While dismantling the box, Leonard Ethan felt relieved that it was a fake, so he was less worried about causing any damage.
Soon, he'd used a small chisel, saw, and pliers to remove the wooden boards. From the reinforced bottom of the box, he pulled out a slightly worn, thread-bound booklet titled the Ancient Buddha's Authentic Verification of the Dragon Flower Sutra.
"It looks like a Buddhist Sutra, but why would it be hidden like this?" Leonard Ethan murmured after seeing the title, then slowly unfolded the manuscript on his workbench.
The booklet appeared somewhat yellowed and slightly damaged, but as the person who copied it had used good paper, and since it wasn't too old, it was reasonably well preserved.
Leonard Ethan found that despite its title, the booklet wasn't a Buddhist scripture at all. For instance, the spells used in the ceremonies recorded at the beginning seemed more akin to Taoist practices.
