Chapter 5 - Chapter 04 Dragonslayer

When she was walking the narrow street with her senior, she didn't notice the details of the alley. Now that she's alone, she noticed that there was numerous street vendor on one side of the alley, above those vendors were residential area that goes vertically.

Looking up above, one side of the alley was full of windows and doors, that spans upward, and on one side, it was only bare walls, with small platforms with small bridges connected to the side with doors and windows.

Feeling a little hot, Sayyea took off her shawl, revealing the inner clothing she wore underneath. It was a black crop top. No, It was more of a bustier than a top, and the backside was only covered with lines strapping the top. The bare cover of her top part was so contrast with her cargo pant and boots.

Her action of winding herself with her shawl caught the attention of passersby.

Tying her shawl to her hip, she proceeded to approach a boy selling iced tea. Resting her bare arms on the stall table, she asked the boy.

"How much for a glass, boss?"

The boy looking at Sayyea getting closer to the stall, can't help but utter a few *staccato**.*

"Uh.. It's, it's said there, on the board.. Uh, I'm sorry, it's 30 cents for a glass.. But, with a Uni you can get a glass and chicken." Said the boy to her.

"Alright, I'll take your over, but make it quick, ok? I can't take it anymore.."

Just as the tea and chicken was about to be readied, there was a loud sound.

*Bang!* it was heard from the place Sayyea was before, the place with a "Cat"

"Can you hold it for me, boss? I'll pick it up later."

Before the boy could answer, she put on her shawl and ran quickly to the old lady's place.

Among the plain wall on one side of the alley, there was one small house attached to the wall. So, there's no way she would forget where it was, and the sound certainly came from there, as the opposite neighbors all looked at one place.

One just needs to take a narrow stair to get up to the house. So there she goes, but what she saw was red.

Red was the colour of the bearded dragon called Mr. Skittles.

Red was what is supposed to look like after a gun was shot in the room. But there is none.

Sayyea goes into the old lady's house as soon as she heard the sound. But what was found inside the room was just her senior standing still and the old lady laid down with her back against a wall. But there's no bullet wound found.

"You used special rounds, sir?" Sayyea asked.

"No, I sure as hell loaded it with normal ones, and I was aiming at her feet."

With a quick glance around the room, Sayyea noticed that there was several purses with different types and sizes, and one's covered in dried blood.

"So, you're the.."

"No, dear. It wasn't me. It was Mr. Skittles. It was also thanks to him that I was still alive"

It was at that moment when the two realized..

A black spot, big enough to block their vision came fast after them, as if the light is escaping from their vision.

"Roll back!" Sayyea said out loud while kicking her senior.

The two rolled back to the front door.

The old lady and "cat" also rolled back opposite from the two.

*Bang!* Her senior fired another round to the "cat". It happened so fast, but there it is again, the black spot in their vision snatched the bullets that was fired.

"Freeze, Mr. Skittles!" Sayyea yelled.

The bearded dragon stopped mid motion, and it revealed that the inside of his mouth was black.

"Mr. Skittles was a little giddy as of late. He likes snatching anything he fancied, it happened to be purses. Please forgive him officers, I promise I'll return it all." Plead the old lady.

The "cat" Remained motionless with his mouth half open.

The bullets that was fired was dropping to the ground, spotless.

"You have a bulletproof dragon as a pet? Is it even legal? And i never see a lizard that big, much less one's moving so fast. Where do you find such specimen, who are you even?" The senior asked.

"Miss Sayyea, tell her to freeze. I'll look around the house."

"Please don't move, ma'am." Said Sayyea gently.

The old lady didn't freeze as bad as the "cat", she simply sat there, seemingly unwilling to move.

The senior then goes further inside. Upon closer look, the house seemed to be kept manually by hand, as there is cobwebs all around. The lighting of the room also used cables and bulbs, uncommon in this day and age. Purses that was snatched also seemed to be taken care of, except for the one having blood clots.

"Have you returned some of those purses?" Sayyea asked.

"No, dear… I'm afraid.. they didn't like me before,. what about now..if they knew.. No"

"They'll chastise me… I'll never be able to live in the alleys anymore. Please, can you return it for me? I'll pay you, just keep us.. clean, I promise I'll discipline him, better." Plead the old lady shakily.

"Wait here, ok?" Sayyea said as she headed further inside.

There was small drones flying around, with blue light shining here and there, seemed to scan for something.

"I haven't found anything yet, even with this scanners. I'll call the office, someone will come to take them away."

"Did your spell doesn't need to be maintained?" Her senior asked while still scanning the room.

"No, as long as they still remember what i said." Sayyea explained.

"I see" The senior said as he walked back to the front room.

*Bang!* Another round was shot.

"What are you doing!? They won't move!!" Sayyea said as she hurriedly goes back to the front room.

"Damn, it really is bulletproof. The hell are you feeding this thing, old hag. I believe it wasn't this big the last time i saw it"

*Beep beep beep*, the drones seems to have found something.

It was a casket, with Bohr's atomic model, a logo, printed on it.

The senior proceeds to open it, revealing that it has several layers to it, with a small container made of bronze in the middle.

"So there it is, you've been feeding your dragon, star flakes? And one needing such container can't be found normally, and not at such a small price. What's your goal? Purses? Snatching some money inside, to feed your own old ass?" The senior scolded the old lady.

"I, used to work at the solar farm, up top, when i was about to be laid off, I took a small, relief funds. I, was about to sell it to some punks, rich punk, at least it can grant me the pension that I deserve.. But alas, when I'm checking up on it, mr. Skittles moved faster than me, it snatched the flakes, the whole 50 grams of it."

"So it became what it is now, I should be angry, but no. What i saw was, a beautiful child, you know how it looks at you, miss Sayyea." She said while looking at Sayyea.

"It's smarter, when I'm looking at the purses, i fancy, he took it for me. When I'm walking at the alleys at night, when a punk was about to grab my purse, he snatched the punk's hand off, I won't be alive today if not for him.."

The old lady was shaking, but she began to move, little, by little.

"And you know, when he shed his skin, he bleed a little. But the blood, it gives me strength, so I drank every drops of blood!"

The old lady stood, then kicked the lizard. Startled, but free, the dragon leap quickly to the senior's head.

It happened so fast, but what Sayyea saw was that her senior ducked below, but swinging some blue baton while he does so..

"It's bulletproof, but doesn't mean fryproof."

What proceeded after was a series of electrocution that yielded a few smokes.

*Ahhhhhhhhh aaaahhhhh!!!* The old lady screaming while pouncing at Sayyea, but was caught by an uppercut.

"Please, stay down, please!" Sayyea pleaded to the old lady.

*Ahhahahahahahh* a laughter was heard.

"At last, at 38 years of age, I slayed a dragon!!! You see that, mom!?!" The senior was laughing while videoing someone on the phone.

"Meh!" Someone on the phone said, then closed the call.

"She's shy, but she's proud of me now, something she never felt before! And you, that's one hell of a punch!"

"Your voice's usefull, girl. I never felt so secure working with newbies before." The senior seems happy for some reason.

But Sayyea felt otherwise, a creature dear to someone was dead. A friend of someone lonesome was gone.

"I'll, look for someplace for you, ma'am, somewhere you can be less, lonely, so please, come with us, I'm so sorry it had to come to this." Sayyea said, with eyes that looked glassy.

"You can leave her to me, go home now, girl" The senior told.

Sayyea seems unwilling to leave, still looking at the old lady, feeling saddened by what just happened. But then she recalled something of importance.

"Yes, and I need to take my tea, and chicken." She said as she walked out of the house, looking somewhat, smaller.
