Meredith's POV
The air in the room was thick with tension as my team walked in on me and Matthew sharing a kiss.
Though there was nothing inappropriate about it, my mind couldn't stop replaying the scene over and over again, taunting me with the awkwardness of the situation. Quietly, Michael picked up the files and followed me out of the room. I could feel the weight of everyone's stare on me as I made my way towards the door, and I knew I had to do something to ease the tension.
I stopped in my tracks, causing Michael to stop as well, and turned to face the rest of the team. Their heads were bowed, and no one wanted to meet my gaze. I cleared my throat, trying to capture their attention.
"Listen up!" I said, my voice ringing out clearly in the silence of the room. Pointing to Michael, I motioned for him to join us in forming a small semi-circle. It was time to address the elephant in the room and move past it.
