Meredith's POV
The rhythmic hum of the engine and the distant sound of horns seemed to fade away as a sudden warmth spread between my legs. Panic surged through my veins as I realized that my water had just broken, and I still had a month before my due date.
My heart raced, and beads of sweat formed on my forehead as I tried to maintain composure. Glancing at the clock on the dashboard, I knew I needed to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. The contractions started intensifying, each wave of pain making it harder for me to stay calm.
With shaky hands, I reached for my phone to call my Dad but the phone fell off my hand and went under the seat. I had no time to pick it up so I just focused on taking deep breaths as I instructed the car to take me to the hospital. I was prepared to do this alone, between Pam, my father, and Matthew, I was more angry at Matthew than any of them.
