackened walls and the obviously later-installed emergency lights, the building's maintenance situation wasn't very optimistic. Fortunately, almost all the light bulbs were working, indicating that the building was still being inspected and maintained.
After arriving at the target location, Leonard saw some glowing objects under the peeling wall. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was a doorplate, only hidden due to being painted over multiple times.
"Connecting the dead's graveyard to the doorplate of the house where they lived is interesting," thought Leonard as he touched the doorplate and then pressed the doorbell.
