Because the appointed meeting place was at a farmhouse in a remote suburban valley, it took Leonard and his group more than an hour to reach their destination.
The Manor was situated next to a clear little lake, enveloped by a large number of plants in the center. Looking from the tops of the low-lying trees, one could see the red roof of the Manor's tallest building.
Soon, the taxi left the highway and turned onto a private road, guiding them through a jungle. Looking out from the windows, it appeared that the plants on both sides of the road were once pruned hedges.
However, it seems they've been left untamed since the spring, growing wild and giving off a jungle-like vibe.
After three minutes, the taxi arrived in front of a cast-iron gate. Once the car rounded the corner and drove away, a young man opened the gate amid a grating metallic sound.
"Who are you?" Mr. Scott looked at the tattooed young man opening the gate curiously, for he did not recognize him.
