Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Jessica's POV (Three months later)

On my graduation day, Mr. and Mrs. Knight visited my uni . They wanted me to live with them for three months so they could get a chance to show their sincerity and after that, I would decide whether I would live with Knights or with Scotts. And I decided to give them a second chance.

I know that they don't deserve a second chance but everyone makes mistakes and I think they deserve one. After all, I can change my decision any time. It's my life and they can't do anything about it. I just that there was no harm in giving them a second chance.

I even forgot the fact that I would have to leave for Knight's house tonight till Fiona reminded me about it. Fiona is their daughter which means that she is like a sister to me and I am wondering why they abandoned me when they gave birth to another child and kept her with them. Finally, when all of us got back to our house, few men helped me pack along with my parents till I was ready to leave.

Knights lived in Italy, which was my birth country, and it took a while for us to get there. I figured out that they were rich the second I realized we were going from the private jet. When I landed, a black limo was there to take us back.

I felt like some sort of a royalty but if they thought I would choose to live with them just because of all these show-offs, they are wrong because they can't replace all the sacrifices Scotts have made for me.

When we reached the destination, a man opened the door and we all got down. I was mesmerized with the beauty of the mansion and it was exquisite to say the least. Fiona was excited and dragged me inside, which made my heart skip a bit at how beautiful the house was. It was literally my dream house.

I was met up with marble staircase decorated by black railings with golden linings here and there. Each side of the walls held elegant and majestic paintings, the great chandelier being shone from above, lighting the path. The rest of the mansion was just as majestic and leaving me speechless with its beauty.

"Jessica, this is the place you will be living and Fiona will show you around. Damon had some work to do so he had to go to his office. We will go out for dinner and maids will take care of your belongings so you don't have to worry about them." Kate told me while I was looking around.

"Thank you, Mrs. Knight." I thanked her but she raised her hand, stopping me. "Uh-uh. Kate will do and Damon wanted you to call him just Damon because Mr. Knight makes him look like a grandpa or something." We both chuckled and Fiona showed me around for hours but I couldn't memorize the paths because the house was damn huge.

Fiona helped me get dressed for dinner. Even though I wasn't used to all those luxurious lifestyles, I had no choice but to get used to it. I was made to wear a dark-blue crop top and boot-cut pants.

I was looking around my huge room when a girl came to tell me Mrs. Knight wanted me downstairs. I thanked the girl and went downstairs after wearing the heel Fiona had prepared for me and got into an SUV with Fiona and Kate.

After ten minutes or so, I got out of the car and was met with a beautiful building, again. I told myself that I would have gotten used to all the masterpieces.

We all made our way inside to see Demon already waiting for us. Soon, waiters and waitresses came inside with the foods and served us. There was all the food that you could possibly have for the rest of your lives. There was pasta, steak, roasted potatoes, roast chicken and so much more. The whole table was filled with food.

"So, Jessica, how does it feel like to be back in your motherland?" Damon asked and I swallowed the delicious food I was chewing. Don't ask me what I am eating because I don't know anything but how delicious it is.

"I honestly have no idea. I mean these changes are too overwhelming for me but I like it here but thinking about the fact that I am living in a house with people I met merely two weeks ago doesn't feel very pleasant." I shrugged and he nodded in understanding.

"I get it. Well, I actually want to tell you the truth honey. I hope you get prepared for whatever I am going to say because I am sure you won't be able to take it, at least in a good way." Damon said and I nodded, motioning him to continue. Food is life.

"Honey, don't you think it's too early to tell her? She just got here three hours ago." Kate spoke and I just stuffed my face with foods I have never eaten before. Don't judge me. Food comes before anything.

"Yes, but I am sure we will have to tell her sooner or later." Damon replied and Kate sighed in reply.

"Why don't you tell her tomorrow during dinner?" I stopped stuffing my mouth to look at them arguing.

"Tell me what? Just tell me. I don't think there would be something more surprising than finding my real parents after living twenty years of my life." My voice was a bit sarcastic but I ignored it and drank some water.

"You aren't our biological daughter." The room grew silent and I almost choked on the little bit of water that was lingering in my throat.

I couldn't breathe upon hearing the words and wasn't in the mood to eat anymore. I've finally got over the fact that I was lied my whole life and those who put up an act and told me I was their daughter fucking had to break it in my face that I was a mistake.

What a way to enjoy your dinner!
