Adan Falkner stepped on the black floor as light pierced through the high window, pushing the darkness though only slightly.
With Shandalar beside him, Adan saw a pair of black gates with detailed carvings running all over from top to bottom. In the middle, a pair of black dragons opened their jaws, revealing a large pull ring.
His steps echoed on the cold floor as he approached. Two men with faces hidden under a robe pulled the gate for him. Adan caught the sight of a large scar on their face.
Slowly, the gate opened with a heavy creak, dragging the bottom along the floor then it thumped at the end.
Beyond the gate was a large circular hall with a circular table at the center. The room was dark with only tiny specs of light leaking through some cracks.
