Lucas was pacing back and forth, thinking about what could be happening in Beowulfs quarters, as much as he wanted to leave to check, he couldn't and could only pave back and forth like he was doing now, he turned to the left and that was when he noticed three silhouette coming towards his direction. He recognized them immediately and relief washed over him but then anger took over his rationality. Where did they go in the first place?! Lucas was sure that they knew what happened but chose to stay back which made him wonder 'why?' Did they have their reasons for doing so?
The three silhouette approached him and he could now see their faces clearly. Robert, Amadeus and Bruce. They looked fine, they didn't look like they had any struggle or something which made Lucas crease his brows. He was about to speak when....
"Lucas!" It was Bruce who called and Lucas turned his head towards the source of voice and gritted his teeth. 'I still need to greet him even after everything he had done!'
"Greetings lord Bruce." Lucas said with his head lowered a little.
Bruce approved with a slight nod and spoke further. "I know you have many questions in mind but don't ask them now. You'll understand everything in the near future and if you still don't, I'll have to explain it to you." Bruce spoke under one breathe and Lucas instantly realized that even if he asked till his throat ran dry, he would never get any answer. Besides, Robert and Amadeus weren't an option, they wouldn't even budge. Sighing, he turned to his comrades and explained everything but they just nodded as if they knew everything before. A realization struck on Lucas head and he turned to look at Robert with wide eyes. Robert noticed this gesture and he raised a brow.
"H-h-his highness. He's in there and I don't know what's happening now. Finn and Lago had gone to check but they haven't returned yet." Lucas said. He felt useless for not being able to protect his prince.
"I'll go." Bruce who had heard their conversation said. Lucas had been suspecting him for some reason but he knew he couldn't object to it and just clenched his teeth.
"But please report back if there are any issues." Lucas said with a pleading voice. He knew he couldn't be arrogant so he could only forcefully put his pride and plead with him. It was silent for a while until Bruce replied with a low 'mm.'
"Sigh...I need to clean up Alexander's mess." He mumbled before he left.
Lucas calmed a bit as he saw Bruce's silhouette disappear towards Beowulf's quarters. His mind was now focused on how to find the princess but the question was 'where?' Beowulf wouldn't be foolish to hold her captive in this kingdom as it would be very easy to find her. He must have taken her to a place beyond anyone's comprehension and it would be a bit difficult to go there.
Lucas breathed in and out as he gazed at Robert and Amadeus who had cold and severe expressions on0 their faces. They looked tensed but at the same time calm which confused Lucas. 'I must have gone crazy by now.' He commented in his head.
He gazed at the two back and forth, trying so hard to read their expressions but the cheerful Robert was worse. One couldn't even guess what he was thinking. If he had been his normal self, his expression would have been easier to understand but he's a changed person now.
Deciding in who to interrogate, he chose Robert. Well, he was the one who would at least, try to answer.
"Robert can you explain why you didn't return as earlier expected." Lucas asked and as he expected, his question was followed with silence but Lucas was shocked that he spoke.
"We were attacked." He said simply and Lucas raised a brow indicating that he didn't believe a word he said.
"But you look okay to me." Lucas asked with an accusing voice. Not expecting him to speak further, he spoke again.
"That's because those people were cunning and we needed to keep caution so as not to get the princess harmed. They looked like they could do anything if we acted funny so we could only keep cool with them, but we later diverted their attention and we escaped their sight but before we escaped, I manipulated them into believing what I wanted them to."
"How did you do that?" Lucas asked with curiosity.
"That's for another time...."
"I know there's more to this but you are not willing to share it with me."
"You'll understand sooner. Just be patient." Robert said and Lucas nodded. It was even a surprise that he answered his questions.
"But I'm sure you know his highness' temperament by now. It's not easy to calm him down unless he spills some blood."
"Yet Beowulf deserve every bit of his anger." Robert commented with clenched teeth.
"But still, he's the crown prince and he shouldn't die so easily. He needs to have a more painful death. I think his highness is going too soft on him." Amadeus spoke and Lucas meaningfully nodded.
"I think I have an idea where the princess might be." Robert said and Lucas nodded.
"I too, also have that feeling they took her there." Lucas agreed.
"We'll need to find a way to go there but we can't without his highness." Robert spoke .
"We can't wait for his highness to regain his sanity. We need to find a way!" Amadeus said.
...
Bruce walked through the hallways in Beowulfs quarters. He saw the blood splattered everywhere and he shook his head like an old man and sighed. "Seems like he still has that mad temperament. Mmm, it's been a long time I witnessed this behaviour from him." He mumbled.
He saw some half-dead guards on the floor and he could only mumble in a low voice. "Seems they are bent on escaping here. He said as he twisted one of their fingers with his feet but they only flinched but nothing came out of their mouths. "Too weak to scream? Hah!"
His sight followed where he heard noises from and he hastily walked there. He could hear agonizing screams, pleading to be left alone but it seems the predator wouldn't let go easily until it devours its prey.
"The only time a saw a sight like this was years ago and that was from Bianca. Seems he cares about his wife a lot." He said loudly, loud enough for anyone close to him to hear. Luckily, there was no one.
The door to the chambers was opened, though he would have preferred a dramatic entrance, he still took it this way.
His sight moved to Lago who was trying his possible best to get the princes' attention but he ended up thrown to the other side of the room or being totally ignored.
"Sigh... Alexander's not going to be easily tamed. How do I stop him?" He mumbled as he strode towards Finn and Lago.
"Finn!" He said and Finn craned his neck towards the source of that voice and it could be evident that relief washed his face. 'Thank goodness he's here. He's the only one who can tame his highness.'
"Lord Bruce." Finn said with his head lowered a little. Lago came towards their direction as he sensed Bruces' presence, he told him about the situation and Bruce calmly nodded.
"Don't you think Beowulf should experience his brothers' anger a bit? It's not as if he's going to die!" Bruce said with a sly grin.
"You're right but we still need his highness to find the princess. He's not going to stop unless you tell him to. You know his highness by now." Finn commented.
"Rest assured. I'll stop him." Bruce assured them and he moved towards Alexanders' direction. "This monster! Beowulf you should thank me that I'm going to save your royal ass." He muttered.
"Where is my wife!!!" Alexander deafening scream echoed in the room.
'He still knows his wife even in this state?'
"Alex...!" Bruce yelled out his name but it didn't stop him from flinging Beowulf away.
"Alexander stop!" Bruce yelled again and for a moment he stopped but then continued his monstrous torture.
"Would doing this help you find your wife? You need to stop this and find her. Killing Beowulf won't bring her back. Stop." Bruce said under one breathe but Alexander didn't mind what he was saying, more like he didn't even hear what was being said to him.
"Do you think if Helena saw you this way, she would ever be able to stay close to you? She would fear you for the rest of her life. Is that what you want? Do you want her to fear you? She would hate you Alexander, she would."
