Rose's POV
After Jess admitted her love for Luke, she didn't utter a word as she was lost in her own thoughts.
"Jess, you need to get some rest. I will have Tyler get a hotel and drop you off. Go get a shower, eat something and get some sleep. You've had a long day; you need to rest. He won't want you to ruin yourself after he did all that to save you." I said, looking at Luke.
"Not helping, Rose." Jess mumbled the last part and I hugged her.
"I know but you know I am right." She sighed and hugged me back.
"Yeah, maybe I should get some rest. My head's hurting for crying so much. Gosh, I wonder where I got all the tears." She let out a light chuckle as she wiped her eyes.
"I wanna know that too." I smiled at her and she stood up from her seat.
"So, who's gonna look after him?" She asked.
"I will talk to Xavier and he will stay, looking after him. I will join you soon. Get some food and shower before I get there. Tyler's waiting for you at reception. Get enough sleep and shower babe. You stink." I playfully pinched my nose and she smiled.
"Will do. See you soon." She waved as she walked out of the ward and my smile dropped.
Because deep down, I wasn't ready to risk my life to save a stranger.
'You don't have to if you don't want to. She will move on as time passes.' Layla said and I was a bit tempted but shook my head.
I know Jess more than anyone. Yes, we move on and she will eventually move on but I know for a fact that it will take forever for her to move on. She seems strong but she's barely holding on after whatever happened to her four years ago, about the drama about her real parents.
She's been through so much and I doubt she will hold on when the time comes. It's safe to say she would stay single for the rest of her life because she will be traumatized so much and I surely don't want it to happen. I turned and looked at the brunette infront of me.
I then closed my eyes and felt tingly inner power flowing through my body. I took a few deep breaths to focus on the task at hand. I then opened my eyes and opened my palm infront of me which was engulfed in a golden flame.
As I focused on a little marble which collected my lifetime energy. The bigger the marble got, the more difficulty I was having breathing and by the time it got bigger enough to the size of a tennis ball, I was on the verge of falling down. The glowing golden ball contained fifty years of my life span and Layal has been yelling at me to stop from ages ago, telling me it would be enough to revive him.
When I couldn't hold on, I stopped and fell to the floor. Stars and darkness were all I could see but I grit my teeth and held on. I still have to pass the energy to him or everything would be in vain. I stood up and sat on the sofa and held the golden ball in one of my palms.
It wasn't that hard, passing the energy to him and it didn't take long. When I was done, I sat there for a while trying to calm my racing heart. I raised my head when the door opened and Xavier walked inside.
With a smile on my face, I greet Xavier who walked inside with bunches of food in his arms. He looked around and when he only saw me, he frowned.
"Am I not welcomed here? I had Jess taken to a nearby hotel to get washed and get some rest." I explained and he nodded, putting the food on the sofa.
"That's probably for the best." He mumbled and I nodded.
"Yeah, since you're here, I will get going. I will entrust him to you. Is it ok with you?"
"Of course. Get going. Jessica needs you." I nodded and walked out after bidding goodbye.
As I got out of the door, my heart started beating so fast that it felt like it was about to burst. And all of a sudden, a foul smell started to surround the area but I was too focused on relieving the pain to focus on my environment.
When the pain went away, I looked around and everything was blurry. I blinked a few times to adjust my view when a sinister voice whispered in my ear.
"There will be a war between vampires and werewovles soon. You better get ready for the battle." I snapped my neck around but there was no one in sight but a black figure hurring away from me didn't escape my eyes.
I was about to run for him when Tyler mind-linked me that Jess was asleep and the black figure was nowhere in sight. Without sparing a minute, I asked him to get to the airport because that was a warning for me and the whole kingdom.
Looks like the vampires are planning to make history repeat itself but I won't let them get what they want. I explained to Tyler that I just got a warning from an anonymous vampire as I got in a taxi.
Taking out my phone, I texted Jess that I am leaving to my kingdom to get some things settled and asked her to take good care of herself. I looked back at the kingdom which got smaller and smaller as we drove away.
'That bitch better take good care of Jess and be nice to her.' I thought as I turned around and focused on solving the problem at hand. If that warning was real and the war was to break out for real, I need to get my warriors ready for the battle.
The jet was ready and we flew to the kingdom. Throughout the flight, I and Tyler discussed about how to strengthen the warriors and prepare for the war. I mind-linked the generals who were in their respective places to train warriors be gathered for the meeting as soon as I land.
When I landed, I hurried to my room and study and there it was, an envelope lying on my desk, with the royal seal of vampires in it. I opened it and the letters were written in gold letters, the vampire king, declaring war on us.
With the letter in my hand, I went to the newly renovated meeting hall where all the generals were in their armors with Jade, Jack and my parents waiting for me as they exchanged greetings. All of them stood up and bowed when I went in and I sat on my seat.
"Hello generals. Today, I've requested your presence because the vampire king, Chris declared war on us." As soon as I said that, gasps were heard and my parents, along with Tyler's and some of the generals stood from their seat in shock.
"Yes, this letter is the proof. I need help from all of you to gather the troops. Mr. Vale, I will accompany you to announce the news to people. Please help me move the elders and children to underground camps of the kingdom. Mrs. Miya, I need you to gather the weapons needed for the battle." and I assigned the respective roles to the rest of the sixteen generals that were present at the meeting and all of them, except Tyler's and my parents left the hall after the discussion was over.
"Rose, what's going on? I- How did things get to this extent?" My dad asked, his face pale with horror, his past reoccurring in his mind.
"Dad, Jade, mom, Jack and Tyler, I promise that I will try my best to not let history repeat all over again. Actually, I think it's about time I let everyone know about it. Don't worry about it, we have an upper card this time." I said and they looked at me with confusion but still worried.
"I'm a descendent of the god of werewolves." I opened my arms and wings sprouted out from my back. Golden light surrounded us and all of them looked at me in awe.
Yes, I got my wings a year ago and I didn't tell them the whole truth because it isn't necessary. That's the same thing I told Tyler during our training. I didn't want to tell him the whole story of heaven and how things worked there. It's Layla's life and I am no one to tell her story to everyone.
My mom and others got on their knees and kowtowed. I instantly got on my feet and helped them up. My mom and Jade were crying and so were Jack and my dad. They didn't say anything and hugged me. I looked at Tyler who was looking at me from afar and smiled at him.
"So, I won't let history repeat itself this time. Trust me." I smiled and they wiped their tears.
"Of course, I trust your majesty." I frowned and asked them to drop the formalities because that wasn't the reason why I told them who I really am.
Well, maybe not the whole truth but a part of it. No matter what power and position I hold, I want my beloved to love and see me for who I am, not the title I hold.
"Alright, we're out of time. I need to get things done." I said and hugged them for the last time before walking out of the hall where the General Vale was waiting for me.
"Lead the way, please." I said and he bowed before walking infront of me with guards in armors led the way.
With my super-power, I changed my dress into a golden evening gown as we walked towards the balcony. As I stood infront of the door, the guards opened the door for me and people bowed upon seeing me and I waved at them.
"Rise, everyone. Thirty years ago, my parents, Victor and Aurora Taylor led the war to victory. Even though we've won, we've lost so many things on the way. This time, I won't let it repeat it again. I can't promise you guys that everyone will return home, safe and sound, but one thing is for sure. I promise each and every one of you that I will lead the war to victory as a descendent of Selene, the goddess of werewolves." People started to gossip and I freed my wings, flying above everyone.
Everyone bowed beneath me and I gave them permission to rise. Some were crying in happiness and they shouted phrases of victory.
"As your queen, I promise that I will protect you all even at the stake of my own life. It's the same oath I took during my coronation and I will prove it to you this time around. We lost way too much thirty years ago and I won't let it happen again.
To those who cross the line and harm my people, I will let them know what the consequences are for hurting them. I won't let them go and it's my promise to everyone. So please follow the orders of Generals and you will be protected. Please take good care of yourselves." I got back to the balcony and walked away, leaving people wailing and shouting.
I got to my study and Tyler and everyone was waiting for me. I sat them down and talked about the strategy and plan. By tomorrow, everything will be ready and the war will begin and the victory will belong to us.
They messed with the wrong ones this time.
