"We have no chance of winning this."
Deva muttered as she clenched her hands and gritted. Her crimson Dragonoid eyes are still filled with rage, but she can still do logical decisions even though she already lost her cool-headedness.
I didn't speak. I just focused on pressing the wound on my stomach so that blood would stop gushing out.
Deva turned to me with a defeated smile. "I'm sorry, Uly. I know that the bastard just killed three important persons in our lives, but I can't fight him even in this form. It gives a bad aftertaste in my mouth to flee, but we have no choice."
Deva touched her chest, and a blinding flash spread out. The villainess completely transformed into a gigantic black Cyber Angel Dragon. Her sword wings spread out as her hand gently grabbed my powerless body.
"If I have to choose between my hopeless revenge and your life, I will gladly choose the latter." Cyber Angel Dragon telepathically said.
A rainbow halo was created behind her sword wings. With a kick from the ground, the Cyber Angel Dragon boosted through the air, away from the Lancelot Manor.
"Hanna, what about Yifus? Are you leaving your little brother behind?" I asked.
"Yifus will be safe. There's an underground bunker just below the piano in the recreation room. That's the main reason why I asked him to go there in case of emergencies like these." My Cyber Angel Dragon telepathically answered. "I'll try to recover him after this."
With a speed of a jet plane, we immediately flew towards the stratosphere. The Lancelot Manor now looks like a dot at this distance and altitude.
However, it was foolish for us to even attempt to escape.
A swift jolt of headache happened once again, both me and my Cyber Angel Dragon. There was another static, and…
We ended up right in front of the Lancelot Manor, back in the first-floor hallway. I briefly looked around and saw that the manor looks clean and undamaged as if the battle did not happen in this very place.
"W-What are we doing here?" Yehanna asked.
"Hanna, your Deva Transformation!" I cried.
Yehanna looked at her hands and noticed that she was no longer a dragon, but back in her plain old human form. Both our eyes widened in shock.
"Playtime is over, Ulysses Corasell."
Chills went down on our spines as we heard that deep voice. When we turned around, the horrifying bloodshot glare of Rex Nullius' red eyes with black sclera jump scared us! And he's just close, not even a meter away!
"You!" Yehanna attempted to draw her sword, but she noticed that she doesn't have it. She doesn't have any weapons, not even her giant pistols!
All of a sudden, Rex Nullius grabbed Yehanna's throat and raised her above. For some reason, Yehanna failed to give any resistance. It's as if she's paralyzed.
"Gah!" The dark-blue-haired lady cried as she gasp for air.
"Hanna!" I used the last ounce of my strength to charge at the enemy, but then Rex Nullius stabbed me with her silver sword in his other hand! "Guh!"
Finally losing all the energy in my body made me fall on my butt. There are already two fatal wounds in me, one from my stomach, and one from my heart. I'm running out of blood. It will be just a few minutes before I pass out.
"H-Hanna…" I tried to reach out.
"U-Uly…" Yehanna managed to speak even though her windpipes are starting to be crushed.
I looked at Rex Nullius who have this smug on his face while he was busily choking Yehanna with one hand. He pressed his face closer to take a look at Yehanna's eyes.
"Look at your beautiful Dragonoid Contractor. Those crimson mystical eyes are wasted on Dragonoids like her."
"Let her go!" I cried and coughed blood at the same time.
"I'll give you a free tip on my Dragon Sage Thesis, which is Reality Negation. If you implant formidable Dragonoid eyes to you, an Adeptus of all magic, you will be given the ability to read the forbidden scriptures and manipulate the fabrics of the universe. You can be as powerful as me… No, even more, powerful than me. Hell, these eyes of Lady Lancelot are much better than the one I stole from her poor little brother."
"You're nuts! Let her go!" I cried. I felt blood flowing out of my eyes, my ears, and my nose.
There was another reality alteration once again as I sensed static. When I came to, I realized that Yehanna is already crucified in a monolith, with silver swords pinning her hands and feet. She's unconscious but seemed to be breathing.
I looked around and saw the clear blue skies with fluffy clouds. I looked at the ground, which seemed to be a white platform that extends to the horizon. This place is like a heaven of nothingness.
"You were the aggressors, so I fought back. I never intended to harm you and your people."
It was Rex Nullius who talked. He kept this irritating smile on his face, but the pressure and threat are gone. I could no longer feel any hostile intent at him, maybe because his crazy horrifying eyes are now closed.
I just gritted. I want to go into my battle mode and clenched my fists. But then, I noticed that my wounds are all gone. My body has recovered to full health, and even my mana is in full tank.
"What the hell is going on?" I mumbled.
"I told you before. I just came here to talk."
Rex Nullius is holding a hard-bound grimoire. He presented it to me, but I didn't take it.
"Dragon Sage Thesis: Deus Ultimum" I read the title out loud.
"It translates to the Ultimate God." Rex Nullius explained as he walked around me with his arms behind him. "That Dragon Sage Thesis will be the highest-ranking of them all as it involves creating an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent artificial deity. The old gods in the old cults are nothing to this 'thing' I'm trying to create. Not even the past Demon Lord or the Light Goddess can compete with Deus Ultimum. I want to create an artificial machine to be the one true God."
"You're crazy." I chuckled.
"That doesn't put me apart from you. Aren't we all Dragon Sages crazy people?" Rex Nullius smiled. "You've seen how fucked up most Dragon Sage Thesis are. Compared to other mad experiments, this one is the best. With an omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient machine, we can create a perfect world. No more wars, no more hunger, no more conflict. We can create a paradise world in the land of mortals."
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked. "What do your perfect ideals and Dragon Sage Thesis have to do with me?"
"Well, I had met some problems. I have already perfected an omnipotent spell, and I am currently working on an omnipresent machine." Rex Nullius stopped walking and offered the book once again. "I've read your thesis draft in the library. The omniscient spell, Timeline Prediction, is being developed by you. If you succeed, we can consolidate our Dragon Sage Theses to create Deus Ultimum."
"You mean you want me to work with you?" I asked with a smile on my face. It's laughable.
But Rex Nullius is serious. I can see it in his voice and his face.
"No. I want you to inherit my thesis. You will be my successor, and become a Dragon Sage above all."
