Synopsis
The ever stoic Mr. Fu was finally married, but rumor has it that he set a house rule on their first night with his new wife. "Know your place, and don't covet what you can never get. "We'll never interfere in each other lives." Bai Yu, dressed in her pure-white bridal gown, merely agreed to it cheerfully while she sat on the bed, "Sure." The whole city knew that Fu Yunzhe hated his wife, but no one mocked her for it, because there was a man beneath her feet, his face swollen while she smiled confidently, "Come now, say it again—who is a ghost wife?" She arrived, dressed in a dazzling red dress later at a certain banquet. Mr. Fu who arrived at the banquet hall saw her chatting lively with an unfamiliar man. He strode up to her and took her by the waist, whispering into her ear, "Are you making me a cuckold in public, Mrs. Fu?" Bai Yu calmly pushed him away. "It's just typical socializing. Why are you so worried, Mr. Fu?" Upset written all over his face, Mr. Fu took off his coat and covered her bareback. "No wearing skirts that short from now on. And who are these people at this banquet..." The woman, fiddling with her fair fingers, lifted a brow. "Are you meddling with my affairs now, Mr. Fu?" The man's heart skipped a beat. Remembering the ruleset on their first night, he promptly changed his words, "I was worried that you'd catch a cold!"

Chapter 1 - No benefits? Impossible!

L City, Fu family.

"First Young Madam, tonight is your wedding night with First Young Master, so please rest early."

Before Bai Yu could speak, the door was quickly closed. She turned around helplessly. But before she had a clear view of the room, she saw a water glass smashing towards her. "Get lost!"

Bai Yu instinctively dodged only to realize that the glass had missed. She looked up to see a handsome man leaning against the bed's headboard, glaring at her viciously. This was her newlywed husband and also the man her grandfather decided for her — Fu Yunzhe.

This marriage was originally a verbal agreement made by her grandfather in his youth. But later on, under Master Fu's leadership, the Fu family's business grew bigger and bigger. After Bai Yu's father was rejected several times, he stopped mentioning the marriage arrangement.

However, a few days ago, Old Master Fu paid an unexpected visit and had a discussion with her father in the study to finalize Bai Yu's marriage to Fu Yunzhe. Such 'fortune' shouldn't have been hers, but sadly, Fu Yunzhe was involved in a car accident two years ago and lost his vision.

His girlfriend, who he was supposed to marry, had abandoned him, and the unmarried daughters of other families feared his cruel nature. Fu Yunzhe was rumored to be a person who would do anything to achieve his goals. He broke his second brother's legs and threw his father into prison. But now that he was blind and lost his identity as person-in-charge of the Fu family's business, what was the point of marrying him? Only her father was 'loyal' enough to sell her away.

As Bai Yu pondered, Fu Yunzhe became increasingly irritated because he didn't hear her leave. "Didn't I tell you to get lost? Don't you have ears?"

Bai Yu turned around and twisted the doorknob. "The door is locked from the outside. I can't get out." Seeing that he was going to throw something at her again, she said, "Young Master Fu if you hurt me, no one will take care of you."

"I don't need you to take care of me!"

"Really?" Bai Yu recalled Butler Zhuang's cold attitude and Fu Yunzhe's repugnant personality. Now that the man was blind, even the servants would be bold enough to neglect him. This had nothing to do with Bai Yu, of course, but then she remembered the deal she made with her father to agree to this marriage. So, she said, "Let me do it."

"I already said that you don't need to care."

"Young Master Fu, to be honest, I don't want to care either. It's just that the floor is full of broken glass. I don't want to get out of bed in the middle of the night and have my feet pierced and covered in blood."

God knows what went through Fu Yunzhe's mind, but he mocked, "How shameless of you to bring up sleeping together so soon!"

"You're thinking too much. I don't have any indecent thoughts about you. Even if we sleep, we'll be sleeping separately." Bai Yu ignored him and focused on cleaning up the broken glass on the floor.

Fu Yunzhe heard her rustling about and mocked, "Tell me, how much did my grandfather pay you to agree to marry a cripple like me?"

"Don't say that, Young Master Fu. I heard from my father that your grandfather had an agreement with my grandfather during their youth. If their grandchildren were a man and a woman, they would have them marry so they could be in-laws. But your family broke the agreement first."

The veins on Fu Yunzhe's forehead throbbed. "I'm asking how many benefits did my grandfather give you. Don't change the subject!" Although the elders had made a verbal agreement, Fu Yunzhe and Bai Yu had never met before nor did they have feelings for each other. Moreover, now that he was blind, who would marry him if there were no benefits involved?

"I'm not sure either." She really didn't know the details of Old Master Fu's discussion with her father in the study.

Yet, Fu Yunzhe assumed that their family had asked for too much, so she didn't dare to say anything out of guilt. "Both you and your father are greedy for money. You're all terrible people."

"You can scold my father, but not me." Bai Yu pretended not to see the anger on his face. She focused on cleaning up the broken glass pieces on the ground to avoid him accidentally hurting his foot. After finishing up, she came to the bed and waved her hand in front of him. "Young Master Fu, can you really not see? I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend you. It's just that we'll be living together from now on, so there are some things I'd like to clarify first."

Fu Yunzhe's expression froze slightly when he heard her apology. Ever since he lost his sight, this was the first time anyone felt it was offensive to speak of his illness directly. But when he remembered how this woman was only here for money, he felt that those words were nothing but superficial. "Did you think that by flattering me, I'll have children with you, so you can claim credit from my grandfather?"

What was he talking about? Why didn't her father tell her anything? Bai Yu was dumbfounded.
