Mia Garcia's eyes betrayed a defensiveness that Clara Brown could see clear as day, and it was tinged with an unusual scent.
"What do you want with my father-in-law?" Mia asked defensively.
Clara responded, "I'm just thinking of inviting your father-in-law out for a meal. Do you need to be so nervous? Could it be that you and your father-in-law are hiding something from your mother-in-law?"
Clara had just casually thrown out the question, but she noticed that Mia's face immediately fell, and her eyes flashed fiercely, an expression completely unlike what a daughter should show her mother.
"Mom, I think you've really gone mad. How can you say such things? Do you really want to kill me? Would you be happy if I died?" Mia couldn't help but explode in anger.
