Soon, Leonard Ethan and Joan appeared in the museum's first-floor Great Hall and saw the giant stele that was at least a person's height tall. The stele was placed in a spot visible upon entering, surrounded by a ring of rope.

The stele was carved into the shape of a cross, but unlike most crosses, this cross had a fully armed Viking Warrior at the bottom.

On the back of the cross was a monstrous beast and entwined chains. Clearly, this was a traditional Nordic cross, as the patterns on it did not belong to Christianity but rather to the traditional Viking religion.

This cross was obviously carved in the early stages of Christianity spreading in Northern Europe. In addition to incorporating traditional local patterns, the stone sculptures of the warrior fighting the evil beast were very much in line with the aesthetics of ancient Vikings.
