Chapter 4 - First impressions

"Ok, quick question. Why the hell did you unpack your stuff in the living fucking room, huh?" Sam asked, looking around at the clothes that were lying around on the floor. "And I was in the process of cleaning this damn room! So, your clothes all got dirty, you know?" He sighed.

"Wait a minute, you really think this is dirty? Ah man, you should've been in my dorm during college. Our supervisors were like, 'you're gonna get all sorts of diseases if you live like this, Jane', you know? And those were times when I didn't bathe for a week or two. So, this is nothing." Jane shrugged as she said that.

"Oh, goodness gracious great balls of fire! First of all, I didn't want in-depth details on how unhygienic you are and secondly, how did someone even date you?" Sam asked.

"That's the fun part. They didn't. My character creeped them out before my hygiene." Jane chuckled.

"Oh, sorry to judge you by your looks then." Sam spoke.

"It's fine. In fact, I'm flattered that you think that I'm attractive enough to be dated by someone." Jane smiled.

"Um, yeah…" Sam looked all awkward when he heard her say that. "So, are you even gonna clean up after the mess you made?" He asked.

"Do I look like the person who would do something like that?" She asked back as she throated the next slice of pizza.

"Definitely not." Sam sighed, as he picked up the pizza boxes. "I thought you would clean up your clothes at least. Well, whatever."

Seeing Sam cleaning up the mess she created, she kinda felt bad about simply lazing around and decided to give a hand. "Just this time, I guess." She shrugged as she picked the clothes up from the floor.

"How about you clean up after every time you litter the place? So, you won't have to do this every time. Like, I would clean up after myself and you clean up after you create a mess. How about that?" He suggested.

"Well, what you're saying is that I would have to actively partake in the cleaning of the room, huh? After all, I believe that I'll be the person who would be trashing this place the most." She replied.

"I mean, you could think like that if you want to. OR, you could just stop trashing as a whole, you know? Just a suggestion." Sam smiled.

"Yea, I don't think that is happening. I'd be happy to help you though. I'd be a little slow on my feet and literally every part of my body because today is the first day, so pardon me for that." Jane spoke.

"That's fine. I'll just do a little bit of extra work then I guess." Sam replied as he picked up where he stopped before Jane came.

"Wow, you are amazing! I can't believe that the room that I live in looks this clean!" Jane said as she patted Sam on the back.

"Well, I'm somewhat of a clean freak myself, you know?" Sam laughed.

"I can see that. I can definitely see that." Jane nodded her head as she replied.

"So, what are you going to do now?" Sam asked.

"I don't know. I haven't planned it through. I was thinking about sleeping, but I don't know if I should just straight up do that, you know?" Jane sighed.

"Well, do what your mind says, I guess." Sam spoke.

"Sleep it is, then." Jane proclaimed.

"Wait, aren't you gonna bath before you do that?" Sam asked, before noticing the condescending look on Jane's face. "Sorry, I forgot that you aren't a normal human being."

"Right. So, I'll be leaving for my room and I presume you're gonna do the same as well?" She asked.

"Yup. See you tomorrow? Maybe not. There's quite a big chance that I might be gone by the time you wake up." Sam replied.

"You wake up that early?" Jane looked surprised.

"It's engraved in me, you know? Like, waking up early during weekdays. I just can't stop doing that for some reason." Sam spoke.

"Ah, if that's the case, wake me up in the morning, will ya? I have somewhere I have to be and I don't think that being full-on late would give the impression that I'm trying to give out." Jane requested.

"I'm fine with waking you up. But, it's not like first impressions are literally everything, you know? I believe that one can still recover after an awful first impression. But it's just my opinion." Sam replied.

"Well, I can understand where you're coming from." Jane smiled as she said that. "You know, I was probably wrong about you. Maybe you aren't that big of an ass." She spoke.

"That's just your initial assessment speaking. There's still a lot of layers of mine that you gotta see before you make a proper assessment. And I believe that after all of that you'll realize that I'm a weird, crazy psychopath and you weren't very far off with that first look of yours." Sam chuckled.

"Interesting fact. I have never heard a real psychopath say that they are a psychopath. It's just the non-psychopaths who say stuff like that." She spoke.

"Ah, it seems like you have seen the fair share of your psychopaths, huh?"

"Not really. I just read it from a book somewhere. Maybe, it's a complete ass of a book, who knows!" Jane shrugged as she said that.

"Yea… Good night, Jane. Oh, you aren't an ass as well, you know?" Sam smiled.

"Oh, you thought the same as well for me, huh? I'm honored." Jane did a small bow as she said that.

"What can I say? Great minds think alike, I guess." Sam replied.

"Right. I'm a psychopath as well, you know?" Jane spoke.

"Ah, a little bit of reverse psychology, it seems. That's smart of you to make me think that you aren't an actual psychopath!" Sam laughed as he said that. "Good night, Jane. I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you, Sam." Jane waved her hand as she watched Sam go to his room.
