Chapter 1 - Shoot me!

Grrrrr Grrrrrrr

Grrrrrrr Grrrrr

"Shut up! shut up! shut up!!!!!!!" Lei Wei screamed at the poor alarm clock, trying to do its Job.

She stretched her hands to shut the alarm, but it was far from her.

"How on earth did you get there!" she grumbled once more, angry at the alarm clock for not being within her reach; she struggled to get herself out of bed to shut the alarm earlier and for all before realizing why the alarm had been shouting at her for some time.

"Oh no, is that even a correct time, is that 8:00 am?!" her eyes widened as she collapsed lazily on the ground.

If she was ever told her life would be messed up like her room, she would have strangled whoever said the 27-year-old young clumsy lady.

She looked rolled her eyes, glancing at every corner of her room. As far as her eyes could see, it was basically a mess.

"What in the world happened here?" she thought to herself

But that wasn't the foremost thing on her mind.

"Another day with that arrogant piece of trash i call boss" She gritted her teeth at the thought of that as his stoned face flashed through her mind.

Just then, her phone started to ring; she stretched her hands slowly, lifting herself up to grab the phone from her bed.

"Speaking of the devil," she thought as she answered the call

"Lei Weiii! Where on earth are you? I don't know, and I don't care," asking the question and providing its answer immediately without allowing her to breathe

He raised his voice slowly while Lei Wei rolled her eyes, cussing him under her breath.

"I'm really sorry sir, I'm already on my way I'll be there before you know it."

She said anxiously, trying to remove her pajamas with her phone almost falling from her hands.

"If you aren't here in the next 15 minutes consider yourself fired!!" He said, ending the call abruptly.

She knew he wasn't even joking.

She immediately dashed into the bathroom, she tried to reach for ger soap from ger bathroom shelf, but it fell, and the soap ended up receiving the heat of her anger.

After two minutes, she was done with what a few people would call bathing.

she immediately picked up her toothbrush and brushed her teeth faster than her hands could carry; she got out immediately, thinking of what to wear when her phone rang; she stared at her phone for some split seconds

"Not again, mother! Someone had better be dying for you to be calling me this early," she said, placing it on her ears while using the upper part of her shoulder to pin it.

"And that was meant to be your greeting, huh? Wei Wei, her mother, snapped back at her as she picked the less rumpled black trouser in her closet and a white long sleeve with a matching black Jacket which she planned to wear to work.

" I'm sorry mother, Good morning mom," she said, dropping the phone on the bed and placing it on the loudspeaker instead.

"You should be sorry, most especially sorry for not bringing a man to the house up until now," she said with so much criticism.

"Not again mother, especially not this morning," she sighed

"Why not Wei, Why not?!

you are 27 years old for crying out loud, your mates already have 2 children running around and you are still in the mushy place you call an apartment which is actually a mess right now."

"Mother please, i will tell you what i always say," she said, fixing the last button on her shirt.

"I will get married soon."

"Soon Wei, Soon!!!"

"You said that last year and the year before that, soon never comes with you huh?"

While Wei packed up her bag and set to leave, her mother complained that her hair was a beautiful mess. Still, she had placed a comb in her purse as her mother kept talking with Wei, Paying little or no attention to what she was saying.

" Okay mother I've heard, all you say i should do i will do"

"Did you even hear a word i said? Weiiii!!"

Gotta go, Mother; I'm late for work; I'll call you later. Bye, Mom, love you," she said, hanging up immediately.

"Wait... you!!!!" Lie Wei's mother grunted after realizing she had ended the call; just when she was about to leave the room, she heard a loud knock on the door; she walked to the small sitting room in her bedroom apartment angrily to know who was knocking so loudly this morning disturbing her peace.

"Miss Wei, Miss, Miss," he said, Knocking on the door.

"Oh No, it's the landlord," she thought to herself as her heart skipped a beat, slowly tiptoeing backward towards the back window, trying to make little or no sounds at all.

"What in the world is wrong with this man? I told him I would pay," she thought angrily as she tried to wriggle through the back window, landing on her butt.

"Ouch!!! She exclaimed as the pain she felt from the fall could be seen on her face; she immediately stood up, walking briskly on the lawn, trying to pull her pointed heels from the ground as she made her way to a concrete floor.

"Taxi!!!!" She called out with a stretched arm

"Park Corporation"

"Yes, ma'am"

She checked her wristwatch. She was already 2 minutes late

"Can you go a little faster?" she asked the driver bringing out her comb from her bag to look presentable.

In actuality, the only reason she cared a little about her looks was that her boss might end up firing her if she came to work looking like a mentally Ill patient,

"Alright ma'am that would be 5 dollars," he said as she brought out the note from her purse and handed it over to him after smacking her lips red.

She got out immediately, rushing towards the building while missing a step.

"I knew this shoe was a bad idea!" she mumbled as visible folds appeared on her face; she was about to remove the shoe and walk in barefooted when she saw one of the board of directors of the company coming out through the exit door, she immediately adjusted her walking step and plastered a smile on her face, she was the assistant of the CEO of the company, the least she could do was save his image.

She hurried off into the elevator leading to the 3rd floor, where her boss's office was, after snarling at Ki Tan for calling her a latecomer.

The elevator opened, revealing the entrance to her office, she stepped out, trying to coordinate her steps so as not to make so much noise, but her heels wouldn't have it; she pulled off her shoe and tiptoed into her office because she didn't want her boss to know she arrived late.

She quickly took care of the documents her boss wanted her to sort, but she hadn't summoned the courage to face him.

She sat on the chair, letting out a sigh of exhaustion as her phone rang loudly, announcing her presence in her tiny office.

She pulled out the phone from her bag, revealing the caller. It was her best friend.

Jan Di

"Shoot me!"
