The whole statue of Guan Yin is more than twenty centimeters tall, with celadon glaze all over. Although the glaze has become rough due to having been soaked in seawater for too long, one can still see its previous crystal-clear and icy jadelike features.
Guanyin has a sturdy figure, broad forehead, and plump cheeks. The facial sculpting is exceptionally vivid, and details such as the draping clothes and long skirt are smooth, highlighting the elegant body.
As for identifying it as a Guanyin Bodhisattva rather than another deity, it's quite simple. The crown on the head of the statue is distinctive so that the experts can recognize the sculpted statue at a glance.
