The last thing Roma remembered was how he fell asleep. It was an eternity ago, or at least what seemed like an eternity. This must be purgatory…" Roma concluded after some time had passed.
At some point, he felt confident that he had died and was leaving for the afterlife, but it was all so strange. He was still conscious, but the world was shrouded in darkness.
He had been a Christian all his life, he thought he had to meet God to be judged, but it was just...nothing. He could neither hear, nor see, nor smell, nor taste, nor touch. It was as if he was locked in his mind, and there was nothing in him but his thoughts.
Even stranger, he felt like he was still falling asleep regularly, often returning to lucidity after an unknown amount of time. It was almost impossible to tell without having the senses on which to base his judgment.
After a long but indefinite amount of time had passed in this way, Roma began to fall into despair. Maybe I've already been convicted, and this is hell... He began to fear the worst. Forever locked in endless darkness, forever only your thoughts. Truly a terrible fate!
However, Roma refused to believe such a train of thought. I lived a decent life, treated myself and others fairly. I should be with the children and take revenge on these scoundrels, and not swim in the endless darkness ... Roma was adamant.
Time has gone even further. At this time, Roma began to struggle, desperately trying to feel something... anything. A useless quarrel turned into an angry fight, which then turned into a rage. However, once the rage wore off, Roman felt devastated and depressed. He feared that if life continued like this, he would eventually go insane.
Time passed, Roman continued to fight the darkness.
...hit
What was it! Roman felt something for the first time in his life.
He... hit something, or rather, hit something. With his efforts, despite not feeling any physical reaction from his body, he managed to move some form to hit something.
A powerful feeling of hope swept over Roman, and he multiplied his efforts tenfold.
Time passed, and new sensations began to make themselves felt. Roma now barely felt the set of limbs and regularly used them to stumble into what he now believed to be his dungeon of darkness.
As his sense of touch slowly increased, he began to realize that he was floating in some kind of ... thick, viscous liquid, which partially interfered with his movements.
He imagined swimming in pool syrup.
However, the real shock came out of nowhere when he finally heard the first sounds after falling into the darkness.
"GRRRRRRRRRRR" A deep growl, much like the growl of a wild animal. Only it was so loud that he could feel the prison he was in vibrating.
The growling grew louder, and he soon realized that it came from two sources, probably two large animals.
If I had to guess, it looks like these beasts are about to start fighting… thought Roman. After being in limbo for so long with nothing but his thoughts, any development, good or bad, was welcome.
Then the world shook.
An immense force shook his world, causing Roman to fall inside whatever was holding him. A feeling that Roman had not felt for a long time seized him ... pure agony.
He was focused mainly on what he considered to be his right limb. When he no longer tumbled, Roman saw the light of day for the first time in centuries. There was something like a large crack, from which smaller cracks, resembling a web, fanned out.
A bright yellow light poured from these rifts, illuminating the darkness that Roman had been in for so long. It was probably the most beautiful light he had ever seen, the light at the end of the tunnel.
Ignoring his right limb, Roman moved his left to touch the crack. When he pressed lightly on him, he felt that he gave in a little. "It can be opened ..." - Roma realized with joy.
"Everything ..." - Roma saw that he had an opportunity, and began to crash his limb into the gap with all his might, trying to escape.
After three strong blows, a large piece of what was holding him fell off, letting in even more light, so much so that Roma was blind for a moment.
Excitement overwhelmed him, and Roman went with his whole body to the hole.
Suddenly he splashed out into a world covered in viscous, viscous substance, and a tidal wave of sensation swept through his brain.
Thousands of scents from the environment that he could not distinguish or understand filled his now breathing nostrils.
The melodic chirping of birds and the running of small creatures sounded in his ears.
The chill of the surrounding air chilled his slippery body.
Because he was still blinded by the sudden flood of light, Roman still couldn't look at his surroundings, but all other senses were too strong for his mind, causing him to tense up.
However, there was one feeling that unfortunately still functioned properly... physical pain.
"God! Why does it hurt so much? Roma mentally cursed when he felt a strong discomfort in his right hand. - Move as little as possible.
Sitting there in the cold, the initial overwhelming sensory input began to fade and his body and mind began to adjust to the new and unfamiliar surroundings.
Finally, Roman felt that his eyes were no longer burning from the light, and he decided that it was safe to open them slowly.
When he did, Roman was amazed at what his newfound vision greeted.
Trees, massive snow-covered trees that seemed to reach for the sky as he looked up. As he looked left and right, he found some clues as to what caused that early earthquake.
Many destroyed trees and what looked like smoking craters surrounded him on all sides. Some trees even burned down. It was as if a meteor shower had hit and destroyed the surroundings, "but I definitely heard the growling of wild animals…" Roma suddenly felt that his current location was not the safest place.
Finally, Roman turned his head, trying not to move his right limb, and found himself face to face with what had shackled him for so long. What's in the world? He was completely silent.
" Egg? "
Roman wanted to rub his eyes or shake his head, but it was useless. It was clearly an egg." It was...hatched...from an egg. What he thought was a prison was just an egg...what?"
The number of questions he had grew exponentially.
"Wait a minute. If I hatched, then what..." Roman looked down and nearly jumped in shock.
What greeted him were not human arms or legs, but thick limbs covered in dark scales. Upon further inspection, his torso and buttocks were also covered in dark scales, including a brand new tail.
I'm... a lizard... Roma's conclusion was not a happy one. Something was definitely not right here. Maybe he was still alive in that hospital bed and it was just one long dream or he was hallucinating from a bad drug. However, the pain coming from his right scaly limb proved otherwise. Upon closer examination, Romchik discovered that it was terribly broken and hanging at an obviously unnatural angle. You definitely need a doctor to fix this.
- What am I doing? he asked himself, sitting by the egg, trying to grasp the reality of the situation.
Roma began to freeze. Although now he was not sitting in any of them, there was snow everywhere. Wherever he was, most likely it was winter.
Looking at the carnage around him once more, Roman distinguished the smell of smoke from the thousands of other new smells he could detect, being intimately familiar with it.
Grumble!
Roma felt a sudden sharp pain in the abdomen, which could mean only one thing... hunger. The initial shock and adrenaline wore off quickly, and now his young lizard body was demanding that he find something to eat.
His new powerful sense of smell suddenly locked onto a certain scent, causing saliva to form uncontrollably in his mouth. " What's this?" Roma felt his sense of smell help him look around until it focused on the egg he hatched from.
Unable to resist, he cautiously hobbled over to her and peered into the remains of his former prison. There was still a large amount of yellowish mucous liquid inside. It was similar in color to the yolk of a chicken egg.
An internal war immediately began. His human mind told him not to eat what he had been sitting on for god knows how long, while his lizard body required him to ingest the "delicious" substance.
Hunger and instinct finally overcame all his mental hurdles and he began to swallow the slimy leftovers, shamefully unwilling to admit how delicious they really were with his new lizard sense.
Satisfied, he squatted down, still trying to piece together everything that had happened. However, he was not given much time to think.
"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" - a quiet growl ran away from a short distance. Focusing on the source, Roman peeked out from behind the egg and met the eyes of a massive wolf that was sniffing the air. He looked pretty hungry.
Oh no...
As he looked at the massive wolf, Roma quickly realized that the wolf probably wasn't actually massive, just large compared to its current form. He was probably the size of an ordinary wolf. When he wanted to approach me with hostile teeth bared, an unconscious growl escaped my throat.
It was a natural reaction that I had no control over. I could clearly sense the hostility in his gaze, but somehow I was also able to sense something else, fear?
So he was afraid of me? A strange feeling of pride swept over me, I can't understand why, but seeing the hesitant expression on his face as the wolf contemplated whether he should pounce on me or not, I felt excited.
My blood boiled as an unfamiliar battle-lust swept over me and threatened to blur my vision as I struggled to maintain control of my sanity.
The wolf seemed to have made its final verdict as it lunged at my neck with its jaws wide open, the sense of danger causing my body to tense as I unconsciously stepped back a few steps, successfully fending off its attacks.
For some reason, the fact that the wolf made me back down made my blood boil with anger. It was a wave of deep primal anger ripped from my bones
I didn't quite understand what I was feeling, but at that moment I didn't care. The wolf had to pay. He had to know his place and I was going to kill him!
A somewhat immature roar escaped my lips, although not as impressive as what I imagined a full-grown dragon was capable of, it was still enough to make the wolf take a few steps back, its scent filled with fear as it lowered his head. His gaze, however, remained full of challenge.
Taking a step forward, I rushed towards him, causing his wolfish golden eyes to go wide in panic. Although my blood boiled with excitement, I still forced myself to remain calm.
I attacked not with teeth, but with sharp claws. The wolf barely had time to raise its original paw to launch my attack before pushing back the growth with a blow.
Without giving him time to gather himself, I immediately repeat after him with another blow of the left paw. However, this time he managed to use his own body to avoid the attack as he directed one of his attacks towards me.
By this time, I was already fully immersed in the fight, moving purely instinctively. Feeling the attack of the wolf, I quickly turned around and responded with a spiked tail.
His face collided with my tail, causing several parts of his body to bleed as he flew again, this time he stayed on the ground.
noticed that the previous attack on the father's head had been stunned by him and I could see that his right eye was bleeding. My tail attack apparently blinded him in that eye.
Several of the scales on my tail were broken, blood dripping between them and falling onto the floor of white snow.
I forcibly quieted my feelings before I could finally do something stupid, I cautiously walked towards the annoyance.
The wolf looked at me with fear, because he knew that I wanted to kill, he knows that only the strong can survive in this world.
Approaching him, I threw my widely recognizable jaw on his neck, thereby killing him.
It was my first past in this world. While I was immersed in my thoughts, suddenly there was a sound that I could only dream of.
