Chapter 67 - Renewed Embers of War (4)

Abyss raised his wings, electrified water circulating within them before blasting forward in a wave of desolation that obliterated the landscape before turning skyward towards Gena and Ellira.

Ellira shot upwards, easily evading the attack with her speed, but Gena's wing was scorched as she attempted to roll to the side.

Myru raised her hand into the air, her necklace of Drakeagen glowing brightly as a pulse wave shot through the air. The wave of energy didn't damage Gena, who was to focused on regaining her composure to dodge it, instead, her body froze, paralyzed, and she began to descend, dropping out of the air before slamming to the ground.

"Gena!" Bella roared, and then a hiss came from Abyss, whose body became engulfed in electrify before the ground at his feet exploded and he disappeared in a flash of lightning.

"Focus on yourself, little Dragling!" Abyss growled, his voice deep and brusque as a wave of lightning slammed into Ellira. The electricity itself had no effect, but it served as a distraction for Abyss to crash into the silver dragon, sending her and her rider flying to the earth, a shockwave shooting out from the impact.

Abyss landed on the ground a couple yards away from Ellira. Gena had managed to get to her feet, just barely, as she struggled to even move.

"I have to say I am honestly disappointed. I expected more from you, with all that talk. And you," Myru turned her eyes to Gena, "it seems like your title of Golden Valkyrie is really not befitting is it?"

Gena bared her fangs as Ellira and Bella managed to get back to their feet. Gena raised her wings, her scales brimming with scarlet flames as the ground at her feet began to turn to molten rock.

"Oh my, the flames. I see you haven't changed at all, still the same old tricks, huh, Gena?" Myru snickered.

"I'm going to kill you.." Gena hissed, and then exploded across the landscape, talons outstretched towards Abyss, but as soon as Gena was within a few yards of the dragon, her body froze and she crashed to the ground, rolling past Abyss.

"Well, that was anticlimactic." Myru shrugged. "I don't know if you noticed, but Abyss can give off a wave of electric energy that paralyzed anyone who gets too close."

Abyss placed a talon atop Gena's neck, pressing her into the ground.

"So much for the almighty Gena. You really are nothing without Ayden, are you? Too bad he died a worthless death."

At those words rage consumed Gena entirely. Brimming flames began to burst from her body, and in a burst of motion, her wing slammed into Abyss's head, knocking the dragon aside as Gena shot to her feet. Her flame aura and rage together made it so she could resist the paralyzing energy around Abyss, and as Gena got to her feet, she slammed her horns into Abyss, knocking him back before slashing a flaming talon across his eye.

Abyss gave a furious roar of agony and rage, blood spurting from his slashed out eye. Gena slammed her talon into his head, crashing him to the ground as she opened her jaws, flames rising in her scarlet chest. Myru raised her hand and a wave of water exploded outwards in a whirlpool, knocking Gena away from Abyss, but as Gena was pushed away, Ellira shot down out of the air in a burst of electricity.

The silver dragon crashed down into Abyss, crushing him beneath her as electrify raced through the water and a massive explosion caused the earth to tremble as the water burst into steam. Bella brought her spear over her shoulder and thrust it down at Myru as Abyss was pinned below Ellira. The spear skewered through Myru's shoulder, who cried out in pain.

Then Myru clasped the spear, glaring up at Bella. A burst of gold lightning shot through the spear, jolting through Bella's body and sending her off of Ellira's back, dangling at her dragon's side held by only the latch the locked her to the saddle.

Ellira was forced to jump away from Abyss, that way Bella could clamber back onto the dragon's back.

As Abyss rose to his feet and Myru held her profusely bleeding shoulder, Gena and Ellira glared down the pair.

"I can't say I was expecting that.." Myru growled, but then she grinned, looking at her blood soaked hand before licking the blood. "Better be careful… you're getting me excited."

The Antigod moved away from Pure Blood's corpse, walking towards the the gate that led to Phenor's den. The dragon lowered his snout and snorted, the gate instantly being blown to rubble as he strode through it and into the expansive chasm. He stopped at the edge of a cliff, glaring at the massive serpentine figure of Phenor, his moss and ivy covered scales shifting as he rose from his resting place.

"Am I to presume you are the Dragon God, Phenor?" The Antigod inquired.

"I am."

"Then I shall take your head."

"Might I ask why that is your wish, dragon?" Phenor asked.

"To purify this diseased world."

"I see. This world truly is diseased as you say, but what makes you believe it is due to us gods?"

"Enough talking." The Antigod made a move to go towards Phenor, but the moment he did so, the entire chasm collapsed in on itself, the roof crashing down as massive chunks of earth rushed to greet the Antigod.

On the surface, in the Skyward Forest, Phenor shot into the air, exploding through the earth as it collapsed, taking the trees and rubble with it.

The earth suddenly burst open as the Antigod emerged from beneath the rubble, glaring up at Phenor. The Dragon God took in a deep breath of air, then exhaled, and a moment later powerful winds began to condense into a spherical storm of writhing wind.

A hiss could be heard from he condensed storm, and then it went silent as the trees and plant life were sucked in towards the sphere, even the floating islands moving towards it, before the wind cage ruptured, blasting outwards in a massive force of destruction that obliterated everything in its path, leaving an immense crater in it's wake.

And at the center of that crater… stood the Antigod, crouched down and baring his fangs in pain, but for the most part, he was unfazed.
