5 years later
Isaka was losing his mind.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HAS NO CHI?!?!?!?!"
A short man in glasses was terrified.
"I'm sorry my lord but whenever the young master puts his hand on the crystal ball, it shows no readings whatsoever. No fluctuations are present at all. I'm afraid the young master may be crippled."
Kristina rushed in and held Jirael who was visibly distraught.
"IMPOSSIBLE. I'VE BEEN TRAINING HIM MYSELF ALL THIS TIME. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE THAT HE DOESN'T HAVE CHI."
Isaka released his murderous intent. Jirael was just barely holding on to his consciousness. Kristina fell down to her knees, holding Jirael tightly. Everyone else was experiencing seizures.
"So it's because of you that such a talent was crippled? Good GOOD!!!NOW HE'S USELESS!!! Do you remember what I said to you five years ago? I said if he amounts to nothing, I'll kill him."
Kristina knew that Isaka wasn't joking. He was serious. He was dead serious. He was going to kill Jirael and then imprison her. She knew what she had to do.
"JIRAEL! RUN!!!!!!"
She charged at Isaka. No matter what, she was going to make sure Jirael escape. In a panic, Jirael ran out the window. He began jumping from roof to roof, doing his best to evade the Lion guards chasing him. He had better physical prowess than most people so he could outrun them. When he was almost out of the central district, he began having flash backs of the time he spent together with Kristina. All the times she took care of him flashed in his head.
"NO"
He stopped running. The pursuers behind him were catching up. He turned to face them. With his long black hair rustling in the wind, his resolve was hardened. He remembered Kristina's words.
"Remember Rai Rai. Never hesitate in front of an enemy. Whether they're sentient or a beast, once they harbour killing intent, kill them. If you want to survive and avenge your mother, then you have to have the resolve to kill your way through."
All the fighting techniques he was taught would be put to the test today. He took out his twin daggers. He was resolved in killing them. The beast within him was slowly being released.
Meanwhile inside the palace
Kristina was losing terribly. She couldn't land any hits on her father at all. Isaka would periodically one shot her and send her flying but she would always return and fight again. Isaka kicked her away.
"I'm getting tired of dealing with you. I will kill the brat one way or another."
Kristina got up and charged again but this time, Isaka grabbed her by the head and smashed her into the ground. He did that repeatedly and then smashed her spine. The following sound was horrendous as Kristina released the most blood-curdling scream ever.
"AAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!"
Rooftops a few hundred metres from the palace
Jirael was littering the roof with corpses when he heard Kristina scream. Hearing her suffering ignited a fire within him as the primal rage inside of him came out. He began a ruthless killing spree as he made his way over to the palace. His iris turned red and the outline was black. It was the first stage of the Kaminome. He had awakened it. Black chi also started emanating from him like a flame. His abilities increased considerably after that, making him rise from 1st Gate intermediate stage to 2nd Gate initial stage. He brutally slaughtered the knights. With his vision enhanced, he could detect miniscule movements and could perfectly see arrow heads, needles and chi blasts from afar. He decapitated groups of guards using the Lotus Arts Kristina taught him. Lotus Arts was something Kristina made herself since there weren't any good technique books for daggers. He was finally in view of the palace and his acceleration exploded. He had put his daggers away and was using all four of his limbs to scale the high palace walls at lightning speed. He vaulted over the wall and jumped through the window. As he landed on all fours, he was just a few metres from Isaka and the sight he saw infuriated him. There was the closest thing he had to a mother, beneath the feet of a tyrant, bloodied and beaten with tears in her eyes. The seal on Jirael started to loosen due to his overwhelming range. He started to grow canines and his black chi became more dense like an oil sludge. As it covered him, it formed a sort of cloak. He roared.
"RAAAAAAAA!!! I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU!!!!"
His rage boosted his combat ability to the peak stage of the 2nd Gate. Jirael was fighting on pure instinct. He was overwhelming Isaka because of the bizarre fighting moves he was using. 150 million years of living meant experiencing and creating and fusing different kinds of fighting styles. Those were engraved into his soul. Jirael wasn't able to land any hits since his speed was far far lower than Isaka's. The difference between 2nd Gate and 9th Gate was simply indescribable. Isaka was simply testing Jirael.
"I'd previously thought of just killing the brat but so far it seems he has some secrets. Also this abnormal chi is incredibly pure. I'll have to study it later but for now, let's end this little game."
With that, he teleported behind Jirael, grabbed his head and smashed it with so much force into the ground that it instantly knocked him out. He called out for one of the soldiers to take Jirael to the dungeons and for Kristina to be locked in her room under tight surveillance.
2 weeks later
Jirael was hung up by chains in front of a wooden wall and looked bruised and battered. There was dry blood all over his body. At that moment, a man entered.
"I never get tired of seeing how you always heal after the things I've done to you. Most people would already be dead by now. Now then, shall we get started?"
He picked up some rods and dipped them into a pit filled with molten lava. He waited a while and then after he took them out, he went to Jirael.
"Wakey wakey little lad. It's time for our morning greeting so HELLO!!!"
He shoved the hot rod into Jirael's stomach. He opened his eyes.
"KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
The man had a wide grin on his face as Jirael howled out in pain.
"Yes yes YES. THATS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE!!!"
He proceeded to shove some more onto his arms and legs. Each time, Jirael would scream louder and louder as the pain intensified. His body was shaking violently as it stiffened. This was done everyday for the past two weeks. The man spoke.
"Hey little buddy. I'm feeling a bit cold so you won't mind if I turn the heater on right?"
Jirael didn't respond. The man smiled.
"... I'll take your silence as a yes then."
With that, he went over to the corner and pulled a chain. Right underneath Jirael's feet, a trapdoor opened and underneath it was a fire. It was so close that the heat burned his feet. Jirael couldn't handle it anymore. He passed out.
...
It was nighttime. Jirael was in a daze.
"Wh-what's happening? Where am I?"
He then heard a familiar voice. It was Kristina.
"It's okay Rai Rai. Rest for a while."
She was jumping from roof to roof. She had managed to escape from her room and managed to find Jirael hanging from the chains. She immediately killed his torturer and escaped the palace. Right now they were running towards the city wall up north. She was running as fast as she can while holding Jirael in her arms. They soon reached the city wall. Now all they have to do is cross it. Kristina ran up the city wall and what was left was crossing the width of it which was a close to 500 metres. Her skills as an assassin made her steps silent so even the guards couldn't detect her.
"Tch I can't believe they'd do this to him. He's a child and yet fa- that bastard did this."
The rage was boiling within her.
Meanwhile, 5km away at the palace
On the rooftop, Isaka was standing next to a giant of a man. He had three arms with two of them acting as his right hands. He had a massive bow. Isaka was standing with his arms behind his back, his robe moving with the gentle breeze. He had tied his azure hair in a ponytail.
"Beiron. You know what to do. Don't kill her."
Beiron nodded and readied his bow. He could see Kristina running up the wall. He waited until she reached the top. As soon as she reached it, he let loose an arrow. A loud bang was heard as soon as the arrow went flying.
...
Kristina was running when she felt an arrow Pierce right through here. It had went through stomach. All the strength she had evaded her as she fell to the ground, dropping Jirael in the process. She felt her chi slowly being sealed. This was a chi sealing arrow. Rune language for sealing chi would be carved on the arrow tips. She could feel her core was being sealed slowly but she had enough chi for one last gamble. She went over to Jirael who was awake but could barely move from his wounds.
"Listen here little Rai Rai. I'm going to throw you far away now. I can't move anymore but I have enough power to get you out. It doesn't make sense for both of us suffer right?"
Jirael's voice was weak as he spoke.
"No...I refuse...I...can't lose...you."
Kristina smiled a weak smile.
"It's okay little Rai. Father won't punish me that much. I'm afraid he'll harm you though so it's okay."
She picked him up and Jirael began screaming.
"No no no!!! Put me DOWN. PUT ME DOWN!!!"
Kristina was still smiling as tears came out.
"I love you Jirael. I didn't say it before but I do. I've been the happiest these five years. I want you to live."
She charged up her remaining chi into her arms. Jirael kept begging. Tears were coming out.
"NO NO DON'T DO IT. PLEASE DON'T!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!'
Kristina shot Jirael into the air, sending him very far. As soon as she did that, she collapsed. She could hear the guards coming. She smiled as she passed out.
