Rose's POV
Dad smiled proudly as I kneeled infront of the priest who was reciting the oath that I followed after. When I was done, the priest declared the starting of crowning ceremony. I was still kneeling as I felt a heavy crown being laid on the top of my head. I rose from my stance at the instruction and I was given a long, golden scepter with ruby on the top of it, shining beautifully under the sunlight.
I turned around to face the whole crowd of people, who were staring at me with pride and some with displeasure. Looks like I gotta deal with them after the ceremony. I thought to myself as I prepared myself for the oath I've prepared. But then, I was pushed to the very back of my mind as Layla took over.
I was left in the dark as Layla did her job. But I couldn't hear a word she said as I was suppressed by the strong power of Layla. I was kinda thankful she took over and saved both of us from the embarrassing moment of me stuttering during the oath. After a couple of minutes, I tried to take control back. Layla was reluctant to give me back the control but I took over with ease.
And when I did, people broke into enthusiastic cheers and the ones who were looking at me with displeasure, now looked at me with trust and pride swirling in their eyes. I smiled at the sight infront of me and praising Layla who stood on her ground with a huge grin.
I was told to be seated on the throne and my lovely scepter was taken away by the priest as it was now time for me to meet the alphas and important figures who worked at the palace. My smile faded and the whole room fell into pin-drop silence as an arrow was shot towards me.
I caught the arrow which almost pierced through my skull with my bare hands and the room was filled with gasps of people and guards surrounding me for protection. Gunshots were fired towards my direction and with a little wave of my hand, the bullets pierced the wall behind me, leaving me unharmed.
By now, I and Layla was fuming as someone dared to disrespect me infront of the crowd. My dad's threatening growl and authoritative voice boomed throughout the room and he was on the verge of tearing down the place when I stood infront of him from doing anything impulsive.
"Well, well, well." A man entered the hall clapping, making people make a way for him and bow their heads in submission. His aura was dark and I could tell he was an alpha. I glared at him as he sneered at me with a little smirk on his face. He looked to be in his fifties, around 5'8ft, with black hair and disgusting yellow teeth. Did no one teach him how to brush?
"Your royal highness is better than what I've expected." He was halfway through the hallway and I clenched my teeth in anger. But soon after, I relaxed and calmed myself as being angry and acting on impulse is exactly what he wants. Well, I am not giving him what he wants because he dared to question my strength.
'He is Alpha Arthur, the one who've killed thousands of innocent werewolves because they either stood up to themselves and went against him or simply because he was bored.' Layla seethed in anger as she gave me information about him.
'Well, I am bored too. Why don't I play with him?' I asked her with an evil smile which made her smile wickedly in agreement.
"I will take that as a compliment, Alpha Arthur. I've prepared a little exciting match for you guys. Would Alpha Arthur like to join me?" I asked him with a sweet smile which made his smirk grow further, probably because he thought I'm afraid of him.
"Sure, it would be my honor." I then ordered maids to hang a large TV in the hall so that everyone can witness the fight between me and the asshole while enjoying themselves with the delicacies that were prepared for them.
Some of the warriors were invited to the ring as witnesses. My parents and everyone were angry at the boldness of Alpha Arthur but I had to convince them to trust me during our walk to the training room after I've changed my cloth.
Alpha Arthur was already on the ring, shirtless. He looked so fucking disgusting that I had to suppress the urge to use my power to force him to cover his ugly chest covered in ugly scars.
"You're early." I said through my clenched teeth as I climbed over the ring.
"Your highness, I thought I was to fight a warrior, not you? I am afraid I will leave ugly bruises on you after the fight. Or even worse, get you killed." He whispered the last part and a low growl was heard from the crowd but I just patted him on his shoulder and smiled.
"We will have to see about that. But since you're stronger, be careful not to touch my face." " Of course, your highness. I won't want you to live your life wearing the mask now, would I? Rest assured; I will make sure I will get you killed without even laying a hand on your face." I scoffed as I walked away from him and stood on my position.
A loud whistle was heard, indicating the start of the match. The brat was pretty impatient as he didn't even wait a second before, he pounced on me. I stepped aside, making him almost fly out of the ring. After gaining his balance, he pounced on me yet again but I dodged his attacks.
He was getting aggravated and frustrated as he couldn't even lay a finger on me as I dodged all the attacks thrown at me. His move got even worse when I commented on how he was so weak that he couldn't even lay a finger on me. And just like that, minutes passed, me dodging his attacks and him trying his best to lay a finger on me. After ten minutes or so, he was panting at the other side of the ring, glaring at me.
"Your highness, why do you keep dodging? Don't be afraid, I won't be hard on you. I wanna see how strong you can be." he whispered in an attempt to provoke me but it showed how tired he was getting.
"Well, I haven't even started yet, Alpha Arthur. That was just a warm-up. The real game starts from now." After flashing him a smirk, I stood behind him with my ghostly trace; the skill associated with wind that makes me able to move without leaving a shadow and to anywhere I like in less than a second.
