Chereads / MARRIED TO A DEMON LORD / Chapter 88 - Next in line

Chapter 88 - Next in line

Elen watched Alexander wear his clothes. Her face was burning hot and he didn't seem to look fazed at all. Had he been this shameless? She asked herself and recalling Alexander could read her thoughts, she lowered her gaze and her thoughts wandered far.

Was he still angry? Seems like she would have to coax him? But how wou....

"How do you plan on coaxing me? You have very interesting thoughts you know? Very interesting." He mumbled the last one as he walked closer.

She gulped seeing him look at her with such intensity. "I don't know how I'll do that but I'll try." She said and Alexander hovered over her, his hands on each side of the bed, trapping her.

"Well, I want to see you try that." He said and he moved closer to kiss her neck. He heard her moan and a smile made it's way to his lips. No resistance for me. He thought.

Elen closed her eyes as she felt Alexander's lips on her neck. His hot breath caressing her skin. She felt him run his tongue on her skin and she didn't know why, her stomach churned. Was he going to bite her? Do demons survive on blood?

"I was not planning on biting you but you had brought up the thought so..." He said and he placed a kiss on her lips.

Okay, he had to stop reading her thoughts! She exclaimed in her mind and she saw him smile.

"I'll have someone do something about it." He assured her.

His lips moved from her lips to her neck. Elen shut her eyes tightly and held the sheets.

She felt his fangs graze on her skin, waiting for the pain. She felt a sharp pain on her neck. "Ahh!" She cried out, but soon it was gone and he drank blood from her.

When he was done, he licked the remainder of blood from her neck. She blushed and had her eyes lowered.

"Still shy?" He asked and she slightly nodded.

"We've done far more intimate things. I'll call for the maids." He said and she nodded.

.....

Alexander and Elen were heading towards the throne hall. The king had asked for them, Alexander was against meeting him but Elen had coaxed him into going, saying it might be something important.

Seeing his wife being persistent, he agreed. Holding her hands, his men stood behind him. They were all cautious as to not let anything happen anymore.

They walked through the hallways, the carriage was waiting outside for them. Alexander had ordered for the carriage to be arranged, as the throne hall was a bit far.

Reaching the carriage, Alexander held her hand and she smiled, squeezing it a bit.

They both got into the carriage, while the guards were walking right behind them.

...

Alexander helped Elen step out of the carriage, she gave him a warm smile. She could see he was trying his very best to help his situation, she didn't blame him. It was neither their fault.

"Shall we?" He said to her, and she nodded her head.

Reaching the throne hall, Elen could only gulp down her nervousness, she had thought this was going to be between family, how did the head council get involved??!

She lowered her gaze, not being able to keep up with the stares being thrown at her.

"Raise your shoulders high." Alexander whispered to her.

Hesitantly, she raised her head to see the people clearly, their brows were obviously creased and they had a look of disgust on their face. Why though? She didn't do anything to deserve such looks. She was the princess who was kidnapped here!!

Walking closer, she gave most of them a nervous smile which they didn't return back. Not that she minded it.

Alexander paused and it was then she realized she was supposed to take a seat. She was too engulfed in her thoughts.

She sat beside Alexander, his hands were on hers, making her feel complete, at least she didn't have to worry about being alone.

"Greetings your Majesty, you called for me." Alexander said, staring straight into his father's eyes.

"I did. I'd like to address on the issue that happened few days ago." The king said, and Elen creased her brows, few days? Everything happened within hours, a day maybe. Did she hear correctly? Of course she did!!

Alexander could hear his wife's thoughts and he couldn't help but give a small smile.

He leaned towards her, whispering into her ears. "The time in our realm and in the land of living is different. It may have occurred for few hours, but might have taken days here, do not panic." He explained to her and Elen squeezed his hands lightly, indicating that she understood.

The people there watched the couples, and felt utterly disgusted by their act. They were shameless enough to show affection in front of the king and council men!!

Alexander turned and sighed, before saying. "You would have addressed this in private, was it necessary to call these people?" Alexander said, and he could see their nerves popping out. He smiled inwardly at how these people were easy to rile up.

"Look, such disrespect. We can't make him king!" One of the councilmen said, others agreed to this, and the hall turned quite noisy.

"Silence!" The king said, and everyone had to keep their mouth shut.

"I was not done talking Mr Damian. It'd be better if you don't say a word more." The man clenched his fist and lowered his head at the king.

"Alexander, since Beowulf has decided to break the rules of the Royal family, I'd announce to everyone in here, on this very day, Alexander would be next in line after i'm gone." The king said, and once again murmurs filled up the room.

"We have no proof Beowulf kidnapped her, and even if he did, why would he? It's not something his highness would do." Damian said, he was the only one brave enough to speak.

"Your prince is not who he portrays himself as. He is cunning, and had made you people here, believe he's innocent." Alexander said.

"We need proof, not made-up words." Another councilman said.

"You can ask the lady here." Alexander simply said, and Elen turned to look at him, her eyes wide at the thought that she was going to answer to these people.

"You both planned everything, she's obviously going to support you, who wants to remain a princess and not a queen?" Damian said and Elen opened her mouth to speak. It seemed these people were in for a fight.

"I'm not so stupid to plan something as insensitive as that. I have a family, and they'll all be worried. Your accusations are baseless mister." Elen said with no ounce of fear at all.

"Well, people could do anything for power." The man said in a low voice, but Elen heard him. She was not going to let this go.

"Not everyone has the same mindset as you. Only people who are dumb and are being controlled would think that way." She said, and she saw the man flare up in anger.

"Your Majesty!" Damien looked at the king, he was being insulted by this little girl, and he was not doing anything about it.?!!

"I shall take my leave now." Alexander said, not wanting to stay there any longer. Although, it was getting entertaining with his dear wife throwing mud at them, he knew she really didn't feel comfortable here.

"Hold on, i have something to tell Elen." Arit said.

Elen turned to the king and waited patiently for what he had to say."

"Your parents were informed about your kidnap, they'll be here with a representative tomorrow to check on how you're doing." Arit said, and she nodded. She wanted to see both her parents but unfortunately, it's not possible they leave their kingdom.

"I'll be expecting." She said and he nodded slightly. Elen checked around for her mother-in-law but she couldn't find her. Not thinking much about it. She nodded her head at her Alexander, indicating they should leave now.

They both left to their quarters, Elen could see the hate most of the people in the room held for her. She hadn't done anything to deserve it. She was the one kidnapped!!

Sighing internally, she stepped into the carriage. She was already exhausted, and needed rest now.

She placed her head on Alexander's shoulders, his hand straightening her hair, making her want to doze off. She didn't know her husband was this gentle, she thought with a smile on her lips.

"For you, I'll be gentle." He said to her, kissing her forehead lightly.

"Bruce, is he really your guard?" Elen asked, many things were hidden from her and she needed to know.

"He's a friend." Alexander said and her mouth formed an 'O'

"I missed you so much when I was away from you." She said in a whisper.

"I'm here now, you don't have to worry anymore. The security would be tightened from now. We'll have more guards stationed at both our chambers." He explained to her and she nodded.
