Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - New world or New dream?

When Denver Mathildis woke up he was expecting to see his room sealing but instead it was replaced with an open blue sky without a single cloud in sight.

Below him expecting his blue bed mattress which cost a little too much was soft green grass spending a few miles around him, beside him was a single tree that could be seen in a two mile radius.

Leaning on the tree was a small backpack, the backpack was a tarnish brown leather with two straps with golden buttons holding a flap closed to keep the objects inside safe.

After he got up to walk a few feet to the backpack he saw a single note on the bag held there with some kind of clear tape.

After inspecting the note he looked inside the backpack it contained a knife, a pencil, a piece of paper, a single arrow head, and the most peculiar object was a baseball sized crystal which had a semi see through layer and a swirling dense white mist inside.

After looking at the objects and little more observation to the crystal sphere he looked at the note.

It read

"The darkness is rising, the pure is fading.

Shadows await for their master's call.

Seek out the rod that doesn't exist,

the pearl that the finder cannot see,

and the claw that is nowhere to be found.

Tell no one of me, I do not exist. Only those who are chosen, can handle the power of the staff. The perceptive, the clairvoyant, the compassionate and the headstrong. Only they can defeat the Shadow Speaker. If they fail, the whole universe will fall to darkness."

The note left him extremely confused, thinking it was meant for someone else, he looked around seeing nothing and decided to take the backpack and note just in case.

After sorting the items inside the bag, he discovered that there was no food or water. He then decided that he needed to put effort into getting food and water then shelter.

If someone had witnessed this strange behavior they would think this man has done this before, but in reality he thought it was a dream. And he loved these kinds of dreams as it filled that emptiness in his heart.

After scouting the area around him he discovered that there was a rabbit hole, the size of the whole was decently large for a rabbit, as to how big he thought it might be a fox or badger hole but discovered around the hole was a crap ton of rabbit pellets.

Then thinking on the best course of action he decided to put a non lethal trap out in front of the hole to capture the rabbit to see if he could find any baby rabbits to breed to make a short term farm for food and rabbit skins for clothing and such items.

After some more wandering he discovered a small stream thirty to forty feet away from where he woken. After dipping his hands in the water using his hands in a cup like shape to scope up the water, then pored the water in his mouth to test how fresh it was.

To his astonishment it was extremely pure, even sweet! "Holy crap this is better than bottled water! If only this was real I could make a killing on this!!" he said with extreme enthusiasm.

After discovering the water source he decided to go rest under the large tree to rest, after all he was extremely white from staying inside all the time and burned easily.

"Man this is a really realistic dream, a little too frightening to be real." he said while wiping sweat off his forehead.

After resting for a moment he got back up to go check up on the trap he set earlier. After inspecting it for only a minit he saw it was empty.

But then he saw something more exciting, a flock of deer. He then immediately dropped down to an army crawling stance and slowly crawled to a small buck with only a two point horn.

Mentaly Denver thought "if i can get only this small two point buck i can eat for a week if i ration it properly and treat it properly and the hide will be extremely useful."

After getting only about two to three feet to the buck, the buck raised its head as if it was alerted by something off in the distance. After it was done checking out what it heard it looked down to eat some more, but on the way down it noticed Denver laying there with a knife in his hand.

Denver was originally thinking the buck would run as fast as possible after seeing him, but instead stood there then even going as far to get closer and sniff him.

Denver was extremely surprised by this and thought this was his chance but then immediately thought against it.

Why?

What had more food and potential leather, a rabbit or deer? Obviously it was the latter with the benefit of bigger bones he could make bone tools which were extremely valuable. So he ended up not killing a single deer but instead left them to graze and rest peacefully without disruption.

After leaving the flock of deer he went to rest on the tree, after laying down his stomach began to rumble as it was still high noon; it had only been two hours since this "dream" started.

Denver was hungry, very hungry but without capturing a rabbit or deer he had no food. After laying there for another ten minutes he got up and went towards the small stream.

Once arriving at the stream he looked a little closer at the stream, after inspection he found that the stream was two feet wide and about six inches to, two feet deep in some parts. He also discovered that the stream had a small amount of diversity of fish and other river creatures.

After looking at the fish for a while he noticed that the fish were nothing like any of the fish has seen or researched. One of the fish was a vibrant light blue with two spikes coming out on top with large whiskers at the front and most strangely had an arm like appendages to the side of the fish!

And this was not the only peculiar fish, all of them were like this, coming in different colors, sizes and even different attributes like the blue fish' arms.

After a quick glimpse at life in this small stream he decided to go back to the tree and grab a very straight stitch that broke off the tree a few days ago.

Then with the stick he sharpened it with the knife and took the sharp stick with the knife to the stream again. After a fer minutes staring blankly at the stream crouched he then grabbed the stick into the stream.

After polling the stick back a strange looking fish impaled by the stick was a pink colored fish with three spikes coming out of the side of the fish.
