"You can cry all your eyes out, I've made my decision and whether you like it or not, you're going to do as I say!" Helena's dad roared out.
"Father please understand that I want what you and Mom share, I don't want to get married to a total stranger. I want to get married to a person who loves me wholeheartedly. Just give me more time. I can't marry him, I just can't do it father." Helena pleaded. She knew it was pointless but she was going to try it anyway.
Lucid, Helena's father turned to his wife. "Make her understand,and tell her I'm not going to change my mind." He told her.
Emilia gave her husband a pleading look but he didn't seem to budge.
Lucid turned to leave but Helena stopped him. "Father won't you do this one thing for me?" Lucid had always loved his daughter and provided everything for her but he couldn't accept this her demand.
"I'm speaking to you as a king and not a father now, respect my decision and think of this as a sacrifice for the throne. You know why I'm doing this so don't say anything about this matter anymore. You'll be getting married next week and don't even think of escaping." It took him a lot of strength to say those words to his beloved daughter, he never wanted things to turn out this way for him or his daughter but he had to do this to save the throne.
"Father..." She fell on her knees and broke down in tears. She was a strong woman who hardly cries. She never showed any of her distaste out but this was too much, she couldn't control her emotions. She stopped crying and wiped her tears away while her mom was coaxing her. Her father had already left and had made his final decision.
She would think of this as a sacrifice for the throne and respect her father's decision. She would sacrifice herself to save the throne by marrying that stranger.
It was a normal occurrence for princesses to get married to other princes or kings but this particular prince was rumoured to be one of the wealthiest demon lord. She even heard from people that he was the devil himself, not that rumors affected her but she couldn't help but feel scared. What happens if these rumors were actually true. No! She shouldn't believe them. She'll not believe any of it.
"Helena everything would be okay, don't worry. You have to do this for your father. Do it to save this kingdom. Okay." Her mother said.
Helena knew her parents didn't have a male child and their only hope was for her to get married. When she turned seventeen, people had started asking the king when she would get married but he ignored all their rants. Since she was a female and can't rule,she has to get married to secure the throne. Her father had brought in many suitors but she didn't like any of them and the last one he told her about was the prince of Lucrain. She hadn't met him, her father only told her she would get married to him.
Lucrain was a large kingdom in the northern part of Europe known for their power and vast resources, she heard the rumors of the prince and she couldn't help but feel scared. How will she be able to get married to a person rumoured to be one of the wealthiest demon lord.
She objected the marriage and her father told her that she has no choice but to marry him.
She had wished to get married based on love and not some arranged marriage but it seemed she asked for too much knowing she was a princess.

She woke up from her wild thoughts when her mother called her name.
"Helena,I'm leaving now...if you need anything just call the maids to get it for you and don't cry okay." She said and just like that her mom left.
When her mom left, the tears she had been holding back came gushing out. She cried her eyes out until she fell asleep.
