Chapter 16 - The end of winter

Back in the rockwood forest.

As the snow began to melt and temperatures rose, wild animals came out of hibernation, convincing the tribes to begin hunting for food and prey.

At the wolf tribe, some tribe members got sick and died from the cold weather, thus making Frost have to prepare and organize a large hunt to collect stuff for exchanging females in order to attract males from other tribes to move in and make the tribe stronger.

"Brother, are you going out to find her again?.." Mayu came into Frost's cave, looking at how her brother was packing up to leave the tribe.

Currently, Frost's silver hair has grown longer, reaching down to brush on his shoulders, combined with his well-groomed beard, complimented him to look hot and mature.

He turned to look at his sister's green eyes. "I have to find her, Mayu. I can't believe she would disappear without any trace like that" he chuckled sarcastically.

"Keira is clever, I believe she is still alive. But brother.. you can't just leave alone like this" Mayu warned him in a soft tone. She missed Keira too and wanted her to come back safely, but she was worried about her brother, after all, he kept sneaking out in search of Keira during the last winter despite the harsh weather. Although he had returned safely, his body needed rest. She knew she couldn't change her brother's mind, but at least she wanted him to be careful.

Frost got up and patted Mayu's head, saying, "I'm leaving, take care of the tribe .. I'll be back." Then he walked away. Leaving his sister frowning after him with worry.

Keira had practiced combat until she was now at an acceptable level. Though she was not that strong, her agility was fine, combined with her talent in wielding dual daggers and archery made the master satisfied with the results. At least from now on she can defend herself from low-level monsters without getting a scratch on herself.

The snow had started melting, and there was only a thin layer of ice left on the ground from the long winter that was quickly coming to an end.

With a broad grin on her face, Keira emerged from the treehouse. Today, she wore an outfit the master's made, a cropped bandeau top and a long skirt with a side split that showed off her curves. Finally, she could go outside to feel the fresh air.

Relaxing on a rock next to the stream, she took in the sights and sounds of the beautiful nature. The gentle breeze played with her hair as she closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin.

Hearing the sound of footsteps, she turned to look at the male who had just come back from hunting.

"Master!" Keira rushed to him.

In the male's eyes was a view he want to keep in his memory forever. He has lived in this world this long, never thought that one day he would reach this point to be so happy to see someone running to him. As she got closer, he could see the joy on her face and the excitement in her eyes. He knew that this moment would be one of his most cherished memories.

Her arms were tightly wrapped around his waist. They had been together for many months, went through difficult times together, ate together, slept together, and he was the one who she relied on the most.

He felt her warmth and the weight of her head on his abs, and he knew that he would do anything to protect her and keep her safe. "Are you happy to see me?" He hugged her back, stroking her head while smiling kindly.

"Of course, I'm glad you're back. The winter is now over and I can go to pick some fruits to share with you." Keira raised her head off his abs and eagerly smiled at him.

Her amethyst eyes were full of his reflection, sending him into a reverie. 'This female is getting prettier every day'

She poked a finger on his waist, waking him up from his daydreaming "Why are you smiling like that?" asked Keira.

"Oh... um, I'm just tired," he lied poorly and stepped closer to the stream, setting the prey down to clean it up. Keira followed him and squatted next to him

"Master, I've been with you this long. Aren't you going to tell me your real name?" She asked in an annoyed tone, as her master always seems to have a secret.

Pausing his cleaning, he turned to her, "Arel"

Keira's eyes lit up instantly after hearing his voice "Arel... so why didn't you tell me your name sooner?"

He turned back to clean the prey, saying, "I didn't want to tell you at that time."

Stunned Keira, "Oh, yes... how can I forget that you've an extraordinarily way of thinking?" Rolling her eyes. She got up and patted her skirt. 'It is pointless to ask him for any personal information'

"I'm going for a walk now," she told him, taking a step away.

A chuckle escape his lips as he was amused by her expression. It's true, There's reasons that he didn't want to tell his name to her when they first met. "Be careful, don't go too far," he warned.

The female cocked her arched eyebrow at him and continued her pace.

She searched around the area, humming softly while stepping through the grass. After noticing what appeared to be a carrot-like shrub, she hurried over and crouched down next to it. 'Isn't it a carrot?' She swept off the soil and used her full power to pull the carrot out.

"Ugh!" She pulled the head out, and the force made her body fall to the ground. She jumped to her feet, patted her skirt, and looked at the plant in her hand. 'It's a purple carrot!' Then she searched for more and found more carrots and some potatoes.

Back at the tree house, Keira found Arel tanning an animal hide near the door. He turned to look at the excited female who's hugging many plants in her arms.

"What did you find?" he walked down to help her hold the carrots and potatoes.

" Master..er Arel, look I found purple carrots," she boasted as she went to get a basket to fill the vegetables in.

"What to do with it?" he asked, glancing doubtfully at the strange purple objects.

"We can boil it as we did with potatoes, add some meat, and it will turn into a soup."

"Well, I will cook it at dinner," he patted her head and carried the basket inside the treehouse.
