Chapter 32 - CHAPTER 32

I pulled out my pocketknife and slashed my palm, and red liquid dropped in an instant. I closed my eyes and chanted with my mana flowing through my blood.

"With the power of my blood, I summon my Dragonoid Contractor."

A magical circle in front of me spread out, and a pillar of light was formed. When the illuminating tower faded, a priestess with long wavy pink hair appeared. Her crimson eyes glimmered with kindness.

"Odette Fellglaze has answered your summons, Milord." The priestess muttered with a smile.

"I'm sorry, Odette. This is an immediate emergency quest. I will need your power." I said as I equipped my Dragon Seal glove.

"It's okay!" Odette vigorously shook her head. "I am your Dragonoid Contractor, so I must aid you when in need."

I just smiled before having my Dragon Seal gloves touch her heart.

"Dragon Seal Unlock!"

In an instant, Odette turned into a big pink eel-like dragon with a lion's head. Now on her Pearl Dragon form, she is easily swimming in midair. I hopped on top of her head and showed her my Dragon Sage badge that reveals a hologram map.

"Go to this location, quick!" I commanded.

"Wilco!" The Pearl Dragon was telepathically approved. She started to surge forward with full throttle.

Pearl Dragon is not as fast as Cyber Angel Dragon, but it can fly, or rather swim in midair, at the speed of a helicopter. We reached the outer part of the collapsed district in just a matter of a minute.

I saw six other choppers who just passed unto us. To the military, they see me as a Dragon Sage who shall rescue a military general. They identify me as their ally. Their target is the one and only Deva in her Cyber Angel Dragon form, who's busy battling the Lightning Dragon and the Leaf Dragon. But just before they could get in range, the Cyber Angel Dragon noticed them.

The Cyber Angel Dragon's orb on its chest charged photons and then unleashed a celestial blaster that swept the army's helicopters in one go. When the small fries has been eliminated, the Cyber Angel Dragon proceeded on fighting the two enemy dragons.

"That idiot, spending my mana as she pleases," I muttered.

"Eh?" My Pearl Dragon reacted. "Is something bothering you, Lord Corasell?"

I shook my head. "Nothing."

I should be careful about muttering words when Odette is around. She doesn't know any of our secrets. I left her in the dark because her best friend is Princess Amaryllis, and we already know that Princess Amaryllis and Ross are strongly against Deva.

That's how Odette should be though. I want her to keep her innocence until Yehanna's revenge has been done. A Divine Priestess like her is not meant to bear the weight of us sinners and killers.

Five minutes, we finally landed on the remains of the Magnus Tower. The ruins are deeply fortified by Claire Magnus' bodyguards, and they have already set up a barricade to repel any incoming mafia hooligans. There are about three roadblocks of soldiers, so the Jogudra Mafia will take time before reaching the target.

The soldiers didn't even attempt to hold me down. I'm their much-awaited reinforcement from the Dragon Sage Library after all.

I saw the glass bunker. My Pearl Dragon immediately descended and laid me back to the ground when she saw General Claire Magnus waiting.

"You finally arrived." The red-haired Claire Magnus held her hips. "I thought Dragon Sages would just ignore my emergency quest. Good thing the princess-saver is here to help."

"I am not worthy of your praises, Milady." I briefly bowed. "How can I be of assistance?"

"You only brought a Pearl Dragon, huh?" Claire Magnus crossed her arms below her big breasts. "Can you find my other Dragonoid Contractors? My Boulder Dragon and Fire Dragon still seem to be alive, and they are buried in the tenth block."

"Roger that." I saluted, then turned around. I was about to leave but then-

"I'll come with you." Claire Magnus pulled my sleeve. When I looked at her, she turned away with reddish cheeks. "It pains me to say this, but I need the protection of a fellow Dragon Sage. Until my dragons have recovered of course."

I can't help but grin, but I immediately erased it by making an innocent smile. "Of course, my fellow sage. Let's go."

We both rode on my Pearl Dragon's neck. When we are ready to go, my Pearl Dragon boosted into the air.

On the way, we saw some wounded civilians crying for help in the streets. There are women, children, and even senior citizens who are covered with blood. The way I look at them from above made my heart fill with sorrow. They are just unlucky people who are just caught in this mess.

"Lord Corasell, those people… They need help." My Pearl Dragon telepathically said.

"Right. Go heal them." I replied.

"Okay!" My Pearl Dragon jollily said as she started to slow down and lose altitude.

"Wait, what!?" Claire Magnus exclaimed. "I thought you are going to help me retrieve my dragons?"

"We will heal your dragons right after we heal the innocent civilians that are caught in this mess," I said.

"Unbelievable!" Claire Magnus frowned and looked away. "You're a useless Dragon Sage, I give you that!"

Well, there goes the real Claire Magnus. She's just as arrogant as they described. However, I just ignored her.

We already landed near the injured people who are quite scared of the Pearl Dragon. To remove the tension, my Pearl Dragon transformed back to her normal human form, and she greeted the panicking civilians.

"Good evening to you all. I am not an enemy. I'm just here to help." Odette said like a saint.

The Divine Priestess approached one of the old women who has a bleeding forehead and fractured knee. She held the old woman's head and chanted her healing spell.

"With the power of light, I command thee, to heal this woman's wounds!"

Light showered upon the old woman, and slowly, her wounds started to heal as if time is being reversed. Even the wrongly-bent knee of the old woman returned to normal. Other people's sadness turned to hope when they saw the miraculous healing magic that Odette just performed.

"T-Thank you!" The old woman happily held Odette's hands.

"Ahaha! It's my job to cure your injuries." Odette innocently laughed. Then she turned to the other injured civilians. "So, who's next?"

Suddenly, a fireball surged towards a by-standing civilian, blasting him into burnt chunks of meat. All people who witnessed that terrible turn of events became afraid.

The caster of the fireball was none other than the sadistic red-haired Dragon Sage. She just killed a civilian with cold blood.

"My dragons will be next." Claire Magnus displayed the face of a smiling devil as she lowered her sword-wand. "Don't waste your time and mana to these useless civilians. Let me make myself clear; I sent the emergency quest, not those worthless bugs! You should be helping me first, and not them!"

"General Claire Magnus." I glared at the bitchy Dragon Sage. "Are you implying that we should leave these civilians here to die?"

"Of course! Their lives are worthless and of no value! They are weak, powerless, and fragile! They are nothing but disgusting insects who are meant to be trampled!" Claire Magnus roared.

There were a few seconds of silence. All the injured civilians around us started to get scared. Odette also did not move an inch. Only I was able to react. I smiled and shrugged.

"Fair point." I raised my shoulders.

"Eh?" Odette reacted. "Lord Corasell…"

I looked at the Divine Priestess and issued my order. "Odette, keep healing the civilians."

"Eh?" Odette tilted her head. After half a second, she smiled and pumped her fists. "Wilco!"

"Such impudence!" Claire Magnus pointed the gem-tipped hilt of her sword to me. "You are a disgrace to the Dragon Sage Library! You should know that the lives of my dragons are greater than those useless civilians!"

"Maybe." I slightly tilted my head, then gave her a deathly glare and a cold wide smile. "But to me, those civilians' lives are much greater than yours."

"You fucking little shit!" Claire Magnus cried as she chanted mana on her sword-wand. "Burn to crisps! Fireball!"

A basketball-sized sphere of flames rushed towards me.

However, it didn't reach.

A wall of black flames protected me from the fireball. The blazing dark barrier just merged with the burning sphere.

All of a sudden, the black firewall extended and encircled the bitchy Dragon Sage. She's now completely trapped.

"What the hell!? Who did this!?" Claire Magnus cried.

"It is me." A familiar voice said.

Walking in tall black high-heels, wearing her black nightgown and furry coat, the Mafia Leader has appeared. Her long crimson brown hair danced as she walked through the black flames, fully unburnt. Her pale-white flawless skin became visible in the night. Her pipe unleashed dark smoke that mixed in the air.

"You are…" Claire Magnus muttered. "Marina Jogudra!"

"Yes." Marina's crimson eyes are full of rage that has been saved for years. "Claire Magnus, I will be your enemy."
