Chapter 75 - Chapter 75

Ophelia's POV (Deity of Human)

Everything has settled down and went back to how it's supposed to be, Blake getting punished in the prison, Ember exiled and reincarnated to live as a human being for one last time before her soul will be vanished from the whole universe once and for all.

Without the coronation, everyone addressed me as their queen and I was told "The Right One to be on the Throne" but I rejected them. Being their queen and ruling heaven is the least thing on my bucket list.

So, to complete one last thing on the list, I walked towards the Hall of Souls. I've been here a couple million years ago to find Vincent's soul but gave up when it never appeared for nine hundred million years.

As I walked inside, they vowed and let me in. The hall was in the same state it was in, millions of years ago. The only thing that has changed is more space and books occupying the hall. The hall was around twenty meters high, decorated with grey marbles and golden linings.

I walked towards the center of the hall where there was a large table with a crystal tablet where you could find the books you needed regarding the souls in all the realms.

With shaky hands, I scribbled on the name of Vincent and waited for several number of books opened infront of my eyes. Among them, I spotted the familiar face and broke out in a grin.

Tyler looked to be in his early twenties with his beautiful emerald green eyes and it reminded me of the short time we spent together. As deity of Human, I believe in fate because even though everything that happens in your life is based on your own choices, fate brings those who you meet in your life.

And I would like to think that I happen to go through the trial and meet Tyler in his current life because fate exists. Also, the fact that we've been each other's soulmates in our previous lives says enough.

When I visited Blake a couple days ago, he asked me why I couldn't let Vincent go after all these years. He also asked what could I possibly do for him when he's already vanished from this world. Well, now, it looks like the answer's clear because I know exactly what I should be doing.

I walked out of the hall and flew to my palace, summoning my generals, the deities who work under me, technically, everyone in heaven along with Selene by my side.

When everyone's gathered, I sat on my throne and they greeted me. They soon went to their seats after I've dismissed their extravagant greeting for getting on their knees, kowtowing while praying for my longevity.

"Alright, thank you for being here. Today, I called you guys because I have a very important announcement for you guys here." There were quiet murmurs as they shared their views and opinions.

"Since I am yet to have my coronation, I would like to pass my throne to Selene, the deity of werewolves. She will be looking after all the deities as she has the biggest trust of me while I go and travel some of the realms. You guys will listen to her and follow her orders while I am gone. Selene, please." She was frozen on her seat as everyone stared at her with wide eyes before they got down from their seat to congratulate her and vow their loyalty.

Selene just stood there, unmoving as she took extra time to comprehend and when she did, she also got on her knees and asked me to withdraw my order. She thought she didn't deserve the role I was assigning her but I knew better than anyone, she could manage heaven well while I fulfill my wish.

Everyone was soon dismissed and was promised that the real coronation will be held soon to welcome their new queen and Selene thanked me by kowtowing for three times, it wasn't surprising because she has quite a connection with ancient China, hence the way she thanked me for my generosity.

I then walked to my mansion with her who walked by my side, listening to everything I had to say including some of the plans I told her. From now onwards, she will be looking after humans as well as werewolves.

It might sound overwhelming but I am sure she will do much better with the help of the disciples we've been teaching all these years.

"Your majesty, you still know the consequences you will have to pay for doing whatever you have on your mind, don't you?" she asked, concerned and I let out a sigh.

"Of course, I thought about it but at this point, I can do anything for him as long as it means I can spend more time with him. His soul has damaged to great extent and I doubt he will be able to reincarnate again. I wanna spend the last bit of his years with him so that I will have fewer regrets later." Selene let out a defeated sigh in the end as she failed to convince me a dozen times.

"If you insist, I will help you gain your body back so you can continue living with the old identity you had. If you would like, I will help you have all the memories along with one millionth of your power. After all, you caused quite havoc back there with barely a few thousand years of cultivation."

"Indeed. I really gotta reward him for his good deeds."

"He's been living well, thanks to your highness. I am sure you've rewarded him enough." Selene replied and I kept quiet as we walked along the paths that led to our mansion.

"Actually." I started and Selene stared at me.

"I don't plan on returning." She stopped walking and I turned around to look at her.

"What do you mean, your majesty?" She asked with uncertainty as she listed the possibilities and the underlying meaning behind it.

"You know what I mean. To lead heaven, you will require power and I will help you gain it. On the other hand, you will watch over us, manage the heaven and that's all I am asking for. You've heard enough about me and Vincent and you must know that this is the least thing I can do after whatever I've done to him." I raised my hand as she opened her mouth to object to my decision.

"I know what you are thinking but I've thought about it. I've spent five lives with him and I can't leave his side. The reason his soul's damaged and can't reincarnate again is all my fault. It's the least I can do."

"Your majesty, it wasn't your fault. Don't blame yourself for something that wasn't even your fault. As much as I would like to ask you to reconsider, I am sure you've made up your mind. I will help you achieve whatever you need after you go to the human realm." I looked at her with grateful eyes and I hugged her.

"I will miss you."

"I will miss you too. Please take good care." I nodded my head and looked back at the mansion that held so many memories of me, my love Vincent and young Blake who always smiled and was the complete opposite of what he's become.

No matter whether you like it or now, you are bound to say goodbye to those fate brought to you guys. But even if I will be saying bye, I am going to meet me fated one so that's the perks of being a deity I suppose.

I dismissed Selene as I wanted some time alone to think about the matters at hand on my own. I walked along the beautiful garden and it brought different memories I've spent with Vincent over the years.

I and Vincent have gone through various trials together. Some of which included us spending our time in the human realm and we've always ended up together somehow. We were always there for each other in the lives we've spent in the human realm, with a new identity and no memory of the deities in heaven.

I can't just sit here, not doing anything as he is aging day by day, approaching his last day because he will never get to reincarnate in this world and disappear for once and all. I can't just wait for his doom's day.

Letting out a sigh, I looked up at the clear sky and an image of Vincent, giving me a dazzling smile appeared which made me smile back at him.

With newfound determination, I walked back the path I've walked and Selene was waiting for me where she's left me. She followed me without saying anything and I walked back to the Hall of Souls.

"Selene, could you do me a favor?"

"Of course, your highness. What is it?"

"I know that I am asking for alot but when I go back down, I will give up my identity as a deity. Here." I passed her a golden pouch which stored a few pieces of Vincent's soul I've collected over the years.

"It's Vincent's soul. Could you collect more of them while I am gone and bring the broken pieces of the soul together? I don't want him to vanish forever. Please." I held her hands and she looked at me.

"Of course, your highness. If he was here, I would serve him with the same loyalty I'm serving you. If you are so determined to revive him, I will help you even at the sake of my life." I shook my head as I looked into her eyes.

"I don't want you to risk your life for this. I want all of you guys to live on and create peace in heaven."

"Yes, your majesty. Rest assured." I smiled at her and she smiled back.

Letting go of her hands, I walked out and looked at the heaven that stored so many memories of everyone I've met and had to part ways in my life.
