Chapter 45 - Finding the truth behind

Keira woke up in the morning with such a terrible headache as if her head was going to burst into pieces in any moment. She raised her fingers and gently massaged her temples, hoping that the headache would ease 'This is too chaotic I feel like I haven't slept in days' She sighed tiredly as she scanned the surrounding.

The familiar bedroom and circular vine bed with the warm sunlight streaming through the window gave Keira relief that she was still safe and sound in the treehouse. At first, she was concerned about what might happen after accepting the deal but everything seemed to be normal.

She turned to watch on her side and found that she was lying alone, That made her anxiously climb down the ladder heading to the first floor looking for Arel.

Arel was standing in the kitchen, turned around as he heard Keira's footsteps "You wake up so early, Why don't you sleep a little longer?" he asked with a gentle voice while wiping his hands with a towel.

The steps from Arel's tall figure walked towards her were steady and firm. he's wearing only an animal skin skirt, revealing his muscled chest was truly eye-catching. She stared at him until Arel leaned his face closer with a sly smile appearing in the corner of his mouth as he saw his wife's eyes were admired on his body.

Keira took a few steps back as Arel's forehead almost poked on her "Oh.. um.. I didn't see you on the bed, so I came down to take a look" she hurriedly replied as she turned her flushed face away. In fact, she had a lot to discuss with him, both about his dragon tribe and about the deal she had made with that psycho.

After Arel heard that Keira was looking for him, he led her to the kitchen to show what he was doing "I heard the pheasant noise this morning and saw that it had laid eggs so I gathered some of them to study" he picked up an egg to watch closely.

Keira raised her eyebrows "Why study? don't you eat eggs?"

Arel frowned at her expression "It .. doesn't look appetizing" he put down the egg carelessly.

"Oh! be careful, this is precious" She carefully grabbed the eggs "let me cook them to show you how delicious they can be" she smiled mysteriously while taking out a wooden bowl. Cracked the eggs in and beat them together then she put some minced meat, cut some carrots, potatoes into small pieces, and mixed them in a wooden bowl.

"Next we will add a little salt for the taste" she added the salt and stirred "Arel, can you put the slab on fire" she pointed to the fireplace.

As his wife told him, he carried the stone slab and set it on the fire.

After the slab was hot, she poured the eggs in and waited until the eggs were well cooked "This we called it omelette... actually there are many ways to cook eggs but this is how I usually cook in my world" she scooped the omelette from the slab to the wooden plates.

The smell of the omelette was so fragrant that Arel leaned closer and sniffed "I never knew that it can cook this way" he helped Keira put the wooden plates on the table.

While Keira was about to sit, her eyes caught by the rice sack that she had conjured that day 'Ah yes.. how can I forget' she thought as she took the rice out of the sack, and washed it thoroughly to prepare for another cooking.

Arel was puzzled as to what Keira was about to do "What are you going to do next?" he helped Keira holding a stone pot that she was about to put rice in.

"I will cook some rice to eat with omelette, since I have already conjured the rice I should put it to good use" she put the rice in the pot and filled it with water, and let Arel bring it to the fire.

"Now we have to wait a few minutes for the rice to soften" she stirred the pot. Then she glanced at the rest of the rice in the sack 'I have conjured only a kilogram of rice and it's not so much. I should conjure more with some of the unpolished rice to plant as well' she thought as she calculated how much she needed to conjure.

Not long after, the rice was cooked. Keira put rice on wooden plates and they enjoyed the meal.

After Arel had finished washing the dishes, Keira called him over to sit on the bench to discuss what she had learned last night.

"Arel, about last night I haven't dreamed But that voice has entered my mind.." she crossed her arms and recalled with a serious expression.

Arel's face darkened as he heard about entering the mind, this would mean that the person also had skill in mind intervention, It was an ancient skill which was why his potion wouldn't be able to suppress its power.

"But I have made a deal with him so he won't harass me from now on," said Keira after seeing Arel lost in deep thoughts.

"What do you mean, a deal?" Arel raised his voice as to how could Keira accept the deal from a stranger who has such an unknown power.

Keira pursed her lips and explained "He just wants me to obey him in exchange for not being harassed and I don't see anything bad about it, if he can't harass me then there's nothing to worry about" She put her hand on Arel's lap as to calm him down "Anyway what he could do is only make me falling into a dream" she explained casually 'Ofcourse It's annoying to have someone talking inside my head, but on the other hand, who knows perhaps I will learn that psycho true intention'

Also, Keira didn't want to make Arel think about that gold pearl. If he had known that she had agreed because she had used the pearl, he would have been furious with himself. Though Keira didn't know the origin of this pearl or what exactly happened to Arel that night, she would rather wait for him to explain everything to her when he was ready.

Arel gently hold her hand that was placed on his lap "I will find the whereabouts of this person as quickly as possible" he paused "And please.. don't trouble yourself anymore Keira" He knew that Keira bearing many things as she didn't want to make him worry, but he wanted her to know that she could rely on him.

"I understand, Arel.." she leaned her head on his shoulder "and that voice also told me something about the extinct golden dragon tribe, but I wasn't sure if it's your tribe?"

Arel was silent as he thought about it. He hadn't returned for multiple years and had practically no idea what had happened to the tribe, but when he heard that it was extinct, it made him feel slightly dismayed as to what kind of crisis caused the Golden Dragon tribe to collapse.

"I haven't been back to my tribe for ages and our tribe's population was small but compared with our long lifespan I'm still not convinced that my tribe is extinct" He replied, thinking that he should investigate this clearly, perhaps this was the reason to why the Golden Pearl was in the hand of the mysterious voice in Keira's dream. But it was rather strange that the voice gave her the pearl during the moment he passed out as to what exactly did that voice want.

"Don't you want to go back and take a look? Anyway, that's your tribe and there might be a clear answer" Though she knew Arel loved solitude, it wouldn't be acceptable to be the last surviving golden dragon "I know you're worried and don't want to leave me alone but I can take care of myself" she added as she saw the worried glimpse on his face.

"I will carefully consider this and we can't know if the voice was telling the truth.. So nothing is certain, don't overthink it" Arel furrowed his brows, as he wouldn't agree if he had to leave her alone. Even if no one could enter this mystic forest, he could not be at ease either way "I'll take care of this and will let you know if I found any details" he said as he pulled her into his embrace, cherishing her as she was his greatest concern.

He hoped that Bluebird would find Rune soon, Though he wasn't sure about the address since it had been centuries since he last contacted him. If the bird could find Rune, he would be a great help.
