At the age of fifteen every child in the kingdom of Shirubauddo is presented with two choices either enter a magical academy or join the workforce. Many children often choose the first, whilst others choose the later and in rare occasions some choose to participate in the tournament selection. An event that would give them the possibility of joining the Chikara, a group of select extremely gifted magics who protected the kingdom and it's people.
They were adored and known throughout the kingdom of Shirubauddo and even within the other continents as well. Their powers were so great even the king was oftentimes frightened of them.
On his fifteenth birthday Aoi Hiroto was presented with the same choice as all the children that turned fifteen that day, though his parents had requested for him to be enrolled directly into Karokugo academy upon his fifteenth birthday as was law in the kingdom the Priest had no other choice but to give him the options and abide by his decision.
'Hiroto, Hiroto'
Kenji, the priest of the orphanage called unto him but he received no response. It was usual of Hiroto to just disappear sometimes from sunrise to sundown only ever appearing back for lunch and dinner.
After taking care of him for so Many years Kenji who was quite young for a priest knew him better than any one else and was rather tired of his shenanigans.
Kenjj had joined an academy at fifteen but left a year later annoyed by how tiresome it was thus he joined the workforce after and stayed for two year but just as before he got annoyed by the difficulty of it. Thus he joined the church soon there later after searching for the easiest job he could find within the kingdom.
He was thrilled to live a peaceful life without hardwork or toil. Although he found tranquility within the church the load of work there too still annoyed him thus he began to request a transfer into an orphanage where he knew he wouldn't be required to do much and after 9 years at the age of 26 he finally got the opportunity to be transfered to Taoka Village where he thought he would rightfully live the easy life he had always dreamt of but unfortunately for him on the very day of his arrival to Mikae orphanage so to arrived Aoi Hiroto.
A child who he taught was just like him initially, until he realised Hiroto was far worse than him. In fact Hiroto would go above and beyond to make sure he didn't exercise any form of fatigue in anything he did.
Hiroto although possessing no magical flow was gifted with extreme intelligence but he had one extreme flaw, he was the very definition of laziness, he would go to any extreme to avoid expending any energy at all.
His motto was rather simple, 'I'd much rather not' even if he could he'd much rather not.
What would he chose then when confronted with options that would most definitely require him to simply move.
As expected kenji found him, dozing off in the nuns room, he often slept there in the afternoons fully knowing that was the last place that would be checked.
April 17 was just as much of a terrible day for Hiroto as it was for kenji, both of them extremely lazy were confronted with each other for the first time and they right away realised that in order for either of them to maintain their lifestyle the other would have to be gotten rid of otherwise they'd be a torn in their back.
Hiroto had always been smart, he was very observant and could often read a person the very first time he met them, thus his encounter with kenji was less but desirable.
He could tell at first glance that Kenji was just like him. Although kenji was not aware of Hurotos peculiarity, a day was all it took for him and everyone else to realise just who they had to deal with.
10 minutes after he arrived at the orphanage he was already in bed fullu covered by the worm blanket amd dozing of. The nuns simply thought he was tired after his trip thus they left him be.
Five hours passed and he was still in bed, worried the nuns rushed over to his room. Terrified of finding him sick but as they rushed and arrived into the accomodatio of the children they soon found him, laying on the bed with his face facing the ground while still being fully covered from head to toe.
On the ground was a book he was reading not wanting to hold it he had instead laid it on the floor and had read only two pages. To read the next pages he would have to use his arms to turn the page but he was to comfortable and worm thus he had instead given up and was staring at the book with nonchalantly.
The nuns upon finding him in such a state of course when towards him and picked up the book from the ground, worried that perhaps he had hurt his arms and was unable to pick it up, instead as the picked it up he slowly turned his head to face them and asked.
'can you turn it to the next page for me and leave it on the floor'
The nuns were confused but complied and left him to his book. An hour later they returned to give him in the same position as earlier looking at the page they'd turned for him. As they reached him, he turned and asked the same question again and the nuns complied again.
They then left, got out the door and started to observe him, fifteen minutes passed and they realised he was stuck once again on another page thus they entered the room and asked him if he was okay, if he'd hurt his arms but he replied simply saying no.
The nuns confused asked him why he wasn't turning the pages if he wanted to read and he said 'it's too much effort and I'd much rather not' they were dumbfounded, how was simply turning a page a task.
With that revelation the nuns turned the page for him ome last time before leaving with tears at their eyes thinking of what treacherous life he must have lead for such a trivial thing to seem so difficult for him.
Kenji soon also found out through the nuns of what had happened and being just like Hiroto he could tell the kid was just lazy.
