Chapter 20 - CHAPTER 20

My mornings didn't change much after I moved in to live in the Lancelot Manor.

Just like back in my parent's basement, I was always awakened by some pesky woman. My mother has been replaced by Yehanna herself pulling the curtains so that the sunlight would raid on my face.

Then and there, I would go up and do my morning routine: wash my face, brush my teeth, and wax my hair upwards to look handsome. Then, I would go join Yehanna and Little Yifus for breakfast at a long stylish dining table that is mostly empty.

"Good morning, Handsome Big Bro!" Yifus would greet me with a smile after hearing my footsteps.

"Good morning, Yifus." I greeted back.

For most of the time, Yehanna would be greeting me happy too just like her little brother. That happened like a routine for the past three days of my stay here. However, right now, Yehanna seemed to be out of energy. She even has eye bags on her face.

"Good morning, midnight panda." I joked.

"Good morning, Uly," Yehanna said before uttering a silent but long yawn. I see she's out of the mood for some teasing and jokes.

"Here is your breakfast, my lords and ladies." Sebastian entered the dining room and revealed trays of our breakfast food. It consists of a mountain of bacon, sunny-side-up eggs, and salad. It's a pretty simple breakfast, but it's plentiful for just the three of us.

Yehanna served slices of bacon and eggs to her little brother's plate. She even feeds Yifus before she even begins to put food on her plate. What a thoughtful big sister she is.

"I can do it already, sis! I'm old enough!"

"Fine." Yehanna sighed with a smile as she withdrew from her brother.

Yifus would use the fork and do some trial and error until he stabs one of the bacon strips and a piece of egg and puts it in his mouth. Sometimes, he would get no food for his fork, and sometimes, it falls off. Yifus would get pissed at those instances where he fail to take a bite of his breakfast.

Eating with a fork and knife while you're blind is almost impossible to do if you're still a kid.

"You can use your hand for better grasps of the food," I muttered.

"Really?" Yifus cheered. "But my sister always forbids me to use my hand while eating."

"It's for proper table manners, Yifus," Yehanna said.

"It's just three of us here. There's no need for manners! Just claw that greasy bacon out and eat like a hungry bear!" I pumped my fists.

"Okay!" Yifus cheered. He threw away his fork and knife and started to chow down like an hungered animal. "Eating with your hands is the best!"

Yehanna just sighed defeated. She does not have any energy to protest or feed her brother like they used to. She just started to eat with only potato salad on her plate.

Right after eating our breakfast, we would say goodbye to Yifus before going off to work. Sebastian will be taking care of the poor little blind boy while the big sister is away.

It slightly surprised me when we opened the wide garage. It's now empty, contrary to the past three days where there's the giant broken vault with cash oozing out. Right now, the vault nor the money is no longer there. The garage only contains the limousine, a motorcycle, and the black car that Yehanna often uses to drive her way to the Dragonoid Military Academy or the Dragon Sage Library.

Living with Yehanna has its benefits, and one of those is free rides. Sometimes if we get lazy or late, I just turn her into a dragon and blast off until we reach our destination in a snap of a finger.

My Dragonoid Contractor seems to be especially tired today, so I know we'll be using her car for transport.

As soon as the engine roared, I turned on my phone to check for the news. Right at the headlines, I saw what I expected to be seen.

"Deva gave off money to the 5th, 6th, and 7th district slums at late night!"

"The corrupt Director's Money Vault was seen hovering around the slums at around midnight, showering cash!"

"It's raining bills, worth millions! It's Deva's doing!"

I smiled as I leaned on the leathery car seat. Deva's reputation is getting better and better.

"I only got two hours of sleep for raining those cash the whole night." Yehanna sighed. "But everything went according to your plan. I returned the money that was taken away from the people."

"How about your money, Hanna?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter. Apsara Industries is not even close to being bankrupt. I also don't need the money, so I gave it all to the people."

"Wait, so you just threw all the money to the slums like a bucket of water?" I cried. "And there's nothing left?"

"You sound disappointed," Yehanna said as she steered the wheel for the car to make a swift turn. Then the very first teasing smile in the morning emerged on her face. "You want the spoils too, huh?"

"Y-Yeah." I sighed. "Well, it's fine if I don't get something, but-"

Yehanna pulled something from her cleavage, and it's a bundle of cash. "Here."

My eyes twinkled in disbelief, not in amazement. I refused to take that bundle of cash from her hands.

"Why are you always hiding something on your breast? You act like it's a magical dimensional pocket that can store futuristic gadgets."

"Teehee~" Yehanna chuckled. "Are you going to take it, or not?"

"I'll take it!" I tried to snatch the bundle of cash from her hand, but she pulled it away. Then she parked the car and turned the car engine off.

"We're here." Yehanna grinned as she hurriedly opened the door and went out of her car.

It took me a whole second to realize that we're already at the front of the Dragon Sage Library. There are already a lot of cars parked in this lot, which means this is the very start of the busy morning.

"Damn it! She's on her Teasing Mode again!" I punched the air. "I hate it when she plays around me!"

I deeply inhaled and exhaled at a slow pace. Then, I went out of the car and started to follow the jolly Yehanna, who is happily humming the symphony her little brother used to play on the piano.

Before we reach the front desk of the library, Yehanna stopped and stretched out her hand, giving away the bundle of cash. "Here."

I tried to take it, but she pulled it away again. "This bitch!" I muttered inside my mind.

"I'll give you your reward if you promise that you'll reward me too for the things I have done!" Yehanna grinned.

"What reward are you talking about?"

"Come on, I've been running and flying around according to your orders without question. I even slept too little last night because I was following your philanthropist plan, wearing that lewd costume you designed and doing political ally-of-justice corny speeches in front of the people." Yehanna pouted.

"Fine. What is this reward you want then?"

"Hmm..." Yehanna crossed her arms and squinted her eyes. Then she pushed her face forward and raised her index finger. "How about a date?"

"D-Date!?" I was caught off guard. I blushed for a moment.

"Yep, yep!" Yehanna nodded with energy as if she just replenished it for eight hours of sleep. "Come to think of it, we've never eaten a lunch or dinner with just the two of us~"

Oh yeah, we've never eaten together except for breakfast with his butler and little brother. We don't also eat together during lunch or dinner. If she just wanted some time to be casual and talk about ourselves privately, then I could deal with that.

"Deal."

"Okay then." Yehanna finally surrendered the precious cash to me. "There's this romantic movie I've been eyeing since last year. I'm going to reserve two tickets for this Sunday~"

Yehanna hopped on with a smile on her face as we entered the library.

Well, look at that, an assassin who thirsts for revenge is interested in romantic movies like normal women of her age. Villainess like her have a heart too, and she still deserves some small happiness in her life.

Before I could surrender my Dragon Sage badge to the front desk officer, a familiar voice called my attention.

"Ulysses!"

When I turned around, I was surprised. It was my silver-haired white knight friend, Ross, together with the adorable Princess Amaryllis. They both have this smile on their face that would brighten up my morning.

There's a third-person behind the couple. It was a teenage girl, with bright pink wavy hair and crimson Dragonoid eyes. Her skin is porcelain white, and her cheeks are strawberry red. Despite the shrinking violet look of the beautiful pink-haired girl, she gives off a bright aura. She's wearing a white-and-blue priestess' robe, and she's holding a scepter with fuchsia crystal.

Princess Amaryllis introduced the new girl to me.

"This is Odette Fellglaze. And she wants to become your Dragonoid Contractor."
