Chapter 60 - Dark obsession

Keira and Mag arrived at the Fox Chief's Dome, a vast cluster of wooden dome tents, with the largest one in the center, connected to several small tents reaching out in all directions. Without a doubt, the reason why the tribe's layout here looked so strangely duplicative must have been the habit of the locals or the chief himself.

These people are testing her path-recognition skills, aren't they? Pity... There was no such fancy skill in her system. The reason she had made it to this age was all thanks to Google Maps.

As the chief's dome was an extremely massive nest, Keira stood absolutely dazed, wondering in what devil methods they were going to use to locate the guest order's tent. "Mag," Keira clung to Mag's arm. "I hope you know the way," she peeked hesitantly.

Mag patted Keira's hand "Trust me, I lived here my whole life before I moved in with my mate. Don't worry, we'll get there just follow me," she reassured. Keira wasn't the first to panic after seeing the Chief's Dome. Mag knew that beastmen from other tribes were prone to stray here. Thanks to her father's quirky ideas.

Keira pursed her lips tightly and walked closely behind Mag. The fox chief's tent was like a maze in its complexity. She really wanted to know what the builder was thinking to build such a headache place. What was he angry with and slammed it all on the construction?

In front of the dome, there were guards standing, before they stepped aside to let Mag and Keira in.

After stepping through the entrance, she came to a large corridor shaped like a giant circular tube that lengthened forward, connecting to each tent. The interior was impressively decorated with many ornaments, like gemstones hanging from the ceiling or rock carvings of creatures, as well as unique primitive hieroglyphs that were definitely not the ones she had seen in her world.

When those ornaments reflected the lights from the wall-mounted torch, they sparkled and dazzled, appearing to enchant passersby. Not only the ceiling was decorated, but so were the walls along the corridor, which were mounted with various carved objects. Most of them were made of gleaming, polished stone, and colorful gems carved into huge weapons, making the corridor feel like a museum exhibit, and every step revealed a new piece of art to admire.

The fact that the chief's obsession with collecting such extravagant items might have been a way to display his wealth and power to his tribe, or perhaps it was just a personal hobby that brought him joy. Regardless of the reason, it was clear that he was quite lavish and materialistic.

It convinced Keira that the small wooden tents extending from the dome must be the tribe chief's collection. Judging by the number of tents, there was a high possibility that valuable artifacts were down here. If the thorn flower was as precious and hunted as the psycho claimed, it would make sense that it could be hidden here as well.

But before she focused on the thorn flower, she should better worry about herself first. Because of her recklessness in strolling, she failed to notice which way Mag had turned. Heaving out a groan, she was annoyed at her own ignorance.

From here, she had to make a wild guess at which way to go. To her left and right were split corridors. She swept her gaze between them, then turned to the right.

This corridor continued to stretch, and there was another split again. This time, she took a left turn. Hopefully, this dome corridor will have a circular outline that points inward. That way, she could still reach the center even if she went in the wrong direction.

Keira continued her walking, not knowing how much time had passed. The corridor narrowed down, and the light began to flicker as she went deeper and further ahead. Halting her step when what she feared the most was in front of her—a dead end. Yes, she irritably sighed once more and peered around; maybe there was another split that she missed.

She stepped closer to the wall, squinting to see if there was another hidden entrance or a passageway nearby. Slowly prowling to the side, she followed the wall edge, peering into the darkness until her eyes adjusted and she could make out the dimness. At that moment, her gaze landed on a door, a giant door, that could be over five meters in height, and about the same width.

As she got closer, she noticed the material was made of lustrous black and crimson stone. Strangely, the crimson that pierced between the patterns caused the door to appear like it was constantly bleeding.

Furthermore, the surface was engraved with archaic inscriptions. But sadly, the letters had been slashed by a sharp object, damaging some parts of them and making it difficult to grasp the meaning. The longer she stared at it, the more she felt like this door was calling her to come closer, come closer, come closer, and touch it.

"If I were you, I won't get closer." That voice made Keira scream to her absolute shock and excessive horror.

In a panic, she flung herself onto his body. Her heart thumped as if it were about to jump out; she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, fastened her legs to his waist, and buried her face in his shoulder.

The male's chest rumbled as he spoke in a deep voice, "better reaction than I expect," he chuckled, amused by how she was. This female can jump really high. Such proud..

He started rattling purr, ran his hand on her back, gently stroking to soothe her, then tilted his head, rubbing his straight nose on her nape teasingly.

It was beyond his repress how addicted he was to her sugary scent redolent of exotic flowery. With the alluring softness of her curvaceous body, full breasts, and plump thighs that entwined around his abs, he had to force down his strangled growl. Sliding his hand down, he caressed on her thigh, so soft that he wanted to flip her over and dominate her with the hungriness that grunted through his crotch.

If it were someone else, how much would they be able to endure? He smirked as he leaned close to her neck and pressed his flirtatious lips on her velvet skin. Without letting his hand stop fondling her thighs, he vibrated purr against her skin as his lips parted slightly, revealing his long, pointed fangs. He dragged them gently, grazing back and forth on the curve of her neck, careful not to hurt her.

Unwilling to pause, he briefly sprinkled kisses and chased them up to her ear lobe, flicking his forked tongue, licking it teasingly, then gliding his forked tongue back her neck once more.

She gasped, her head bent forward from the tingling sense, and he was even more satisfied with her reaction. Growling low, his pupils narrowing, turning into the slit-like pupils of a ferocious serpent, passionately observing the female in his arms.

The rebellious throbbing in his crotch warned him to rein in his desire before it got out of hand. Regardless of how much he needed her, this wasn't the right place, and he can't take advantage of her defenseless.

Closing his eyes, he breathed to revert his pupils back to their normal form. It was hard to control himself when she drove him into an unending obsession.

Once Keira came to her senses, she felt the heat of the several red marks on her neck that had been left by him. Her face flushed red to her ears. She rapidly breathed to fully regain her composure and then swept her gaze around before being startled by the hard body that she was clinging to.

The mercury eyes watched her with amusement. His grin widened, satisfied, as he had startled her, causing her to leap up and cling to him like this.

"I don't mind, Jeweline, you can hug me as much as you like." After his deep voice ended, Keira hurriedly released her arm from around his neck, but it wasn't enough to break free from his tangle.

Glancing down at his arm that was tightly wrapped around her thighs, she then glanced back at his sly grin. She pursed her lips, had to admit that he was miraculously handsome. Every part looked perfectly-sculpted flawless from every angle. Although it lingered with terrify but made him look even more charming and mysterious.

"I didn't mean to.. jump and ..hug you like this," she struggled slightly, signaling him to take her down.

He unhurriedly let go of his hand, exceedingly slow, not wanting her to get off his arms. but eventually, he put her down.

Once the heels touched the ground, she averted his gaze. Being so close to someone with such everlasting charm was undoubtedly dangerous for her heart.
