Chereads / Pokemon Hunter / Chapter 168 - 168: Time Skip, Gible

Chapter 168 - 168: Time Skip, Gible

Grampa Canyon.

As soon as Hisoka reached the observatory, he saw a couple of guards fighting off against the raging Aerodactyl, and it didn't look like they were going to hold on for much longer.

However, instead of rushing straight to help them, he quietly went behind Aerodactyl and released his Pokemon. He didn't know how strong a Mega Evolved Aerodactyl would be. So he better play it safe.

Standing in front of him were Gardevoir, Milotic, Weavile, and Rhyperior. He quickly thought of a plan and informed them.

As they took their position, Aerodactyl had just knocked down the remaining guards and was now trying to break out of the enclosure.

Milotic and Weavile each formed an Ice Beam within their mouth. On his signal, they fired the Ice Beam at Aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl was caught off guard by their sneak attack, freezing nearly half of its body, and it wasn't over yet. Gardevoir followed by threw a Psychic blast at it that sent it flying toward Rhyperior.

"Now Rhyperior! Use Hammer Arm!"

He shouted.

"Roar!"

Rhyperior swung his glowing fist as hard as he could at Aerodactyl.

Bang!

The punch was extremely heavy that Aerodactyl was flung away and crashed onto the trees. Slowly, they approached it to check its condition. After seeing no movement from the Aerodactyl, he finally relaxed and put it away inside a Pokeball.

At this time, the guards had just woken up from their unconscious state and were shocked by the scene of destruction in front of them. Then, the captain of the guards came up to him and thanked him profusely for saving them.

Seeing quite a few of them were injured, he released Chansey and asked her to heal them. Later he and the captain of the guards put a handcuff on Aerodactyl and locked it up inside a cage.

"That's it all, sir. I don't think the reserve will be able to handle it anymore. I suggest that we send it away before it harms someone."

Said the captain of the guards.

Inside an office, Hisoka, Professor Oak, Professor Elm, and the captain of the guards were having a discussion on Aerodactyl's matter with the manager of the Ancient Pokemon Reserve, Ridge.

"Okay, but to whom should we send it?"

Ridge, the manager asked.

"I have a suggestion."

Everyone turned to Professor Oak, who said that just now.

"Why don't we let this guy take care of it?"

He pointed to Hisoka.

"Me?"

Hisoka pointed at himself.

"But what about the reserve? How are you going to maintain it without the Aerodactyl, which is the main attraction of this place?"

He questioned them.

"Don't worry about that. She had just given birth to a few eggs a month ago. We should be able to hold on until they hatch."

Professor Oak waved off his concern.

"What? She? It's female?"

He said with surprise. Who knew such a scary Pokemon turned out to be a female?

"Yes, yes. Here. Take her Pokeball. Make sure you treat her well, okay?"

Ridge quickly put the Pokeball in his hand and shooed him out of the office.

Hang on a second. Didn't he get any say in this?

***

"And that's how I became Hisoka's Pokemon."

Said Aerodactyl after swallowing a whole slice of steak.

"Actually, I don't want to stay with Hisoka. I used to be the leader of a large pack, you know. I miss the old days when I could fly freely in the sky."

She continued with a wistful look.

"Then why are you still following Hisoka now?"

Sitting in front of Aerodactyl and listening to the story was a small, rounded Pokemon with short legs and hands. He was blue, had a red underbelly, and looked somewhat like a shark. A baby shark, that was.

His pair of black eyes were filled with curiosity as he stared at Aerodactyl.

"The food is too delicious."

Gible:...

After finishing their lunch together, Gible bid farewell to Aerodactyl and walked away. On the way, he saw a few other Pokemon he knew and greeted them with a wave.

Thud!

Suddenly, he felt something hit his head. Looking down, he found that it was a banana peel. When he looked up, he saw his friend, Buneary, giggling at him from atop the tree.

"Sigh. Can you stop doing that?"

He said while rolling his eyes at her.

"Sorry, I was just playing around."

Said Buneary as she jumped down from the tree and walked up to him with a grin.

Uh oh. There was something wrong with that smile. She must be planning something.

"Why are you backing away, Gible?"

Said Buneary, smiling sweetly.

Yep, gotta run. In a flash, he was already gone before Buneary realized it.

"Come back! You can't escape from me."

Seeing Gible running away frantically, Buneary immediately gave chase.

(Hisoka's POV)

Argh!

Hmmm? What's that?

Hisoka, who was training the three new kids, suddenly heard a shout. When he turned in the direction of the sound, a little blue ball shot into his arms, surprising him.

However, he immediately knew who it was.

"What's wrong, Gible? Did Buneary bully you?"

He chuckled, patting his head.

Two months had passed since he returned from the nature reserve in Grampa Canyon, and he also got a new Pokemon with it. It took him a month just to get Aerodactyl to obey his order. Even so, she still ignored him sometimes. Well, at least he got a flying mount now.

In the past two months, he basically stayed at home, apart from doing a couple of B-level missions. He handed the rest of the gym matters to Ran while he became a hands-off gym leader. Basically, he was too lazy to care about the gym anymore.

He only intervened in the gym matters if there was a strong trainer that wanted to challenge the gym.

'And it looks like I have to take action today.'

He thought after seeing two people enter the gym - a boy and a girl. Both of them had brown hair and looked much older than Ran, around fifteen years old.

They managed to catch his interest. He could tell that they were strong. Their clothing was different from what the people living in Kanto or Johto used to wear. Also, he heard them talking just now. Their accent wasn't from Hoenn either, so these guys must be from another region besides the ones he mentioned earlier.
