Chloe Johnson's nonchalance did surprise Arnold Johnson slightly.
"Why did you suddenly think of asking me to drink?" Whether he could get a truthful answer or not, Arnold still posed the question.
Chloe fell into a slight silence before speaking with a hint of sadness, "Arnold, I might upset you by saying this."
If it's going to upset me, then don't say it.

Chloe then continued, "Today, I inadvertently heard about what Victoria Garcia did yesterday, and I thought you might be in a bad mood. So, I wanted to ask you out for a drink. It's been a while since I've had a good drink, and I wanted to get drunk, while also seeing if the legendary 'never gets drunk' you could actually pass out in front of me."
Arnold knew that Chloe had always been able to hold her liquor well, so well that he didn't know to what extent, because he had never seen her drunk.
Of course, the two of them had never competed in drinking before.
