As he sang, his eyes remained hooked on her. Ye Xingguang practically rolled her eyes. Yes, she knew, she knew she had to marry him today. But she didn't feel moved at all by this arrogant man. She was still upset that he hadn't said "I do" yet.
It seemed those words would have to wait for their wedding vows. But Ye Xingguang couldn't help but whisper them to herself a few times - "I do", "Yes I do".
The duet ended and she did not immediately return to her seat. After leaving the stage, she did not want to walk back arm in arm with him. But his large hand kept holding her small one, their fingers interlocked as they sat down amidst the public gaze.
"Let go of me," she whispered softly.
"I don't want to."
Having said this, he looked somewhat smug. He'd proposed, and surely her parents wouldn't go back on their promise now?
