Chapter 8 - 08. The model prince and human

The walk around campus was amazing, now that he wasn't avoiding people out of fear of being strangled he actually took in the scenery.

"The school land sure is wide." He commented as they made their way across multiple buildings. Apparently the place was formally called a campus as this was a college, and had all needs.

It was a boarding school with free range, anyone could go anywhere, so long as they stayed on campus. The options were not limited, either, but actually rather plentiful. The buildings all looked different, and had specific purposes.

He wished for his notebook but that was banned during their walk and trip. "One of the largest schools, catered to as many species as possible. Take elves for example," Axul begun to explain.

He tilted his head up, a small smile on his face as he pointed to a different building than the ones he had previously seen. "They have different sub-races such as mountain livers or those who have healing abilities. This serves as a place which replicates the product of the mountain elves' environment," he moved his finger across the street. A building which looked similar to a church. "The other elves may go there as a lounge instead, to feel comfortable as they tend to live in similar buildings."

He continued, diving deeper. "Some people feel homesick, or wish to brag about their culture. Surely you too, love the way humans work and would like to bring a new friend over to see how your home works on campus?" He asked as Raphaēl nodded.

He wondered the criteria to get something built. "Though my room is just the human village, just better. The bed is larger and there's light, normally the vines would block the holes." He explained causing the iridescent prince's eye to twitch.

"Ehh?" He nearly shrieked and if they weren't garnering attention as is, they surely were now. The small pink-hair boy was beautiful and caused looks but now his outburst justified their open stares.

Leaning his body forward he put his hands onto his chest, pressing as he took a step forward. "You mean you don't have windows or light?" He asked, super surprised.

It was now the human's turn to be shocked. "No… does the sea have light and windows?" He asked in response as the smaller boy pouted.

"We have anglers! Even the jellyfish light up, and if you hit it just right your tail practically glows. Of course as the next king, my tail was practically the brightest light." He claimed happily smiling.

That explained a lot. Mermen must live somewhere between the surface levels and deep sea to not only survive and build, but also hide their civilization. Even though they could not fight land creatures, they had always kept hidden he believed.

Actually, he wondered how he got his letter if he recently created the potion. Since the potion was still in testing, he assumed it to be new at least or so.

"King?", "Beauty?", "Who are they?" "That boy looks beautiful…" whispers amongst the crowd grew louder. No. They weren't whispers any longer. People were approaching!

He felt like running but people started showing respect. His desire to run doubled, what if people want his head? He nearly forgot he was the human representative and therefore by school rule seventeen, allowed to be considered a ruler of his species.

As the only of his species he also had no way to relax fully. The difference between the (self-proclaimed) future leader of the entire sea, and him a nearly extinct species called human, was large.

Although smiling the prince had a look which betrayed his effort. The human was panicking and he was bothered. "Leave." Was all he muttered in a low tone. Too low for some to hear but as loud as a terrible scream for some.

Who dares approach him so unceremoniously simply because he attended campus? He was not in the mood to talk to others who clearly approached him for his title and power.

Seems as though some forgot his title, they would be reprimanded. "Let's go." He pulled the human away by the wrist and once again too tight of a grip on the boy to handle.

Mmfn, he squirmed feeling the grip tighten and squeeze him so tightly he nearly forgot to breathe. "Please be a bit more gentle." He finally gasped out as they left the crowd behind and stood close to him. By a month he swore his body would be covered with bruises given to him by the prince.

"Shut.." He groaned. He soon switched from annoyed to happy within that split second with a smile.

The peach-eye boy looked up with innocent doe eyes, and loosened his grip but did not let go as he pointed while jumping slightly. "Let's go there! The new trend on InterModel says their clothes are amazing!"

The facade of the boy lulled him into a false sense of security once more just like a siren to a seawreck. No matter how many times as long as you hear that voice you'd wanna come.

Deep in the depths of the sea laid how many boats that none could count. Similarly, the whole campus was an ocean with many ships in which the beautiful sea prince believed to be sinkable any time.

So long as he sang. And sang he did. While dragging the human around who was now dizzy by all the colours and stylish people he happily spoke and half-complimented.

Within half an hour the human was now completely distracted and forgot the incident he believed. "Are you sure about this?" He asked.

When walking out the ravennette wore a long black turtleneck with a bit of an odd pattern. The torso did not have anything below and was told to wear an undershirt.

Located on the torso was also a zip-up button which slightly weirded him out. He wondered what the material was that his roommate was responding "sheer", to which made him wonder. Why does he like long sleeve things which did not keep him warm?

The small holes made him feel cold. "You have a surprisingly nice body." He got commented on with a small clap and force of a turn.

He insisted he did not have money and yet the small prince said he would pay. "Years of fieldwork, presumably." The human responded. He was not well built with muscles like the broader and thicker man with blue hair and red eyes, but lean.

He had some muscle but nothing extraordinary like werewolves. They were jacked. He also didn't thing his body was too great compared to the king who was tall and carried elegance over all that clothing nor the cuteness of the small general who was well-built when with his tail out for display to all.

The clothes made him feel a bit self conscious after realising this was how people looked in modern world earth and that this was a trend on some sort of mystic divination called InterModels or sorts.

The pants were also a bit tight, and long considering he had to cuff them but the iridescent prince beamed. Insisted he cuff them and put on different belts as well, to satisfy his curiosity.

The outfit was comfy at the bare minimum, but he preferred another choice like a shirt and jeans, but to no protest a pair of shades shoved to his hands. Was this a winter outfit?

Pulling out an odd shape square a light emitted and blinded him before he saw himself with the boy next to each other like a mirror. "Glow up dears."

He wrote on the box which amazed him but said nothing. He clicked an x and shook his head and put the odd device to his pocket.

"We'll post your finally progress and progress and let your tag explode." Words which meant nothing. Was this a merman speech he now learned through shop?

"We're getting that but you can wear this." He said throwing a large coat sweater his way and letting him tie it around his waist while going up to pay despite the human insisting he could handle it- not really no.

Heavy was an understatement to describe the bags he had to hold all. "Aaah their reactions will be beautiful, let's fix your face." The sea prince stated walking obliviously as the boy struggled carrying eight bags of different clothes.

Face…? His face was not porcelain but he was certainly not ugly. He assumed until walking into the store where the employees immediately ate at him for greasy unwashed skin certain parts being dry and how his eyebrows hurt their eyes and so did his lips, which kinda hurt.

Just what were their beauty standards? He thought as the small boy ran around looking for lotion to help mermen skin which he hoped would moisturize his skin enough for the years of a lack of a proper skin care routine, he could barely even keep up as they commented how he may be a week or month long process and began ordering him around.
