Chereads / One Last Dream / Chapter 7 - Pt 6: My castle

Chapter 7 - Pt 6: My castle

"You look lovely, my Queen." King Royal says, looking from a distance. "The dress looks amazing on you."

I take one last look at my dress in the mirror with disgust and quickly take it off. "That was such an ugly color."

My dream fades as my eyes flicker open. I get up from a soft cushion and suddenly I'm on my feet. Looking around was the best thing I could do. I knew I was still in the cave considering the rocky black walls and only torches of light hung on the wall.

The cushion had a weird texture from the usual feeling of home. It wasn't fancy it was oddly unusual. Where I laid standing was a figure of a bed with tree trunks as holders. The cushion felt like sitting on feathers.

I felt strange being here. I began to tremble with fear when I started to hear loud stomps touching the pavement nearby. My body became like a turtle in its shell. Everything went pitch black. I no longer had my eyesight my vision was a blur.

Seconds later snapping back to reality, my senses came back after having a mini panic attack. Noticing from the corner of my eye, a black figure began to form down the hall.

The loud stomps shortened to regular foot steps and with just a quick glance was standing a handsome guy.

There's something remotely intriguing about him. How his hair is perfectly styled in one direction making his face observant. He's got bloodshot black eyes, set deep within their sockets, watching them coursing through my soul. I could already feel the change in my heart beat went 20 times its normal rate.

His appearance looked different from the boys back home. His black furred coat covers just below his knees and hangs loose on his sides. The sleeves of his coat are tight and reach down just about to his wrists. The coat has a narrow v-neck which reveals part of the refined shirt worn below it.

His pants are formal and they reach down to his boots. The boots have the same texture and color as his coat.

As his eyes never left mine, I crouched closer to the corner. When my whole body couldn't go any lower, he began to move. He got closer and closer when finally he was inches away from me. The man crouches down to my level as I saw his head tilt and his lips touches my ear.

"Lilah, You don't have to fear me. I'm ceikenth." The intriguing young man said.

I was still in shock when the words of his name echoed in my head. Ceikenth. Ceikenth. Why does his name sound familiar?

"CEIKENTH HOW ARE YOU NOT A DRAGON?" My voice utterly changed from shocked to stunned. I couldn't believe what I am seeing. A dragon who can transform into a human. A handsome Dragon, I almost fell in love just by staring at him..

Ceikenth stepped back from his crouch and was now in a standing position. He kneels down a bit to stretch out his hand. I gave him a wry look and take it steadying myself up.

I never changed the way I was staring at him two seconds ago. His eyes never left mine either. As we both looked at each other eye to eye, no words came to view, it made me feel as if it were a dream.

Nothing but wonders in my head forming with Ceikenth. Me and him side by side fighting battles together. Both of us saving the world. On top of the castle looking up at the night sky. A fantasy land I should say. Him transforming into a dragon and back to a human. It was amazing.

I snapped back to reality when his voice called my name. "Lilah there's still so much you don't understand." He spoke, and that was the very moment I felt his eyes off of me.

I sighed looking down at my toes. Something about the way I sat brought memories from when I was a kid.

"Why are you sitting in a corner?" My father asked, propping his little butt next to mine.

I sniffed when my nose started to run again. "He broke up with me." I yelped, escaping all the tears I stopped earlier.

"Oh kiddo he's not worth it, If it makes you feel any better, I didn't like him." My father said with his baby voice he used only with me. "Come on, let me show you something." He got up extending his hand showing me to grab it. Which I did.

He leads me to my room where a small kitten lay on my bed. I ran to the kitten, and it started purring.

"You can name her if you want she's yours." I looked at the kitty and back to my father. By then I stopped crying and gave him a big old hug.

"Thank you daddy you're the best. love you." I went back to my kitty.

It took me a while to name my kitten, but I ended up naming her Nina.

I snapped back to reality and started crying, feeling my lungs become powerless. When everything came back to view Ceikenth stared at me. He didn't know what was going on but he held me tight in his warm arms. For a split second I forgot to cry and felt trapped between his smell. He smelled extremely good, the very smell bad boys tend to have. I didn't know what to do but staying still and smelling as much of him as I can.

He moves without giving a fair warning. I'm locked between him and the oxygen circling around us. "Lilah get up I want to show you something." After that we went to our adventure.

The cave looked bigger than I expected. I wondered how he can fit in a tight space like this when he's a dragon.  Ceikenth and I walk down the hall it almost felt like hours considering my legs were beginning to throb of the pain. When thinking to much of how life changed he stopped dead in his tracks in front of a door.

The door had  vines circling around making the door impossible to open with thorns. As I stayed near the door I felt a shiver in my body. Looking deep into the descriptions I could see the crease of the wood coming off. It needed a paint job maybe even remodeling, a new knob. The door knob was missing but left a stain of where it should be. On the top right corner was chipped and cob webs outstretched the corner. If I was back home I wouldn't dare to stop. I wouldn't investigate I would take my small legs and keep walking.

But from the looks of it we were going to open the mysterious door. The look on Ceikenth's face looked determined. How his jawline is outstanding. The way his expression is serious. He gives me the shivers from just standing so close to me. It was getting harder for me to think how he can be a dragon and a regular human being.

He took a long breath when he began to speak, "Delilah I'm going to show you around our cave for you could know where you can go and cannot." He looks at me intensely.

I never left eye contact up until I realized he said "our" cave. "Did you say "our cave?" I question wide-eyed. He didn't give a remark back, I guess he regretted saying it and walked the other way. I didn't hesitate to follow his tracks.

We walked in silence as we passed consistent doors. All the doors looked the same old cracks and dust filled the surrounding of the door. If Ceikenth didn't show me the previous doors I think I'm not allowed. Four more doors passed and he hasn't stopped. Ceikenth finally took a sharp right and stopped. I tried to catch up when I noticed I was alone in the hall and when I saw him I stumbled to the floor.

Great! I just embarrassed myself. I hate being clumsy. He takes out one of his hand to help me back on my feet. "This is the training room. Where I will be teaching you everything you need to know." He says. "I will take you to your room to get a night sleep. Be ready by dawn that's when your training begins."
