Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Dream

Miranda Chow is having repeated dreams again. She can't remember how many times she has dreamed of the same scene. She was standing in a warm and bright space, surrounded by silence. She looked around and couldn't find the edge of the space and there was no one around. However, this emptiness didn't make her feel scared, her heart seemed to be as peaceful as the environment here.

Suddenly, a clear bird chirp cut through the sky. Miranda Chow was not surprised, she has expected and waited for it.

Looking up at the sky, the sun was so dazzling that she had to spread her palms to cover it. The giant bird flew in the sky, blocking the sunlight above her head. She barely opened her eyes and saw the translucent white feathers of the giant bird.

At this moment, a gentle and firm male voice appeared- "Please don't forget me."

The voice came from far away, but Miranda could hear it clearly. She couldn't see the man, but she seemed to be familiar with the voice in the dream. She smiled and waved to the sky, and the giant white bird sang again and flew away from her sight.

The sun shone on Miranda's face again, stabbing her to close her eyes, tears slipped from her eyes and fell on her cheek.

Then, a force came from nowhere, lingering around Miranda, blowing the tulle of her clothes. She closed her eyes, feeling the mysterious power around her gradually increasing, while her body became lighter and lighter...until she was drawn into this power, the surrounding light disappeared in an instant, she fell into complete darkness.

The dream always came to an abrupt end at this time.

Miranda was awakened by the sunlight from the curtains. She can still feel the wet tears on her cheek. There was no loud chirping of a giant white bird outside the window, but a black crow was stepping on a telephone pole, making an annoying sound. The hustle and bustle of people and cars downstairs also faintly entered the house.

Miranda has long been accustomed to this dream that occurs every once in a while. She sat up disapprovingly, stretched her waist, and the sense of sorrow in the dream quickly dissipated. It is 8:55 in the morning, she woke up five minutes earlier than the alarm clock. Miranda washes up, dresses up, eats breakfast, and then walks leisurely to her animal hospital, just in time for the opening time. Usually, if there is no urgent matter, her first customer will arrive half an hour later.

Miranda really enjoys this slow pace, her only goal in life is to live a comfortable life with no stress. She doesn't need much money, just enough to support her life, and she doesn't envy the wealth and honour, it's more important to be able to do what she likes. She loves her comfortable lifestyle, and she has a satisfied smile on her face all the time.

She has struggled with her parents for many years to finally live in her own way.

In fact, the Chow family has been practicing in the medical area for three generations and there are many outstanding doctors and physicians from the family. Miranda's parents have also made a life plan for her since she was born. Both Chinese and Western medicine are good, she must inherit the family aspirations and become another excellent doctor in the Chow family.

Her parents hoped that she would grow healthily like the stem and vine of a plant, and be as tough as a vine.

However, Miranda has shown the characteristics of "lying flat" since he was a child. When she was in school, her grades were neither top nor bad. She always dangled in the "top ten" that her parents required. When applying for university, although she filled the entire page with popular majors in the medical university according to her parent's wishes, she was always complaining about the long road to study.

At the most critical moment, her "lying flat" system worked again, successfully allowing her to press the admission line to be admitted to a medical university, bypassing the most popular and hardest majors such as traditional Chinese medicine and clinical, and got admitted to Animal Studies major. In other words, she would become a vet after graduation. This makes Miranda so happy and excited as she loves animals and always wished to work for the natural life.

Miranda's parents strongly objected and asked her to retake the exam. Miranda brought out the big truth of the balance between man and nature, and that human beings and animals are equally important. She even asked a professor of veterinary at the Medical University to help her persuade her parents, and finally won in this battle. This is the first time Miranda made a decision for herself.

In order to completely get rid of her parents' control, Miranda also endured a lot of hardships. She climbed snow-capped mountains and ran across grasslands with the school's scientific research projects, and travelled around half of China. Finally, she escaped from the big, busy cities and settled down in the beautiful Sichuan province.

She rents a small retail space and opened her own Pet Hospital.

To make a living, she has additionally learned skills such as pet grooming and pet training. These are not difficult for Miranda, as she always has a natural affinity with animals.

Now, her business is becoming more and more stable. Whether it is cats, dogs or lizard, hamsters, she can always rely on her most professional ability and the most enthusiastic attitude to help animals stay away from pain or radiant. In addition, Miranda also uses her spare time as a volunteer at the panda park. She is enjoying every second she spends with the animals.

However, on a ordinary Friday evening, Miranda's dreamy life was ruined by a red-haired fox who suddenly broke into the panda park!
