Twenty years ago, gates suddenly appeared all over the world.
The "gates" lead to another world, the "dungeon." It's through these gates that monsters pour out in droves from the dungeons.
When left unattended without raiding, they will eventually become supersaturated and burst. The phenomenon is known as Dungeon Break.
The Dungeon Break, in which a dungeon bursts and monsters pour out, results in millions of injuries and thousands of deaths across the country.
People had "awakened" the power to fight monsters. As a result, these awakened people would emerge as "hunters," hunting monsters in dungeons, becoming one of the most prevalent occupations in the world.
In the beginning, civilians were treated equally by the hunters. But as time passed, society divided into awakeners and non-awakeners.
The best example of this is Aozora Middle School, also known as the Trash Bin. Although the school had a nice building and good teachers, the students were regarded as trash. The students at this school all come from poor backgrounds or have no awakened one in the family.
In Aozora Middle School Class 1-2, a boy with messy black hair and blue eyes sat on the last seat. There were some bruises on his left cheek. He is Andrew, 12 years old.
Bzzz Bzzz
Upon hearing the school bell, the teacher concluded his class.
"That's it for today. You may leave,"
"Thank you for the lesson," All students said in unison.
Andrew picked up his bag and left the class. His classmate avoided him because of his creepy, lifeless eyes and messy hair. So, he didn't have any friends at school.
In just a few minutes, he was outside the school building.
After twenty minutes of walking, he reached the large building. Entering the building, he took the elevator to the eighth floor.
When Andrew opened the door, he felt a familiar sensation in his stomach that sent him flying. He crashed into the wall and fell to the ground, causing him to cry in pain.
"AAAHH!"
"You piece of shit, you are five minutes late," a man with black hair and black eyes shouted.
The man was Andrew's uncle, Derick Matthews. When he was six years old, his parents suddenly passed away. The cause of their death is still unknown. Because he was a child then, he could not remember his parents' faces, and there were no photos of them in the house.
Andrew moved in with his uncle's family after his parents passed away. This has been the worst decision of his life so far. Initially, they treated him well but later started thrashing him. He had to sleep on the floor, eat the leftover food, do the chores, and if he messed up, he would be beaten by his uncle. They used him as a punching bag to relieve their frustration and stress.
"I'm sorry, uncle,"
Following Andrew's words, his uncle grabbed his hair and dragged him into the house.
As much as Andrew wanted to free himself from his uncle's grasp, doing so would only worsen matters.
In the house, his uncle threw him around like a ball.
THUD
"Today, I will teach you the importance of being on time."
'Here, we go again,' Andrew thought.
His uncle began to kick him like a football. From inside the room, a beautiful woman walked out.
"You should stop now; otherwise, he will die," the woman said.
She had long brown hair with brown eyes, which complimented her striking face.
She is Vania Matthews, Andrew's aunt. Please don't go on her beautiful face; she had the worst nature. She might seem sweet on the outside, but on the inside, she is pure evil, not to mention a sadist.
"Maybe you're right," Andrew's uncle said.
Andrew was lying on the floor with blood dripping from his face, and his eyes were half-opened. Despite being beaten by his uncle, he remained silent.
"We should leave, or we will be late," His aunt said.
"Sure, give me a minute. I'll be ready,"
She nodded,
His uncle left the hall, leaving his aunt and him alone.
"Go to your room,"
In response to his aunt's words, Andrew tried getting up, but couldn't muster the strength. He tried a few times but couldn't get up.
Seeing Andrew struggle, his aunt smiled. After a few moments, she said,
"Rest for a while, then clean up the house and get the groceries before we return,"
Andrew looked at his aunt's face with his half-open eyes.
"Understood, my little puppy." She said with a smile on her face.
"Yes, ma'am," Andrew replied in a weak voice.
"That's good. When I get back from this meeting, I will play with you," She said with an evil smile.
As Andrew heard the word "play," he got chills down his spine.
"Let's go. I'm ready," His uncle came from the room, dressed in a black suit and pants.
Both Andrew's aunt and uncle left the house.
Andrew was lying in the hall alone, looking at the ceiling with half-open eyes.

"What a bunch of clowns?"
After saying that, he lost consciousness as tears flowed down his cheeks.
