Chapter 39 - At the opposite side of the fog

At the inn, Keira bid farewell to Aunt Emma and was ready to go back to Mystic forest.

.

While Arel and Keira were heading out of the tribe, frost was running after them and saw that they were carrying many animal skin bags as if preparing for a trip.

"Keira.. where are you going?" Frost glanced at Arel who was holding Keira in his arms.

Actually, Keira was also looking for Frost, because either way she had to say goodbye according to manners, if she just left like this it wouldn't be appropriate so she patted Arel's shoulder signaled him to put her down.

" I was about to say goodbye to you.. I'm going home with Arel" Keira spoke in a sweet tone, trying not to upset Frost. She knew what Frost had done for her and how nice he was, but she couldn't return to the Wolf tribe with him.

"Home?" Frost frowned upon hearing Keira's words.

Arel picked Keira back in his arms "Keira go back to my house and you go back to your tribe That's what you should do" his voice was indifferent, As Arel didn't want frost to bother them any longer, right now the most essential thing was to lessen the power of the tracking seal, not to waste time explaining.

Keira lowered her eyes at Frost as if she wanted to apologize for her husband's bluntness. Even though Frost was Arel's rival, she should still keep some face for him since she and frost had some time together. Even so, Keira agreed with what Arel said because Frost has a tribe to take care of and he has been away this long which's not fair for the Wolf tribe "I'm going back with Arel .. I can't go back with you to the wolf tribe I'm really sorry"

"..." Frost was silent, he was not mad that Keira had chosen Arel because Arel was the strongest and could protect Keira based on Arel's level. and because of this, he wouldn't have the ability to defeat Arel with the level that he has yet. so there was only one way for him to ask to follow her since he didn't want to lose Keira like this.

"Keira.. can I follow you," frost looked at Keira with heartache sighted.

That made her sigh helplessly. If frost was with her and saw Arel and her loving each other, wouldn't it hurt him more? Why would he want to follow her? Keira didn't understand what he thought, so she turned to Arel and asked him to help her decide.

Arel saw that Keira was asking for help But he didn't care about frost at all so why would he want him to follow her "No, I won't let you follow Keira" his voice was firm without any kindness in his tone. Then Arel held Keira and walked away, There was no reason left for him to stay to continue the conversation.

Frost looked after them as though his heart had dropped to the ground, but he still didn't want to lose her now. At least he wanted to walk her home, just to see her would arrive home safely.

Arel saw that frost was following but he didn't care, Anyway the fog of Mystic forest will make him lose the way.

.

.

They reached the entrance to a mystic forest that was shrouded in thick fog.

The fog here was an illusion spell that no matter how good the sight of that person or how good the sense of smell was, it made those who approach it astray. and if those continued walking further, The fog would absorb their soul and cause poisoning until it was fatal. No matter how dreadful the fog was, there were two ways to enter this forest: be related to the forest's prophecy or by killing the fog maker.

Keira turned around to check if Frost was still following or not, she was worried that he would be a danger. Even though Keira didn't know about this fog power, she knew about the prophecy. Regardless of how peaceful she lived here in this forest, but there must have been more reasons why people outside the forest didn't dare to approach.

.

Not long later, she found Frost was still following, made Keira waved her hand at him as a signal to let him go back to his tribe.

"keira! wait" frost shouted behind her as he saw Keira and Arel go into the fog and vanished. "keira!"

He was shocked by what he had just seen, causing Frost to run straight ahead to the fog. Several thoughts flashed through his head and he no longer cared because Keira had just vanished before his eyes.

The fog's power gradually caused him to become dazed and woozy, He staggered and fell to his knees.

Keira, who was on the opposite side of the fog, saw the whole incident and was startled, she jumped out of Arel's arms. "Frost stop! you must go back now!" but he didn't see her at all. What frost saw was just a group of dark shadows sitting in front of him.

"Keira Is that you.. come ..come back" His voice trembled with anxiety and concern. He didn't know what had happened to Keira.

Then he grabbed that shadow "Is that you? please answer me" He hugged her tightly afraid that she would disappear.

"Yes .. It's me .." Keira rubbing on his silver hair to comfort him

Though Frost couldn't see her he could hear a low unclear voice and it made him feel relief that she was still alive "Are you alright keira? do you feel any uncomfortable?"

"No frost, I'm good.." she answered and slowly released the hug "I'm really alright here. this place is beautiful and Arel takes care of me well" she held his face to let him feel that she was still there.

Frost heard this and let out a sigh of relief. Although he couldn't see her, he could feel that Keira was telling the truth, so it meant that she had arrived home safely.

He pulled her into another hug "Please ..take care of yourself.. I'll be around the forest protecting you. If anything happens, come to me"

Keira stroked his back to comfort him, and slowly withdrew the hug "Thank you for everything, Frost" That was the last word Frost heard then Keira walked away.

Frost lowered his head to suppress the sorrow in his heart. From now on, he will wait for her and hope to see her again...
