Chapter 64 - Renewed Embers of War

Gänhir stared down Myru from a good distance away. He felt a knot grow in his chest, his hatred for her rising and taking hold of his heart. He wanted her dead. It was all he wished for at that moment.

'Shiratt. Shift.' Gänhir said.

'Understood.'

Gänhir held out a hand at his side, his Drakeagen glowing as a mist began to form around him, condensing inwards before solidifying into a set of ice armor. Shiratt's body became covered from talon to tail in spiked plates of ice, while Gänhir's face was now hidden behind a mask of frost. In his hand he held out a massive axe of ice, in the other, he held a shield.

"Oh? You are already resorting to your frost armor?" Myru chuckled. "You really don't wanna waste any time, do you?"

"Of course not. This is war. There is no time to waste." Gänhir spoke.

"Oh my, always so serious." Myru rolled her eyes. "It's not like you'll make a difference here, Gänhir. Moreover, you weak little dragon friends will do nothing." She grinned. "Could it be, that you are scared of Mourtas? Is that why you are in such a hurry?"

Gänhir's eyes narrowed.

"Oh, it is! I was riiiiight. Well, I don't know if you remember this or not… but I am the only one who has ever been able to go toe to toe with the black dragon and it's rider."

"It doesn't matter!" Gänhir roared. "Stop talking and just fight me already!"

"Oh my, someone is worked up." Myru laughed.

Gänhir raised his axe above his head, then lowered it down. A massive shockwave shot through the air as the clouds burst apart, a massive glacier dropping out of the sky.

"Oh, wow." Myru said. "As if I haven't seen this attack before."

She raised her hand, and a spray of steaming water slammed into the glacier, the hot water seeping into its cracks. A moment later, the glacier burst open, breaking up into four major chunks that all shot off in different directions. And one of them shot straight for the kingdom wall.

"No! Damnit!" Gänhir raised his hand, attempting to shatter the chunk, but nothing happened. He grit his teeth, leaning forward as he and Shiratt shot past Myru towards the glacier.

Myru grinned madly as she watched him go by. To Gänhir's surprise… she let him go.

'Damnit!' He cursed, 'I feel like I'm being played for a fool! But I have no choice!'

"Shiratt!"

"I know!" The dragon roared as it flew beneath the glacier, digging it's claws into it as it used all it's might to fly against it's weight and push it back, but it felt like the dragon was making no difference.

"Hahaha!" Myru laughed madly, "you are such a damn fool, Gänhir, you really think your dragon can hold back a literal glacier?!"

Then, Abyss flew towards the chunk of ice, hovering over it, before exploding down and slamming into it, adding force to its descent.

Shiratt gave a whine of agony as his muscles bulged and his ice armor began to crack. "Shiratt! We have to get out! We can't-"

"Shut up!" Shiratt roared, then his talons dug deep into the ice, cracks splitting across it. A moment later, as the dragon bared it's teeth and he let out a tremendous roar, the glacier burst, explaining in a spray of hail. And then he began to descend, falling from the sky in exhaustion towards the city below.

Abyss shot down through the hail, his talons clasping Shiratt's wing, cutting through the webbing before spinning and throwing Shiratt to the earth. The ice dragon and it's rider crashed first into the Southern wall, shattering it, before slamming to the streets below and through a stone building, which crumbled in on the two of them after impact.

"Well. That takes care of him." Myru grinned. "And now to slaughter the rest."

Abyss raised his wings, his patterns glowing as water began to swirl like a whirlpool within the divot of his wings. The water seemed to be dense, as though it were forced to be compacted down in order to increase its force. Shockwaves blasted outward from Abyss's wings as he raised his head, the water condensing down to a point.

Just as he was about to shoot it out, a sound like crackling thunder and lightning snapped through the sky, and a blur of silver and electricity flashed through the air and crashing into Abyss's stomach, pushing him through the air. They rose up into the sky, and then a massive blast of electricity shot out from them, and Abyss was sent flying out of the sky and crashing into the tundra below, leaving a small crater where they landed.

"It won't be that easy to wipe us out, wench." Bella said, silver armor coating her body, spear in hand as her cold eyes stared down at her foe. Electricity arced about her and her dragon's bodies, giving them a silvery shine.

Abyss slowly rose from the indent in the earth, smoke rolling up from his scales. Myru's head lulled to the side as steam coiled up from her burnt skin and scorched armor. Her clothes were now black and tattered.

"Hah…" Myru began chuckling, quiet at first, but it quickly changed to mad, maniacal laugh of insanity. "Well, well, maybe this won't be so boring after all. Let's see what you can do, runt."

Abyss gave a snarl as he turned yellow eyes up to the silver dragon.

"Abyss. Release."

Dark water began swirling in waves around Abyss's body, and then his yellow patterns began to glow. Then, golden bolts of electricity released from his markings as he raised his head in a roar of rage, the ground shattering at his feet.
