Lyra proceeded to dash towards the side as she began to conjure flames but then the tail of this creature was already sweeping towards her.
She quickly evaded it by rolling to the side but this interrupted her channeling process and she had to start over.
Lyra began to run in the opposite direction as quickly as she could but this creature was insanely fast and caught up to her in nearly an instant.
Landria had taught her some movement spells that could be channeled instantly and would help her evade attacks if she found herself in a precarious situation.
However, even with this, Lyra was finding it hard to evade the attacks while channeling a fiery magic spell.
Phoomm~ Phhoomm~
The creature shot out multiple green-colored balls of gas from its mouth as Lyra ran across the place. She managed to use the trees as cover as she ran through the forest.
Anytime the green balls of gas collided with a tree, it would corrode that part of the tree leaving a hole in it. It had a gut-wrenching stink that permeated the entire environment, making Lyra feel as though she was choking.
Seeing as she was unable to use any powerful magic spell without getting interrupted by the multiple attacks coming from behind, Lyra decided to just conjure flames without spells or construction.
Her arms were set ablaze as she turned around while the creature was speedily giving chase from behind.
Gritting her teeth and channeling as much mana as she could, the flames burst forth from her arms as she stretched them forward.
Fhrroooummm~
The temperature of the vicinity increased in multiple folds as blazing yellow flames blasted forward, knocking the creature backward.
Bang!
The creature shrieked in pain as its body slammed into a tree behind and a big scorch mark appeared on its belly.
Lyra breathed in and out heavily with an exhilarated expression as she stared at the creature up ahead.
She realized that even without using any spells, her flames were powerful enough to inflict damage on this creature.
She raised her palm and conjured up a small fireball above it. Then she began using her mana to make it increase in size.
Fwwhooommm~
The circular fire began to expand crazily while the creature was picking itself up after getting knocked back.
It began charging toward Lyra with intensity, meanwhile, the fireball had increased to a size where it was even larger than the creature.
The temperature in the vicinity had risen to the point where even the leaves on the ground and the trees were beginning to smoke up.
"Release..." Lyra voiced out as she sent the fireball forward the moment the creature leaped into the air.
Bang!
The fireball slammed heavily into it, sending it flying into the distance as its entire body was set ablaze.
The painful shrieks of the creature rang out as it landed several feet away while getting burnt alive. In a few more seconds, only the pungent smell of roasted meat filled the environment.
Lyra walked towards the creature and saw that it had completely been turned into barbecue. Its limbs and body all darkened and shriveled up.
Lyra wasted no time in proceeding with her journey as she ran past the safe zone once more.
'My mana... It's almost depleted,' Lyra could feel she used a lot of mana for that attack.
It was just as Landria had explained to her. Using magic without magic spells caused mana to deplete faster especially when it was used on a large scale like this. If Lyra had made use of a magic spell to construct her attack, not only would it be more powerful, mana would not be wasted.
However, even with this Lyra had a rare mana core that not only made her capable of using spells beyond the level of a beginner mage but also replenished mana itself without her having to do anything. While she ran through the forest, her mana was being restored.
Minutes later Lyra was battling another magical beast that caught wind of her. She realized that the further she traveled the more powerful the creatures became but she was resilient and didn't back down as she continued to head deeper into the Velves forest.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sounds of explosion rang out across an area of tall trees and vines as a swarm of massive eagle-like creatures chased after Lyra.
These flying creatures were the size of a full-grown adult.
At this point, Lyra already had injuries all over her body as these creatures would occasionally swoop down and slice her with their beaks. They weren't so strong and it took only one attack to get rid of them but the problem was their numbers.
Over fifty of them could be seen swarming around her and occasionally flying downwards. No matter how hard Lyra tried she was unable to wave them off.
Their numbers kept increasing while her mana kept depleting.
She had found herself in a precarious situation. Lyra activated another level two raining flames attack, causing a lot of them to be set ablaze in mid-air and fall from the sky as their wings also burnt.
Lyra's level one flame spell was equivalent to the power of a level three while her level two was equal to the power of a level six so it was quite powerful whenever she conjured such attacks.
However, this last action made the creatures more furious as their numbers increased even more and they swarmed down with malicious intent surrounding her on every side.
Lyra screamed as these creatures left injuries all over her body and one of their attacks sent her crashing to the ground. She was unable to conjure any spell at this point as she held her arms up to cover her face while these creatures brutally swarmed down.
All of a sudden...
Fwwooomm~
A massive serpent-like dragon blazing with intense flames appeared out of nowhere and flew into the midst of these creatures.
Boom!
Loud shrieks reverberated across the place as over twenty of them got blasted into pieces causing roasted pieces of flesh to rain down while others were set ablaze as the impact sent them spiraling across the air.
Lyra slowly lowered her arms as she sensed the chaos in the environment.
Two more draconic flames appeared in mid-air flying towards the rest of the creatures...
Boom! Boom!
Explosions rang out once more as the entire vicinity was turned into a haven of roasted flying creatures' body parts. The burning stench spread across the vicinity as over seventy of them were blasted to smithereens.
Seeing how they were getting dropped quickly and in large numbers, the rest turned around and flew away.
"Lyra,"
Lyra heard a familiar voice call out her name as she slowly sat up with her face turning from panicked to relieved.
She looked to the side and could see Landria approaching from up ahead. His snow-white hair looked a bit dusty as well as his brownish leather outfit. Dried blood stains could be seen on different spots as well but other than that Landria looked okay and his face even seemed rosy.
"Landria," Lyra couldn't believe her eyes as she stood to her feet while staring at him.
"What are you doing here?" He asked with a look of confusion.
Lyra ignored his question and walked toward him with a teary expression. To Landria's surprise, she pulled him into an embrace, wrapping her arms around his waist and placing her head on his chest.
