Chereads / MARRIED TO A DEMON LORD / Chapter 85 - Fangs

Chapter 85 - Fangs

Beowulf stood unmoving while he watched Alexander's men try to help him.

Useless piece of trash. He thought to himself. His smile never leaving his face as he watched his beloved brother suffer right in front of his eyes.

Alexander watched Elen's body, it laid there unmoving and cold. This had to be a dream! He wanted to wake up from this nightmare but had no idea how to. This shouldn't have happened! His wife died right in front of his eyes and he couldn't do anything.

Just then, something happened which none of them believed could happen. Golden lights surrounded Elen's chest, like it was healing her. Out of instinct, Beowulf took a step back. What was happening?

The lights stayed there for a few minutes before it disappeared but nothing happened. Strange. They thought. They're hopes were high.

While they were all recovering from the shock that took place, they heard Elen cough, their eyes widened. Did she just return from the dead.

The Golden lights returned but this time covered her whole body making Alexander anxious. What was happening?

Few seconds later, she stood up with the lights gone, she looked energetic and didn't seem to be in pain anymore. But the bruises on her body were visible.

"Alex." She went to hug him. She remembered everything that had happened in the past minutes, she remembered feeling pain after she had removed the sword before she lost consciousness.

She woke up feeling light headed and she guessed that she was no more living. A woman approached her. She looked beautiful, her skin glowed, so peaceful, she thought.

"Where is this place?" She asked the woman.

"The afterlife." She said and Elen trembled, her husband. Was she really dead?

"I want to go back. I can't stay here. Alex, he needs me."

"You'll go. You don't belong here. Just close your eyes and don't think about anything. Feel the peace." The woman said in a gentle and soothing voice.

Elen did as she was told but no matter how she tried, Alex's bloody image rose in her mind.

"I can't." She told the woman and the woman came closer and whispered something she couldn't understand, and she closed her eyes as she said.

Everything turning peaceful before she found herself here, back on earth. She knew there are some things she might have missed and it bothered her, but she didn't want to think about it now.

She remembered the woman telling her to give her blood to Alexander, and like a light bulb appeared in her head, her eyes lit up in hope.

She couldn't understand why Alexander had to drink her blood but if it would bring him back to his normal state, then she did not mind at all.

Beowulf stood there, recovering from his shock. He spoke. "Attack! Kill them now! I want them dead! All of them!" He ordered but Alexander's men were quick to attack. They didn't want what happened few minutes ago to happen all over. They were given another chance, and they'll do it right.

They fought with the rest of Beowulf's men, giving Elen and Alexander space, while also making sure none of them got to the couple.

"Alex. You need to drink my blood. Please drink it. You're losing a lot of blood." She pleaded.

"No, I can't do that." He said but she shook her head.

"You have to drink it Alexander. If you die, I won't live. I'll kill myself." She said in desperation and Alexander gritted his teeth, and he slowly nodded.

His healing would take time, and drinking blood would restore his lost blood but he couldn't guarantee he wouldn't hurt her.

Seeing his hesitation, she spoke. "Quick Alex! You're running out of time."

She moved closer and he grabbed her neck with all the strength he could muster, his fangs grew and in less than seconds, he began to drink blood out of her. Her blood tasted sweet yet heavenly, something he hadn't tasted before.

Elen waited for him to drink her blood, even though she didn't know how he was going to do it, she still anticipated it. Seconds passed by and she felt a sharp pain erupt her neck but all too soon it was gone, and she didn't know why she felt it to be pleasurable. She softly moaned feeling Alex use his tongue to run it over her neck. He gently pulled away and kissed her neck.

Alexander strangely felt energized even though, he took a little amount of blood from his wife. There was more to her that none of them knew.

He helped her stand and he pulled her for a hug, she noticed his wounds had healed but she didn't question it. By now, she already knew he was not a normal human.

"Are you alright?" She asked and he smiled. The smile that he rarely gave her but fell for it.

"Never like before." He said and she hugged him tighter.

He pulled away looking intensely at her. "I want you to stay here. Don't go anywhere. I'll deal with Beowulf." He said and she nodded.

"Please be careful." She said and he kissed her on the lips.

"I will, wife." He said and with that, he left with the sword while giving her a dagger to defend herself if at all anyone came to attack her. She was thankful to her father that he had educated her on these things so it shouldn't be a problem. She also heard him saying, if at all any of the enemies came to her. She should aim for their ribs or spine.

She stood there watching them fight. She silently prayed to God to help her husband and the rest of his men because they were greatly outnumbered.

.....

"I see the poison didn't affect you much. Your wife seems more intriguing, I'll save her from death then. While I kill you." He said and Alexander smirked. Their swords clashing against each other.

"Do you still want to try? I don't think that would be good of an idea." Alexander said and Beowulf chuckled.

"You think I'd let you have the throne? Never! I promise not to leave you here alive."

"Knowing that you're a threat to my wife makes me want the throne now. I never wanted it but you've pushed me. And about keeping me alive, we'll see about that." He said as he slashed Beowulf's arms making him groan in pain.

"The sword is still poisoned so you'll feel the pain ten times more. Aren't I a thoughtful brother?" Alexander asked seeing Beowulf widen his eyes and it was all he needed to pierce the sword right through his rib. He knew he wouldn't die but it would keep him away from his wife for two weeks or a month.

"Ahhhh!" They heard a scream, and they knew who it belonged to. It was Beowulf.

Beowulf's men dropped their swords, and as if the spell cast on them extinguished they disappeared from the area, leaving Beowulf, Alexander and the rest of the men.

Alexander walked away from Beowulf and walked towards his wife who looked like she was trembling.

He pulled her closer to his body and kissed the top of her head. "It's all over now. We're going back home." He consoled her.

"A-alex. Please...." He heard her say and she felt limp in his arms which made him panic, but when he heard her uneven breathing, he found out she had lost consciousness.

"Let's go." He said to his men and they disappeared from the area within a blink of an eye.

"Hope you enjoy your treat?" Alexander said to Beowulf and he also disappeared with the unconscious Elen.
