Chereads / Hell Shifter / Chapter 16 - Black Orcs

Chapter 16 - Black Orcs

The dungeon was a cave, but it was much larger than the gnoll's cave. The cave's walls were lit by fire, unlike Gnoll's cave, which was dark.

"Everyone, get into your position and stay alert," Jenson said.

The moment they stepped forward, a window appeared, sending shivers down their spines.

[Team Quest]

[The first one to leave]

Difficulty:??

Mission: Kill ten black orcs.

Reward: A person can leave the dungeon.

--------

"WHAAT?"

"Black orcs?"

Everyone began to panic. The Black Orcs are the biggest, strongest, and most brutal of the orc race. They have dark green skin that is harder than a red orc.

Normally, orcs have less intelligence, but black orcs have the same intelligence as humans. This makes them one of the most dangerous and notorious A-rank monsters.

[The dungeon gate has been blocked.]

"NO"

"What are we going to do?"

"The gate is blocked."

Everybody was in chaos. Some were beginning to tear up, while others were blaming the association for not measuring the mana density of the gate properly.

'Shit, this is the worst-case scenario. The dungeon gate won't open until the mission is over, or all of us die.' Jenson thought

'Let's calm down first, and think about it.'

After pondering for some time, Jenson shouted.

"Everyone calm down and listen,"

"How can we calm down?"

"We're gonna die, and you're telling us to calm down,"

"Would you please keep quiet and listen to the captain?" Nina said.

"And you asshole, you are a B-rank hunter, so behave like one," Nina pointed at Ulric.

"You bitch, what did you say?"

As Ulric stepped toward Nina, a punch landed on his face and threw him away.

"You should respect the lady," Edric said.

'Ah~, this feels so good. This one was for glancing at my woman earlier. '

"You son of–"

"SILENCE,"

Jenson released his magic power, making everyone silent.

"If you people want to get out of this place, then stop arguing; otherwise we are all gonna die here."

"So, what do you want to do? Die here or make it out alive."

Everyone replied in unison,

"Make it out alive."

"So, stop fooling around,"

Jenson had a serious expression.

'I can't use this sword any longer,'

Edric put his dull sword in his inventory.

After seeing Edric put his sword in his inventory, Ulric asked,

"What are you doing?"

He didn't respond and took out the Frozen Shadow. Everyone was speechless upon seeing the sword.

Seeing the greatsword, Ulric's eyes filled with greed. Greed to obtain the greatsword.

"Hi, kid, How much do you want?"

"Want? What?" Edric tilted his head.

"How much money do you want for that sword?"

"This sword is not for sale,"

"I will give you as much money as you want."

If Ulric had known who Edric really was, he wouldn't have made such a stupid offer.

"I already said that this sword isn't for sale, and even if I did want to sell it, I wouldn't sell it to you."

"YOU!" Ulric's face twisted with anger.

"You two stop this"

"And if you want to buy anything, do it after we leave this place." Jenson said, looking at Ulric with a threatening aura.

*Gulp*

Ulric swallowed his dry saliva.

"We have to kill ten black orcs for one person to leave, right?" Nina asked.

"Yeah, it seems so."

"Then, we should first decide who will leave,"

"You are right," Jenson nodded.

"Isn't obvious–"

Jenson interrupted Ulric before he could finish his sentence.

"John, you'll leave first."

"Me?"

"Yeah, you're the weakest, so you're going first."

"Anyone has any problem with this?"

"No,"

Ulric didn't answer, so Jenson looked at him.

"Any problem?"

"No," he gritted his teeth.

"Now, since everything has been decided, let us hunt some black orcs,"

------

Outside the dungeon,

More and more mana began to gather around the gate. Seeing that, people from the association panicked and measured the reading of the gate.

"Miss…Miss Myra, the gate converted from a C to an S rank dungeon."

"What?"

Myra's eyes widened, not only Myra but the reporters and hunters were also dumbfounded.

"Move,"

Travis said and attempted to enter the dungeon, but an invisible barrier prevented him from doing so.

"What?" Travis frowned.

"There is a barrier,"

"Barrier? That means it's a quest type dungeon," Mayra said.

"Yeah,"

"Then the chances of them surviving are higher," Myra said, somewhat relieved.

"We can't say for sure, since it's an S-rank dungeon, after all."

Travis took off his coat and handed it over to his assistant.

"What are you doing?"

"Trying to determine their chances of survival."

"What?"

Before Mayra could understand anything, Travis's right hand was engulfed in blue lightning.

Travis punched the invisible barrier, causing a large explosion.

Everything was covered in smoke after the explosion.

"Cough! What happened? "

"Wind Ball,"

Travis's assistant used his wind magic to clear the smoke. Once the smoke cleared, they could see Travis's back.

Travis was looking at his hand, which was bleeding. Bleeding? The S-rank was bleeding?

"Their chances of surviving are less than one percent." Travis said.

Seeing that and hearing his words, Myra's face became pale.

The entire event was broadcast to the whole world.

--------

In Edric's house, Edric's mom was watching TV with a pale face.

Seeing her face, Alvin asked,

"What happened? What's with that face? "

She pointed toward the TV and said, in a weak voice,

"That the dungeon Eddie want to,"

"What?"

He looked at the TV and saw clips of Travis punching the gate.

'This type of explosion…'

After watching the clip, Alvin looked at his wife's face, which worsened as time passed..

"I told him not to go on a raid today." Tears streamed down her face.

Hearing her words, he raised his eyebrows.

"Wait, you had a vision?"

"No, I didn't have a vision, but I was feeling uneasy about letting him go on this raid."

'Is her ability developing?' Alvin

Elena was gifted with the ability of foresight, which allowed her to see the future, but she could not control this ability, so she could only see what appeared in her dreams.

Until now, in every vision she had, she saw large threats to humanity, such as dungeon breaks and SS-rank dungeon formations. Through her ability, many lives were saved.

Alvin kneeled next to her and held her hands.

"Don't worry, you don't have a vision about this, so nothing will go wrong."

"But–"

"Elena, you should have faith in your son. He's an S-rank, and Jenson is also there. "

Alvin wiped her tears with his finger.

Upon hearing her husband's words of comfort, Elena calmed down a little.

-----------

There was an uproar in the building of the Fire Eagle Guild.

In the hallway, Alina was blocked by half the guild members.

"Guild Master, you can't go. If you go, there will be a war. "

"I don't give a shit about that. That damn association didn't measure that gate properly. I'm gonna destroy that fucking hunters' association."

Alina was furious at the carelessness of the association because of this. Her brother's life is in danger. She wanted to go and destroy the associations, but her guild members tried to restrain her.

"It's not the association's fault. The gate evolves at the time when your brother and his party go in."

"That's the point. Why did it evolve when my brother went in? It didn't happen to me or other guild members. That sly old bastard planned it. He is trying to kill my brother since he didn't join the association."

"You guys move," Alina said, threateningly.

"You don't leave us with any other choice." Louisa said.

"Guys, don't let her leave this building."

"Are you sure you want to do this, Louisa?"

Alina narrowed her eyes.

"Yeah, we are,"

And a fierce fight began.
