"Come on, don't give up now. Together, we will save the life of the precious little one. Let's push with all our might as if our very existence depends on it because right now it does. The baby needs your strength and determination to push her out into this world. Can you summon that strength and push with all your might?" I asked, gripping her hand firmly, ready to support her every step of the way.
"Yes, she must come out," she stated firmly. I stood back and attempted to apply pressure to the top of her abdomen, as I had read online that it could facilitate the baby's exit.
"You're almost there, Lizzy. You can do this," I encouraged as she let out a loud cry and pushed with all her might. With that final push, the baby's head emerged, and I recalled that this was generally the most difficult part of the delivery process, with the remainder typically being relatively simple.
