Once the ruins of the village were confirmed to be safe, the three of them immediately began searching the village with their metal detectors. Unfortunately, aside from a pile of trash, they found nothing of interest.
"I don't think the last treasure of the Byzantine Empire is hidden here," Fairmont said to Leonard Ethan, looking upset as he tossed aside a collapsed, rusty iron pot he had just excavated from the ruins.
"This village was built along a river, and I don't think such a place is suitable for preserving various treasures. Otherwise, the humidity here would've destroyed most of them," Fairmont explained.
"You have a point," Leonard agreed, exploring the ruins with his metal detector. "But the previous map was too vague, so according to tradition, we have to check human settlements first."
