Meredith's POV
In a calm voice, I muttered, "I'm sorry, yes I'm fine," accompanied by a forced smile, trying to conceal any hint of the distress Drago's thought had caused me.
My late mother, who firmly believed in the power of positive thinking, often advised me to "fake it until you feel it" whenever I was struggling to cope with a difficult situation.
So, I decided to put her advice into practice - even though I was still gripped by fear, I pretended to be okay, hoping it would eventually become a reality.
"Are you sure? Take some water," Matthew offered, genuine concern etched across his face. I waved off his worry dismissively, assuring him, "Trust me, I'm fine." A subtle hum accompanied my words, a signal of my well-being.
"Hmm, Gabby and I would like to design some clothes for the nurses, so how about we do the shopping over the weekend?" I suggested, a soft smile playing on my lips.
