Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Unit 9110

The sound of blasters went off, alerting Unit 9110. The beastman hopped onto his rover and drove it in the direction, assuming his subordinate found the cultivator. When the beastman got close, the area was dead quiet.

"Unit 9131 must be down. I need to call back up right away."

Picking up his device, he called in the request.

"This is Unit 9110. I request back up at our patrol location."

The beastman looked around until the reply came in.

~~Responding, Units 9346 and 9345 are on the way~~

When the response came through, the beastman finally got eyes a figure standing in the distance over a beastman. Unit 9110 lifted his blaster up and aimed it. Slowing pulling on the trigger, an energy projectile flew towards the target.

"Leo, duck down!"

Leo heard the command and tried to crouch but fell over instead. The blast zipped over him, leaving a notable mark on a nearby tree. If Sprite could sigh in relief, he would've. The boy was face down into the dirt.

"Leo, gather some energy to recover," commanded Sprite.

Since the distance between the two parties is far, the beastman assumed the man falling over was due to the blaster. So, he got onto his vehicle and drove over to them.

He parked the rover a meters away and stared at the face-down human. "What a human?"

Beastmen controlled most of North America, and they could count the humans who stepped on the path of cultivation on one hand. Seeing one at mid Tempered Body realm surprised Unit 9110.

"Sir, activating my secret technique. Solar Flare!"

A runic symbol flashed on Leo's wrist. An energy sphere burst from Sprite. Then a blinding light engulfed the boy and burned the beastman's irises.

"Ahhhhhh...I can't see…" screamed Unit 9110. "Damn you, human!"

Solar Flare was a technique Sprite came up with after utilizing the energy rune he found in the Smithsonian. Even though Leo wasn't at the level to use external energy, Sprite could, and thus Sprite invented a new technique using the rune and yang energy. Up to this point, Sprite never had to use it.

"Leo, attack now with everything you have."

"Ughh..." Leo grunted as he pushed off the ground and executed an Ascending Sun. "Take this!"

The uppercut caught the beastman directly in the gut. It felt like Leo punched 5-inch steel. Little did he know, the beastman cultivated to the early stages of Aura Fighter, and his Beast arts focused on his skin and claws.

The technique Iron Skin allowed one to slowly absorb metal energy into one's skin eventually creating impenetrable body armor.

The beastman lost breathe as he bent over. The only thing Unit 9110 wanted to do was kill this boy.

The attack destroyed Leo's fist and split his knuckles open in several places. He needed to get away quickly and spotted the rover. He ran over and got on.

"Sprite, how do I operate this thing?"

"Human!" *coughs* "Get over here!" While out of breath and blinded, Unit 9110 could only swing at empty air trying to kill the boy.

"Sir, I've scanned this vehicle, and twisting the right handle forward will allow it to move in that direction. Also, the left handle..."

The engine turned over, and the rover took off. The force of the rover caused Leo to lose his breathe for a second, but soon the excitement made him grin from ear to ear. His enjoyment made him forget his exhaustion and pain of his busted left hand.

Hearing the hoverbike drive off, the beastman yelled, "Get back here!"

Leo sped off, heading west down the river.

"Sprite, what direction is the other beastmen arriving from."

"Sir, keep heading in this direction. I'm 87% sure they will arrive from the east."

-------------------------------------

Two rovers arrived at Unit 9110's location after a few minutes went by. "Unit 9346, the Boss is up ahead." Unit 9345 and 9346 landed next to Unit 9110.

The anger on Unit 9110's face was contorting his face. He was grinding his teeth. With his vision finally returned, the shame of being tricked by a dirty human pissed him off greatly.

He put away his blaster and commanded, "Unit 9345, give me your rover and recover 9131's body."

Unit 9345 got off the rover and headed over to the body. When he got over to the body, he was shocked to see that the beastman was finished off by a blaster and not martial arts.

"Boss did Unit 9131 die because of …." Just as he was about to finish his sentence, the two rovers took off toward the west. "I better not report this if I want to live." The beastman looked down, feeling sorry for his fellow beastman who died.

The two rovers sped west as fast as possible.

"Boss, what kind of rogue warrior is it?"

"He's human," replied the beastman, short and straightforward.

"How did a human warrior get past you?"

Unit 9346's word cut the boss deep. A human warrior defeated two of his men and embarrassed an Aura Fighter such as himself.

"Damn it!!!!"

Unit 9110 slowed down and pulled out his blaster again. An energy blast penetrated the back of the beastman on the other rover.

"Boss…."

Losing strength, Unit 9346 lost control of his craft. The hoverbike weaved and crashed into the river.

"No one will speak of this, and I will kill that human." Picking up the communicator, "Unit 9346 is down, still in pursuit of the warrior."

When Unit 9435 heard the call, he froze, and without another thought, he ran north. He had to get away from Unit 9110 as fast as possible, knowing he would be silenced next.

With Unit 9110 pushing the rover to max speed, he spotted a rover in the distance. Right away, the beastman knew that it was the human. Gaining on the human, Unit 9110 fired his blasters at him.

"Sir, jump off the rover now."

As Leo leaped off the rover, it was blasted to pieces, and shrapnel pierced him. The metal shard pierced Leo's leg. Landing on an embankment, he rolled, causing the shrapnel to aggravate his leg.

The beastman sped past on his rover. Seeing the beastman making a U-turn, Leo looked around, and Sprite scanned the area.

"Leo, move towards that area now."

Leo limped over to an old chain link fenced area. He pulled up the fence and slid under the chain link to barely dodge a plasma blast. The shot destroyed the fenced area next to him.

"Sir, I am going to transfer the yin energy I was storing."

Slowly a cool sensation swept over Leo. This feeling was like bathing in the moonlight of many moons in one evening.

The beastman leaped off the rover and placed his blaster on it. He looked over at the human and smiled.

"I will enjoy ripping you limb from limb."

Channeling metal energy into his claws, he ran at Leo.

Leo looked to his right and grabbed a fence post. Channeling all of his yin energy into the pole, swinging the fence post over his head. The concrete encasing the end slammed down onto the charging beastman.

"Eat my Descending Moon!"

Using the makeshift mace made of a steel pole and solid rock, Leo smashed it down on Unit 9110's head. The sound of cracking concrete and the beastman's skull surprised even Leo. He had never channeled energy into a weapon before, but seeing the effect firsthand amazed him.

The beastman's vision blurred, and he reached forward to grab the human. All Unit 9110 wanted to do was wipe away his shame. Kill this human and become the leader someday. He took another step but collapsed as he fell down unconscious.

"Sprite, is it finally over?" asked Leo as he slumped down on his rump.

"Yes, Sir. He is finally out cold."

Hearing those words, Leo finally breathed a sigh of relief. He laid back as Sprite began to nag him about quickly getting out of the area. Leo just couldn't move anymore and closed his eyes.

"Sir, there is a ship approaching."

The boy didn't move. Today completely overdrew his body's stamina and energy. He felt like a sponge squeezed dry.

As the boy lay there, a hovercraft the size of a building flew above the boy. A steel net was shot out, pinning Leo to the ground. The sudden capture awoke the boy from his peaceful slumber.

A beastman jumped down from the craft twice as large as Unit 9110. The large man-beast walked over to Unit 9110.

"You lost your honor. Now begone from our race."

The large beastman killed the injured beastman with an Iron Reaver through the skull finishing him off.

"That is what you get for killing your subordinates."

He then walked his way over and looked down at the human. Grinning through his sharp teeth, he said, "Hello human, you will make a fine slave."

Leo felt the beastman was death itself. Blood dripping from his claw and a dark purple color eyes. His ears were pointy and covered in silver fur. The armor he wore was traditional armor with additional iron plates on it.

"Sir, you have 0% chance of escaping," Sprite interjected, snapping Leo out of his fear.

"Shut up, Sprite."

The beastman with silver fur walked over, "Goodnight," and punched Leo so hard he was knocked out cold. The silver-furred man dragged the human up into the ship by the net and threw him into the prison cell. Then the craft flew off back east to the beastman's base of operations.
